Another Photoshop
Sorry Jim.....This Roggenburk is also a Photoshop I did. This one was made for an autograph signing held last month by Signatures4u.
PS...Everything in the image is Gary Timberlake except the Roggenburk head and the number change. ![]() |

I don't think that is Jim Weaver. I think it is Bryan Kelly. See the two images attached.

Anyone have:
- Allen Watson (Seattle Mariners, 1999) - Pitched just 3 games (3 innings total) - Carlos Hernandez (Seattle Mariners, 2000) - 2 games: 1 was an AB, 1 was a pinch runner. It's hard to believe I'm having trouble finding pics for people who played in the year 2000, but here we are. E Last edited by ethanwa; 07-01-2023 at 07:27 PM. |

Attached below is an image of a 1989 Vancouver baseball card that shows Weaver without a mustache. It matches up well with your image on the left that shows Weaver in a Tiger uniform in a B&W photo. I've looked at three other images of Jim Weaver, and agree that it's fair to question whether the Brace photo is really he. The writing on the back of the photo says that it is Jim Weaver. Having started collecting Brace Photos probably 35 years ago or so, I find it surprising that for the first time now someone is questioning whether Brace Studio correctly identified one of their photos. I suppose that with the huge quantity of photos they handled, it's quite possible that human error crept in. Given that you have now found a reasonable photo of Jim Weaver in a Tigers uniform, I would defer to that one and leave the Brace photo in a questionable status. |

And that is sad for Rabb. For today, he'll be remembered. And speaking of Mariners, here's my updated list of NEEDS. I’m looking for non-airbrushed versions (and preferably color) of: 1977 - George Doc Medich - EDIT: Found, but a very crappy black-and-white newspaper clipping. 1979 - Wayne Twitchell - EDIT: Found! Thanks @Merkle923. 1980 - Manny Sarmiento 1986 - Jerry Reed (in the 1986 Trident uniform, not the 87+ yellow S) 1987 - Jim Weaver 1992 - Dave Schmidt 1993 - Zak Shinall 1993 - Larry Sheets 1994 - Shawn Boskie 1996 - Joe Klink 1996 - Blas Minor 1999 - Allen Watson - EDIT: Found in black-and-white 2000 - Carlos Hernandez I also need the following in color (I have them in black-and-white): 1982 - Ron Musselman 1990 - Vance Lovelace Last edited by ethanwa; 07-06-2023 at 03:37 AM. |

Wayne Twitchell 1970 (Seattle 1979)
Good luck on Medich. Talk about White Whales - he's two of them in one year.
But here's Twitchell, original and enhanced. |

I have these images of Medich with Oakland and New York from 1977. The Oakland image was grabbed here: http://whentoppshadballs.blogspot.co...l/Doc%20Medich. Don't recall where the Mets pic was found. Understand he's a whale with the M's that year (I have always assumed the third image here is a modern frankenstein). Is he therefore only a 1x Whale in '77? |

George Medich 1972
A's shots of Medich are common - there are four shots of him at Getty and Topps got him, too.
There is the one black and white pre-game shot of Medich in a Mets uniform in Pittsburgh - everything else is photoshopped. For a long time there was a game action on the Getty site of a Mets player wearing 22, pitching in Pittsburgh, identified as Medich. It seemed too good to be true - and it was. I can't remember now if it was Hank Webb or Dale Murray but I finally talked them into removing it. There are no photos known of Medich in a Mariners uniform. The "Mariners" headshot is this Texas headshot, altered. Among other things the piping coloring is wrong. |

As for Medich, has anyone tried to contact him asking for a picture? I found his address and I think I'm going to write him a letter just to see if I get lucky. He's the only player missing from the 1977 inaugural Mariners year. You would think SOMEONE, including the Mariners, would have a picture somewhere. But he only played in 3 games late in the season so who knows. Last edited by ethanwa; 07-03-2023 at 10:42 PM. |

I realize this is an awful photo but this is a legitimate image of Medich with the 1977 Seattle Mariners. It comes from the 9/22/1977 edition of The Tacoma News Tribune and displays Medich's irritation after giving up a homerun to Sixto Lezcano.

Medich Mets
A clearer image of Medich with Pagan from AP.
Dr. George Medich, right, of the New York Mets, chats with Coach Jose Pagan of the Pittsburgh Pirates before a game in Pittsburgh, Pa., on September 28, 1977. Medich, traded by the Pirates in spring training, joined the Mets after stints in Oakland and Seattle. He had recently begun his first year as an orthopedic resident at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. (AP Photo/Bob Goldberg) ![]() |

![]() First pic I’ve seen of Allen Watson on the M’s. ![]() Slightly better pic of Medich on the M’s from the newspaper article posted earlier. Still terrible quality and we can’t see his face though. ![]() Medich on the A’s. ![]() Last one is Reggie Jackson in a M’s uniform, 1979 All-Star Game in Seattle. Wish the AP had these photos (Medich, Watson) in their online archives. Last edited by ethanwa; 07-06-2023 at 03:34 AM. |
