Very good work on the newest items you've just done for the Eugene Churchmen and the Eugene Pastors. I generally prefer dateless logos, whenever possible and appropriate and all, for leagues and teams, however. I like the colors you used for them, as well. Do you think you could perhaps post versions of those same items that don't actually have any shown dates on them, please?
For the Pastors version, instead of 1940, you could then perhaps put Baseball in its place. While for the Churchmen version, perhaps you could then put two symbols of some appropriate sort between the relevant text on it instead of the aforementioned date-related text, facing each other across the rest of that logo? Just a suggestion or two here, that's all. I'd most definitely download the resulting larger logos for both the Pastors and the Churchmen, if you then did so. Thank you. CD out.

I may have perhaps just finished yet another chapter of my main story's first draft, with another roughly six or so pages of added text for it, so far today, I think. But I'm not entirely sure about that yet, in truth, folks.
If I actually have done so here, though, then that is yet another chapter now done here, and that'll also mean I'm one more chapter closer to actually finishing its first draft well enough here, of course. However, there are still at least several other chapters, if not also multiple scenes in said chapters, to write up and all here, in any case for it. And if I want to keep the first draft's maximum length at five hundred pages or less, not counting the required reference material and all, I've got about 120 pages, at most, that I can currently use for it, it seems to me. For I've got about 380 pages at present for the relevant novel manuscript's first draft, at that. Please stay tuned to this thread for potential graphics-related offerings and all to be posted soon, if and whenever possible, then, everyone. Remember, I have some plans for such items in the near future, once I'm finally finished well enough with Lighting Up the Darkness's first draft here, whether you've requested them or not by now, of course. Thank you all for your time and attention and patience and all here, in any case. And I definitely intend to try and post at least a few dozen items here for people's potential use by the end of February, if and whenever possible and all, for sure. Lord willing and all, of course. Just so you all know this well enough, that is. CD out.

I sometimes wonder just what logos might often do just for fun when they don't actually have any dates for themselves, or when they might have to perhaps work somewhere for an actual living, in their respective existences. Do they perhaps go fishing or something, or play games, every so often? I'm just at least a little bit curious and all about such things here, folks, that's all. Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! CD out.

You definitely have a much better chance of getting a uniform done than a 3D ballpark. I'd imagine that a good modder can design a uniform in around 20-30 minutes (please correct me on that if I'm wrong). However, one of the ballpark designers said that it takes him around 100 hours to complete 3D model from scratch.

Yes, 3D objects are often harder to deal with than those just in two dimensions. For many of my builds in Kaneva, even ones I was somehow sufficiently able to complete, I probably spent at least that much time, on average, to get everything as good as it could be, over any number of days. For instance, the maze I built there took me about 19 days and I don't know how many actual hours of direct virtual building to completely do and pattern and all, it seems to me. Not to mention finding or creating various images and all for the various panels and all present for the build, or outfitting it in certain areas of it.
A lot of other builds I did there were never ultimately finished, however, because of how difficult it periodically was to build for them, especially whenever they were tinkering with build mode, in truth. I have at least a few related screenshots I could probably show here, for visual reference, of course, but it'd likely take me a while to find them, however. My favorite build that I did there, though, is probably the one with thirteen floors for it, and it was rather large, from top to bottom, especially on the lower half of the build there. Obviously, I can't possibly show all the related pictures here to that particular build of mine, but maybe later on, I could show at least a few of them, just the same. The 15th of this month would have been my 14th Kaneva Anniversary, had Kaneva still been around now. But they went down for good in November 2016, after I'd spent nearly eight years there, with only about four days of prior notice before it did so, in truth. Some had been there much longer than me, no doubt, so they probably lost a lot more than I did, when it did so. Both the 3d side and the 2d side went down very quickly once it closed. So a lot of people lost things from that entire virtual world environment, for sure, if they weren't able to be recovered or pictured in time and all, unfortunately. I often loved being in Kaneva, nearly every day and/or night, in fact. But I also often like being here too, and getting to talk to wonderful people like EC and you, for instance, jg2977. But there is a time for everything under the sun, no matter what it is, and at times, certain things must ultimately come to an end in various people's lives, like it or not. I suppose that was ultimately the case for Kaneva, and it will probably also come eventually, in terms of this board, and/or the companies involved in the production of the games we often like to play here in our lives. It may be years yet, perhaps, before we see the last games produced by OOTPD, or not. I hope that's the case, for sure, but not everything lasts forever, in this world, you know. As long as Markus and certain others are able to continue running certain things here, I think the game company will be able to continue producing more products for people to use from it. Andreas may be close to retirement, if not already at it, by now, but I still think this company's in fairly good hands right now, even if they may unintentionally make certain mistakes at times, in various ways, whether known or not at certain times, for sure. Humans make mistakes, you know, in any case. But hopefully, most of us, at least, ultimately do learn from them, and eventually stop making such mistakes in our own respective mortal lives, before we have to each leave this world in them eventually, of course. CD out.

Perfect, thank you very much. Really appreciate these items here, in fact, 20_range. Keep up the great work! The next Eugene-based team that's not already planned or present in any of my leagues will definitely have one of these two team names for it, if I don't actually use another nickname for said team, for sure. No matter which country they're from, whether real or fictional in nature. CD out.
I don't think I actually have that font you used on these Eugene-related items, but if I don't, I'll try to get just as close as I can to it when I make the relevant uniforms and all, no doubt. I typically prefer 100% free fonts with at least 250 Latin-style glyphs and/or characters, though, so that if needed and all, I can then use various symbols and/or diacritical marks as part of a team's actual text/wordmark. But not all such fonts have that many glyphs or characters for them, unfortunately. Many basically only have about a hundred or so, at most, to be sure. CD out.

Yes, you said that in the other thread. Thanks again for posting the relevant font name, for some people may periodically want to know the fonts various designers use for their designs, you know. Whether for graphics or text documents or whatever, that is. I hope to be able to play some ball soon, in any case, for sure. If I can get a bunch more written for my story, I might just be able to get the first draft of it done well enough by my birthday, at that. That would be quite nice, I think, as well. CD out.
P.S. If you haven't already done so at least once or twice, you may want to periodically check out fontspace.com and see what fonts they might then have available for people's use. Whether completely free or not, that is. I've downloaded quite a lot of my fonts from there every so often, by the way. CD out.

As soon as time allows, I will be seeking to do many more graphics as best as possible, whether they're for real teams or fictional ones, and post them here, if I haven't already made them. Or post ones I've made but not yet posted, for that matter. First, though, I need to finish my main story's first draft as soon and as best as possible, of course. CD out.

Am working on it now, I really want to get its first draft done as best and as quickly as I can, for I need to do other things to try and recharge my mental batteries away from it for a bit, I think. I know I have a lot more work to do on it, with or without other people's continued input on it, before its final draft can be done well and all, and I'm not necessarily looking forwards to it, in certain respects. But I've been working on this story for more than three years, and I really don't want to still be working on it four years after beginning to write it, for sure.
CD's going to be the next story's main narrator, and maybe I can incorporate much of what I'll likely have to remove from this story into future stories, somehow. Lord willing and all, of course, that is. Fortunately, I don't plan for the next story to cover as much in-story time as this story I've been working on since November 2019 is going to cover in it. This story mainly covers a period of fifteen years in some version of the 16th Century AD, with CD growing up from birth to legal adulthood by the then-present standards of his nation and its culture at that time. Garrett has been this story's sole narrator up through at least part of chapter 17, but that won't be the case in chapter 24, which will be the chapter with the story's final battle-related scenes in it, it seems. I still hope to finish the main story in 500 overall pages or less, at least for the first draft, not counting the likely-required reference materials that will be included in the overall project. But I'm probably going to have to try to get the main story's final draft done in 400 or so pages, not counting the likely-required reference material mentioned above, if at all possible. That likely means that I'll probably then have to tighten up or cut out or revise large amounts of text, if so, obviously enough here. Hopefully, if I'd have to cut at least some important information out of this story, due to certain rather probable space concerns for it, I'll somehow be able to incorporate such information into other later stories that might follow Lighting Up the Darkness here, of course. I'm not quite sure what to call the next story just yet. But hopefully, as I work through future drafts of Lighting Up the Darkness, I'll be able to settle on a sufficiently good one and be able to start writing the next one, while each draft is being checked for potential errors and all, until I have a suitably usable and hopefully publishable final draft completed for it. I'd like to have at least two drafts cleared by the end of May, and at least three or four cleared by the beginning of August, if at all possible, before finalizing the final draft's text and all by sometime in middle to late August, at the very latest, for sure. By November, I want to be well into Book II's first draft, if not actually done with it, at least. And by this date next year, I want to have Book II's text completely finalized, if at all possible, for sure. I won't say why, but I definitely will want Book II done by now, in any case. Just so you know. I'm hoping said story can be completed within 250-300 pages, seeing as it will only cover one year of in-story time in its main action, for sure. Talk more later, folks. In the meantime, I'd best continue to try to get this story's first draft done as soon and as best as possible, for sure, for various reasons. Among other things in my life as well, of course, you know. CD out.

Still plugging away at the story, as best and as often as I can, of course. I've probably done about four or so pages, probably, already today, more or less. But I may still need to average about five or six pages, at least, per day between now and my birthday, in order for me to finish its first draft well enough by my birthday, if not more, in the next roughly two weeks.
I currently have room for probably 110 or so more pages in the story before I'd then hit 500 pages for it. But I'm definitely still hoping that I won't somehow actually need that quite many, just the same, to then finish the story's first draft well enough here. I'm not looking forwards to likely having to cut or rewrite a lot of the story's current text, and I'm not liking the fact that certain characters may potentially die due to certain battle-related causes in it, of course. But if those things have to be the case for this story, then they have to be that way, in order for the story to be written as best as possible here, obviously, once this story's finally done here, for sure. There's a certain character in this story that I'm going to miss seeing at least somewhat when this story is done. But everyone in this world ultimately has left, now leaves, or will leave, their mortal life behind eventually, one way or another, whether they might like it or not, et cetera, of course. Death happens, unfortunately, for a lot of people. And it still will, unfortunately, continue to be the case here in our world, for at least as long as it still exists, I think, if not even longer than that, until everyone is in eternity, once and for all. No matter where we each spend it in the timeless future to come. I'm hoping to get at least another four or five pages written of text, throughout the rest of the story, that hasn't yet been written for it, before I retire for the night. Although that might still be at least a little bit difficult here, for various reasons here, you know, folks. At present, I'm currently trying to fill up some areas of the story that haven't even been written yet, at least, in truth. I don't know if I can actually complete another full chapter's text yet today, simply because I might still need to add several other scenes to one or more of the remaining unfinished chapters, though. Or begin writing parts of chapters I've not yet begun to write for it, for that matter, of course. Will keep you posted, as possible and appropriate and all, in hopes that I'll soon be able to get back to doing more graphics here for everyone's potential use and even perhaps playing a good deal of OOTP in the near future, folks. Lord willing and all, that is, you know. It is also still hard for me to believe that I'm just about to turn fifty years old in my own mortal life, but even so, that's nothing compared to the years I'll certainly be spending in eternity, for sure. Hopefully, I'll actually be spending them all with my Lord and Saviour, among many others, of course, folks. But only time will tell if I do, for sure, in any case. CD out.

CD, Please note the title of this thread: Graphics Collection from CD's Ultra-Fine House of Style
I know you probably don't want to hear this, but you need to spend less time telling us your problems here is in this thread about writing your novel and use that time actually writing the novel. I know it is very hard for you to be brief in your posts on the Forum, but please try to keep it simple and direct... you are too wordy, too verbose and too rambling in your posts. Try to keep your posts here about graphics... not your novel. I know you love writing your novel, but I really don't want to hear a lot about it... you can BRIEFLY update us on your progress on you novel, but spend most of your time in this thread on graphics. I don't want to hurt your feelings, please listen to me. Others have requested this recently in this thread... I'm not the only one... I'm just more vocal about it. I am still your good friend... and I want you to have a good happy life doing what your enjoy... the novel is a great way to enjoy your life... but please try to stay on topic here in this graphics thread. And please just be short, sweet and simple in your reply to my post... please. ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by Eugene Church; 01-26-2023 at 11:47 AM. |

All right, EC, I'll continue trying very hard to do as you suggest here, of course. Although it's not very easy at times, to be sure, to do that here.
Frankly, I will most likely be quite relieved if and when this particular story gets done completely, most likely once and for all. But that'll probably not happen for at least a few months yet, I think. I'm definitely going to take a break from it for at least a week or two, though, once its first draft is sufficiently complete. That break is definitely going to involve OOTP-related things, at least, in any case. For I'm really hoping to get some game-playing done and maybe even continue reporting or start reporting on one of my existing dynasties in various versions of OOTP, not to mention also trying to knock off a bunch of teams, graphics-wise, on my planned work list, just so you know. With enough good fortune between now and then, if it somehow actually comes my way well enough here, I might just be able to then play at least some OOTP baseball on my birthday. Here's hoping I can, of course. I really would like it a great deal, I'm quite sure, after having worked so hard for so long on this particular story, EC. CD out.

There definitely will be at least some new graphics posted in this thread just as soon as possible after I get my main story's first draft done as best and as soon as I can. I'd say within a week or so, at most, for such team-related things here, if things go sufficiently according to plan for me and all, of course. Here's hoping that's the case here, somehow, then. Lord willing and all, that is.
I've somehow managed to recently find a good number of various team and/or school-related logos, at least. But I haven't yet been able to find the time to do a lot of related items for certain teams well enough here, unfortunately. I hope that changes very soon, of course. I might still need more logos or wordmarks also made for me later on, if I can't find 100 percent free fonts sufficiently close to those likely used on certain real-world items, though, just so you know. CD out.

jg2977, what colors and main design style do you want me to use for at least the base colors of the Springfield team-related set you've just requested here from me? Please try to specify exactly, as best as you can and all, if you like and can, as soon as possible. Thank you. CD out.

The primary color is red. There’s also some navy blue and sky blue, along with gold. White home uniforms of course, with minimal shading. I’m sure that you can come up with a suitable font. Both home and away caps should have the letter “S” on it.
If it’s difficult to fit Thunderbirds on the jersey, it can be abbreviated to T-Birds. See post #3596 for the logo and uniforms for reference. Last edited by jg2977; 01-26-2023 at 09:20 PM. |

All right, I'll see what I can do for you by the 9th, just in case that's your next birthday. It may be difficult, at least to a degree, but I'll see what I can do for you, just the same. That's that week's Thursday, it seems to me. By then, I should hopefully be almost done with my main story's first draft well enough, if all goes sufficiently according to plan and all here. Here's hoping it does, of course, in any case, because I really want to get back to playing OOTP and doing certain other things soon, if I can and all, for a while. Back to work now, I suppose, on my story, then, for at least a little while before bedtime tonight. CD out.
