John Farrow was a right-handed catcher and second baseman for the 1873 Elizabeth Resolutes and 1874 Brooklyn Atlantics. He appeared at second base more times for the Atlantics than any other player. He played 55 games in his brief career. The Sporting Life's Dec. 19, 1896 issue stated that he had become the proprietor of a fashionable cafe on Broad Street (presumably in New York City), when he discovered that an investment he'd made many years before in Oakland, CA had become a hot property, with a large offer made to him. - bRef Bullpen wiki

Here's my attempt at him. Ran him through the AI and all the ones that come back were iterations akin to these two. I colorized one and used that as the base and tried to shape it to the original one. Best I could do.

LansdowneSt if you have some free time I have a feeling that your AI would do great works with Frank Foreman... my FG isn't that bad but the moustache doesn't rock as it did in real life.

Edit: the second picture is another attempt I did... the moustache is more visible but not as amazing than his handlebar. I add the new FG file if you think he is ok like that if you want to add him in the pack like this.

Frank Foreman’s life began and ended in Baltimore, Maryland. In between he played virtually everywhere in the Northeast and Midwest and seemingly forever. He was one of 19 men who played in four major leagues: the Union Association, the American Association, the National League, and the inaugural seasons of the American League. His minor-league career took him through seven leagues, primarily in the East and Midwest. He looked like the stereotypical 19th-century baseball player as he wore a well-maintained handlebar mustache which, at least according to Hollywood, was de rigueur for the day. He stood an even 6 feet tall and weighed 169 pounds. Fulfilling another stereotype of left-handed hurlers, Foreman was something of a flake and was always good for a joke or a laugh. - SABR

My favorite bit from the bio: After the 1885 season with Baltimore Foreman managed and served as an instructor at a roller rink. (1885 was a banner year for roller skating. In 1884 ball bearings had been added to roller skates, creating the modern roller skate. For the first time virtually everyone could skate with minimal effort or athleticism. This kicked off a worldwide craze for four-wheeled relaxation. Rinks popped up everywhere from the smallest country hamlets to the largest cities. Foreman got in on the ground floor and profited handsomely)

I fed the two images in the AI and it gave me a range of headshots akin to the two shown here. I used these to make the facegen and then I tried to shape the fg using the originals.

Jim "Red" Callahan was in one game in the majors, on May 25, 1902, with the New York Giants. He was 21 years old at the time. He was the lead-off batter in the game against the Chicago Orphans, which Chicago won, 3-1. He went 0-4. - bRef Bullpen wiki

The splotches have to do with the source file. The white to our eyes is some sort of harsh lack of color that the software can see that our eye can't. It happens a lot with the old photos. Sometimes, if they are isolated, I get the touch-up tool in Photoshop and tap them to pull in color (or real gray/white) to fill those splotches. But it's nothing you are doing wrong in facegen. It's just the source file.

This picture had too much to even try and smooth out so I again ran it several times through the AI. Here are the types of pictures it gave me compared to the source picture. I used the AI pics to get the facegen close and then did my best to align to the source. Sometimes with so little to work with, we can only get so close...

NOTE THAT JIM CALLAHAN IS MIXED UP WITH JOHN CALLAHAN IN THE DATABASE. I HAVE REUPLOADED THE FG WITH THE PROPER NAMING CONVENTION BUT THE DB WILL HAVE TO BE FIXED TO HAVE IT CODE TO THE 1902 GIANT. I'LL MAKE A JOHN CALLAHAN TOO SOON SO YOU CAN SAVE OVER THE OLD FG I POSTED WITH ONE THAT ALIGNS TO JOHN.

The 1871 Fort Wayne Kekiongas were a tough team to play for. They went 7-12 and paying the players, paying for travel and putting the players up in lodging were not things guaranteed to occur. An East Coast trip, in particular, exposed the clubs precarious financial state. Ed Mincher and Pete Donnelly received their expulsions because they were so fed up with their treatment that they skipped the team in Baltimore, and Philadelphia respectively. Frank Sellman, expelled along with the manager Bill Lennon, had been so broke he had to borrow money to skip the team, with the “club owing him between $100 and $200.” -baseballhistorydaily.com

It's not surprising Mincher and Lennon acted in concert as, according to SABR research, they had married sisters. They had also played together on the Marylands in 1868-1870 before playing in the National Association. Ed's NA career lasted just 9 games with Fort Wayne and another 11 games in 19872 for the Washington Nationals. - bRef Bullpen wiki

Same thing as with some of these others, I used AI to turn the faces into something useable. Here's two examples of Ed's AI renderings. All the iterations were consistent with this look.

Man, this was tough. Absent profile photos, it's hard to stop a mustache from folding down - esp. one that goes "off-the-face" when looking at it straight on. Here's the AI rendering of him looking directly at the camera. I started there and tried to hew to the original. I'd love to apply some smoothing, but it would compromise the thinner parts of the mustache by lightening them. The old one in the CUF pack is very orange with a pasted-on mustache. I prefer this more natural one even if the mustache can't go off the face and curl as finely and perfectly as I'd like.

Sure great to see his facial hair looking that good... this wasn't the one I had in my database (I have just downloaded your database not the complete pack), but the one you just did looks better than mine (those mustache are so hard to do).

Harry Maskrey played one game for Louisville in 1882, for a team on which his brother Leech Maskrey was a player. After their baseball days, both Leech and Harry eventually went back to Mercer, PA, where they had been born into a prominent family, and managed hotels. So, I took the photo that was found and ran it through Myheritage.com website's photo cleaner-upper. It's similar to Remini (phone app) but much easier to use with a PC. I then took that original, photoshopped out the glasses and moderated the facial lines. From there, some smoothing to de-age him. Comparing the result to the clean photo baseball-reference has for his brother, Leech, I think it's good enough, esp. given the starting point. Compliments to the thread next door for finding another picture!

Also, that's one more of those fake Bickford facegens gone.
