That's how all fighters are rated by bear, John Dewey, bask or anyone that does the ratings. You can adjust it by using the career stages though. We assume when rating a fighter that they are prime based on what they have done and maybe sometimes what we expect they might do. The only known is what they have done up to that point and for all we know that could be their final fight. So for rating consistency this is the way it's been done by everyone who does ratings.

With that said most fighters with less than ten fights I assume are pre prime.

well im my uni i start them at beginner and let them sort it out themselves in the ring seeing prime after the 12th fight makes for a LOT of interesting fights on the beginner level especially in the 0-6 group (once in a while the 7-15 group will have an upset but...)

The reason for this is that the game system, when adjusting fighter's to various career stages: beginner, pre, post, and end the game reduces from the fighter's prime rating. If a fighter only had a rating at only one the these stages in the database rather than at prime the game engine would assume that this was the fighter's prime and adjust it further. For example if I had a fighter rated just at pre. the game would then assume this setting to prime and using the pre rating as prime and adjust downward from there.

I see your point bear but generally dont fighters improve with more bouts/rounds under their belt? I just find it odd to say 1 fight and put him at prime though I see your point again it makes sense but even one fight is tough to gain an accurate picture of the fighter right?
