There were some accomplishment and exciting game as the league rolls in it's final 27 games of the year

The Buffalo Bisons defeated the Fargo Horsemen 4-0 at home today as Ed Scott fired a 1 hit shutout. Scott improved to 9-7 as he fanned 5 batters in the game and only allowed a hit to Al Gionfriddo. Francisco Cabrera had 2 hits and 2 RBI's for Buffalo in the win as they are in 2nd place in the AL East trailing the first place New York Yankees by 9 games.

Lord went 4 for 5 in the game with 2 homers and now has hit 38 homers this year. It was Lord's second homer that came off of outfielder Jason Botts who took the mound. Lord hit 66 homers in 2023 and 62 in 2025 and got to 300 in his 6th major league season.

The Atlantic City Sharks dropped the Paris Swingers on the road at Peugot Park today and it was a huge game for Atlantic City starter Joe Blong who struck out 16 batters in 6 2/3 innings. Blong improves to 15-5 on the year with a 2.18 ERA. David Freese had 2 hits and 4 RBI's to lead Atlantic City's offense.

Mob hitman Tommy Devito had a huge 5 hit game today for the Melbourne Caribou as they outlasted the Duluth Champions at home 17-10. The rookie catcher and person that doesn't like being a clown went 5 for 6 on the day with 4 RBI's including his 14th homer of the season. Yuniel Escobar and Carl Warwick also drove in 4 runs for Melbourne in the win.

The Santa Barbara Dolphins learned today that they lost their star pitcher Butch Wensloff for the year with a ruptured finger tendon. Wensloff was 12-11 this year after winning 17 games in 2025. 2026 - No Hitter #12

The 12th no hitter was tossed today by Bob Ewing of the Sarasota Typhoon as they beat the Morgantown Cottonmouths 2-0 on the road at Mountaineer Field. Ewing fanned 6 and walked 4 in the game to improve to 6-10 on the season. Ewing won 16 games in 2022 for the Honolulu Riptide but lost his form and has really struggled the past few years.

UFC fighter Conor McGregor had hits and a homer in the game to augment the offense. Morgantown third baseman Terry Pendleton was baffled "Ewing is not a great pitcher he was pitching to contact and getting lucky, it is sad we go down for this" It was the 2nd time in 2 months that Morgantown fell victim to a no hitter as Bill Sowders and the Philadelphia Phillies were able to get a no hitter in July. It was the first no hitter in Sarasota Typhoon history.

2026 - No Hitter #13

The 13th no hitter of the year comes at a critical time for the Honolulu Riptide as they chase down a playoff berth and possible division title. Rookie righthander Paul "Daffy" Dean came up huge as he no-hit the Kimberley Ocelots at home. Dean fanned 13 batters in the game and walked just one batter in Bobby Klaus. Gary Alexander hit a 3 run blast his 36th homer of the year to help the offense. Honolulu wins the game 7-0 and stays in the 4 team race in the NL Pacific with the Vancouver Men-O-War, Sacramento Bees and Los Angeles Dodgers. It was the first ever no-hitter in Honolulu Riptide history and first time that Kimberley was ever no hit.

Actor and Kimberley Ocelots outfielder Jason Biggs said this of Dean "I was watching from the bench and all I kept thinking, coach don't put me in the game"

2026 - Report #54

There are just 6 games left and there are some big races still alive especially in the AL Atlantic and NL Pacific.

Veteran Gus Bell slugged his 300th career homer today for the Hartford Rocketmen as they beat the Rome Thoroughbreds at home 6-4. Bell hit a 2 run homer in the 6th inning off of Rome reliever Steve Reed. Bell has split his career with the Toronto Blue Jays and Hartford and had 47 homers in 2023 for Hartford. Bell has 27 homers this year.

The Chicago Cubs are trying to clinch the wildcard and have dominant pitching and it was on display today as Vic Willis tossed the 1 hit shutout today on the road against the Sioux Falls Velocity at CitiBank Stadium. Chicago wins the game 8-0 as Willis fanned 14 batters and improved to 18-2 on the year. Ted Easterly collected the lone Sioux Falls hit. Billy Sullivan hit 2 homers and drove in 3 runs and Charlie Bufftinon as a two way player hit 2 homers as well among 3 hits.

Omar Infante of the Los Angeles Dodgers extended his hitting streak to 25 games against the Pittsburgh Pirates as the Dodgers remain in the NL Pacific hunt and wildcard race.

More Cubs standout pitching as Orval Overall fanned 15 batters in a narrow 1-0 road win over the Sioux Falls Velocity at Citibank Stadium. Overall fanned 15 batters over 8 innings and gave way to Tom Butters for his 35th save of the year. Oveall is now 17-8 on the season. Tommy Corcoran had an RBI double in the 4th inning as the lone run for either team in the game.

The San Diego Padres learned today that they have lost reliever Andy Boswell for the season with a torn flexor tendon and will miss most of next year. Boswell was 1-0 this year in 54 relief appearances for San Diego.

The Utah Saints won the AL West division title

The Seattle Mariners won the AL Pacific division title

The Memphis Cougars clinched a playoff berth but have not won the NL Midwest yet.

2026 - No Hitter #14

Sim imitates life as Dallas Braden did what he did in real life and hurls a no hitters today for the Maine Attack as they beat the Toronto Blue Jays 7-0 at home. Braden fanned 6 and walked 2 in the game to improve to 11-8 on the season. Adam Lind went 3 for 3 with a homer and 3 RBI's for Maine to help Braden in this game. Maine took apart Toronto ace Christy Mathewson for 5 runs over 6 innings. Reggie Sanders of Toronto fanned twice and was quoted as saying this after the game "That pitcher had balls, he throws a no hitter against Christy, it just seemed that these Maine fans got behind him early and it was inevitable"

This was the first no hitter in Maine Attack history. It was the second time in Toronto Blue Jays history they were held hitless as the last time was in 2021 by the Baltimore Orioles and Eppa Rixey.

2026 - Report #55

Down to the final series and there are 5 teams battling for 3 spots in the American League and 6 teams vying for 4 in the National League

AL Player of Week Award goes to Jose Altuve of the Tampa Bay Rays. Altuve hit .531 with 4 homers and 14 RBI's and hits 100 homers for the second straight season. It has been a very disappointing year for Tampa Bay as they are just 83-76.

Wannabe gangster and teen father Beau Thompson wins the NL Player of the Week award for the Moscow Battalion by hitting .429 with 6 homers and 14 RBI's. Thompson has hit 31 homers and has driven in 90 runs in his rookie campaign. The St Louis native has adjusted to life in the land of Putin, but Moscow has suffered with a 38-121 record.

It was a big day for Larry Walker and the New Orleans Zebras as their franchise player hit his 300th career homer today, although they lost on the road 6-3 to the Sacramento Bees at V8 Park. Walker went 2 for 4 and slammed his 66th homer of the year in the first inning off of Sacramento starter Lefty Gomez. Walker has also put up a career best 173 RBI's this year. Both New Orleans and Sacramento remain alive going into the final weekend of the 2026 season.

New York city ad man and San Bernardino Butchers shortstop Chandler Bing saw his 25 game hitting streak snapped today by the Austin Donkeys. Bing his hitting an impressive .364 on the season and in his 3rd season has a .350 career average

DEA Man and Santa Fe Impact outfielder Hank Schrader will retire in a few days at 39 years old. Schrader has 266 careers homers and played 6 seasons with the Utah Saints getting world series ring in 2023. He hit 46 homers in 2019 for Utah. Schrader commented "I can't wait to just hang back with Marie and brew beer in my garage, 8 years of this life has not been easy on me"

In a curious move today the Kansas City Royals fired their GM David Malone and their manager Marko Jukovic. The Royals are 86-73 and not sure what their owner Bill O'Connor was thinking as it was pretty sudden and insulting to install new personnel in with a few games left. Arthur Reynolds with no experience takes over as the GM, while former minor reliever Fred Talbot takes over as manager with no experience whatsoever.

The Memphis Cougars won the NL Midwest title for their first time

The Minnesota Twins clinched the top seed of AL Wildcard

2026 - Pennant Race Report #4

We have 3 games left in 2026 and 11 teams are battling for 7 spots as we break down the teams, status and final series of the year.

AL Atlantic
1. Richmond Gamecocks 113-46 (@Acapulco Aztecs 54-105)
1. Baltimore Orioles 113-46 (home vs Anchorage Bears 100-59)
1. San Juan Storm 113-46 (@Toronto Blue Jays 95-64)

Analysis - The first place team will be probably the #3 seed in the playoffs and the 2nd place team will draw the very difficult defending AL Champion Des Moines Jaguars in the first round. One team will go home. It seems Richmond has the big advantage with Acapulco on the schedule but it is a road series. It does not get better than this race

AL Central
1. Chicago White Sox 112-47 (@Calgary Fusion 97-62)
2. Detroit Tigers 110-49 (@Kingston Sea Lions 78-81)

Analysis - Chicago has a strong change of winning this, and Detroit has a faint chance at forcing a wild card runoff. Expect Chicago to move on while Detroit should go home.

NL East
1. New York Mets 113-46 (home vs Austin Donkeys 96-63)
2. Brooklyn Brawlers 110-49 (home vs Las Vegas Snake Eyes 102-57)

Analysis - Mets just need one win and they are in Brooklyn could still get wild card but they are play the defending world Champion Las Vegas Snake Eyes who won't repeat this year as they are outside looking in.

NL Central
1. Cincinnati Reds have clinched
2. Chicago Cubs 113-46 (home vs Birmingham Hillcats 85-74)

Analysis Cubs would like to win the top wildcard spot and avoid a first round matchup with the Reds.

NL Midwest
1. Memphis Cougars have clinched
2. New Orleans Zebras 112-47 (home vs Wichita Hawkeyes 101-61)

Analysis - New Orleans is one game behind the Cubs for the top wildcard seed and avoiding Cincinnati as they try to make their first playoff. They have a 2 game wildcard lead over Brooklyn

NL Pacific
1. Vancouver Men-O-War 111-48 (@Los Angeles Dodgers 107-52)
2. Sacramento Bees 108-51 (@Hartford Rocketmen 89-70)

Analysis - Dodgers are going to be out for blood after being just eliminated after having best record in 2025. Sacramento is holding on for dear life, as Vancouver tries to make their first postseason.

The 2026 regular season has come to an end and there will be one more game left as the Baltimore Orioles will go to Richmond to play the Gamecocks. Both teams have made the postseason but this is for the division title, the division winner will the host the New York Yankees in the Wildcard round while the loser becomes the 2nd wildcard must face top seeded Des Moines Jaguars who are the top seed. Sadie McMahon get the ball for the O's and Richmond starts Roy Halladay.

Jack Clark ripped his 400th career homer today for the Honolulu Riptide as they still lost at home to the Savannah Thunder 8-3. Clark went 3 for 4 and hit his 54th homer of the year, which was his 400th of his career off of Savannah rookie and Utah senator Mitt Romney. Romney completes a brilliant rookie year where he went 12-4 for Savannah

Cincinnati Reds shortstop Trevor Story smacked his 300th career homer today as the Reds destroyed the Sioux Falls Velocity 11-3 at Citibank Stadium. Story hit a 2 run homer in the 7th inning off of Sioux Falls reliever Brandon Woodruff to give him 300 for his career. Story has played for Cincinnati and the San Diego Padres with 52 homers in 2025 for the Reds.

The Milwaukee Brewers extended relief pitcher Brian Holton for 3 years at 2.1 Million per year. In 6 years with the Brewers Holton is 28-12 with 10 saves in 456 relief appearances.
