Wildcats Win Tight National League Pac 12 Race:

The Arizona Wildcats have captured the National League Pac 12 championship.

It was a race right down to the wire, but Arizona has captured the crown - its 1st in franchise history - on the final day of the season.

"National League Pac 12 champs sounds great right about now," said left fielder Stan Musial. "The only thing better is College World Series champions. That's still the ultimate goal, we can't lose sight of that."

The division-leading club has compiled a 92-70 record and will be looking to win the 1st NCAA championship in team history.

Buckner Newest .400 Hitter:

He may be young compared to many NCAA stars, but at the age of 21, Bill Buckner has already proven himself as an elite performer.

A .407 batting average on the season has put the Florida Gators star into rarefied air.

"He's only going to get better, that's the scary thing," the Florida manager told reporters.

It will be hard to improve on a campaign that saw the right fielder stroke 242 hits, with 46 doubles, 5 triples, 44 home runs, 136 RBIs and 126 runs scored.

"I definitely never expected to hit .407 this year, that's for sure," Buckner said.
