Jim Edmonds
![]() My other favorite player besides Jr. I grew up watching play center. I am still amazed at his range and arm. I still don't understand how he was off the HOF ballot in one turn based on his defense alone. I guess you had to watch him everyday to see it. Oh well. |

One of the best position players in the game in 1983 and 1984. Unfortunately he couldn't sustain that level, but man was he fun to watch.

#14 - Mike Scioscia
The man just didn't strike out and could block the plate like he was a brick wall.
People ask me why I carry a grudge against Jack Clark (OK, they don't, but if they did...). I tell them about 1985 - the HR he hit in the playoffs. And from earlier in the season when he cold-cocked Scioscia and knocked him out. I happened to be at the game and it was very scary to see! Scioscia says that that wasn't even the hardest he'd been hit. Chili Davis has that honor. Read about that here. The other picture is of a wind-sprint between him and Fernando. We're still waiting for them to cross the finish line.
