Vault Images Under Repair

In going through the Vault, some images have degraded more quickly than others. I am posting a few here that some of you great folks have agreed to restore; I am posting a bunch of coaches on that thread that need the same treatment. Hopefully, these are images that others will be happy to have like new as well.

Bo made stops at Knoxville, Aberdeen, Amarillo,Stockton, Pensacola, Vancouver and Little Rock in the O's chain from 1958-60. Never shows he made the ML club and was a rule 5 pick of the Angles where he reunited with Chance. Chance was the one the O's let get away. The NEW Senators picked him in the expansion draft and then traded him to the other expansion team, the Angels, for Jo Hicks. Joe Hicks?? Boy did the Senators really blow that one.Chance never made the ML Oriole team either but he made up for it.

More Cleanups...

This group of White Sox were all taken at the same time and close to 20 shots from this session have been on actual cards.

You have to credit Paul Richards and later Larry MacPhail (pilfered from the Yankees) for the incredible amount of pitching the Orioles had in the Sixties. Richards was a genius who rubbed everybody the wrong way. MacPhail along with George Weiss was responsible for procuring and cultivating the amazing talent the Yankees had in the Fifties. It's no coincidence that when MacPhail and Weiss left the Yankees, their dynasty was over (altho' it took a few years to manifest itself). Meanwhile MacPhail kept stocking the Orioles' cupboard while Weiss procured the Mets' 1969 championship team's talent before he retired from the club in '66. Ironically, the O's fueled by MacPhail's recruits and the Mets, fueled by Weiss's homegrown talent met in the '69 World Series while the Yankees were finishing under .500

If you share any more Phillies could you share Wally Post. When you share your Detroit Tigers in the future could you include Bob Shaw and Dave Philley? I have never seen Wally Post as a Phillie in color outside of the 'root beer' and '1959 Topps' cards. Many Thanks for your 'creations'.

Thank you for the image. It's a better larger image than the Topps card from 1959. This will fill the gap in my 1959 and 1960 Phillies teams until a Topps Vault image pops up! Regards, 'luvbblogos'.

I usually consider that if a player is on a team on 1959 Topps card, then a color pic of him exists on that team. Obviously not everybody has the same definition. Anyway, I made another one rather than argue about it

ortforshort, Thank you again for your 'creations'. My five year quest for Post, Shaw and Philley is now complete. Both you and 'SPORTSMEM817 have filled in the gaps for me! I am in your debts. Regards, 'luvbblogos'.

Bob Shaw and Dave Philley completed my 1957 Detroit Tigers team. Now I can 'roll the dice' as I have my 25-man roster. 'luvbblogos'.

While we're on the subject of Wally Post, a good item for his fans to collect is his "Home Run Derby" baseball card.
The leading sluggers of the day were pitted against each other in a home run hitting tournament filmed for a TV series
that aired in the Fall and Winter of 1959-1960. In one episode Post defeated the future all-time home run king,
Hank Aaron. Post's card is #15 in the series.
