The twitter feeds flying through Yahoo sports (Stark and others) sound like there is a massive re-load for the future about to happen - Price, Cespades, Kinsler, Avila might move. Can we get Krol into the mix? Unload verlander on the Dodgers if they want Price bad enough?

Edit: Soria, Simon and Davis mentioned too

Buckle up - will be an interesting 48 hours or so.

Am I the only one that thinks Jim Bowden is a clown? I mean, I seriously think he makes half his crap up on the fly. Considering he has access to GMs, he's almost never right....and he always sounds like a tool.

No. I'm pretty sure everyone in Cincinnati and Washington would agree with you.

(I do too)

The Price is right!

For the Blue Jays.

Is it right for the Tigers?

I don't know a thing about Norris other than what the snippet said - high draft pick in 2011, 22 years old, lefty - sounds like that could be worth the Price rental.

Yahoo Sports says that the deal is for three pitching prospects. Can't wait to see the incoming portion of this deal in full.

Here they are:

Matt Boyd Minor League Statistics & History | Baseball-Reference.com

Jairo Labourt Minor League Statistics & History | Baseball-Reference.com

Daniel Norris Statistics and History | Baseball-Reference.com

Norris and Boyd will be on the staff next year I would guess. Not sure what to make of Labourt, decent stats but he wasn't exactly rocketing through Toronto's system.

I am pretty happy with this. I think.

Getting Norris and Boyd, two upper minors guys who could potentially start for the team next year, is a solid return. They say Norris has ace type stuff. Labourt is more of a low minors developmental guy. That Anthony Alford was originally reported as being part of the deal and then wasn't was a disappointment. He would have turned it into a fantastic trade for Detroit.

There's some twitter buzz (can't believe that I've finally uttered the words "twitter buzz') about Cespedas to the Mets.

Could this guy be coming over next now that the Brewers deal fell through for them? He has been listed as an untouchable but are the Mets getting desperate at the deadline now?

Alderson has been pretty clear Matz is untouchable, as you mention, and that would likely go double in exchange for a rental and he's a tough negotiator who doesn't get seem to desperate.. You never know but I'd say the chances of Matz being traded are between slim and none.

To address an earlier post, I don't see Kinsler getting traded. From all accounts, the team is still looking to be competitive next season, and they simply don't have anyone who can step into the second base position. If they hadn't traded both Devon Travis to the Blue Jays for Anthony Gose (which has worked out well so far), and Eugenio Suarez to the Reds for Alfredo Simon (not so much), I could see it. But they have just about exhausted all middle infield depth they have in the upper minors.

I had forgotten that this is who Norris is - I love this!

Top Blue Jays prospect Daniel Norris lives by his own code

Norris can be very good. His mechanics are suspect. If the Tigers are patient he will start for them for a long time.

Tigers get the better of this deal long term but after the Tulowitski acquisition there was no other choice for the Jays. I'm enough of a realist to know that this may not be enough.

Here in Mets County, we have become a bit allergic to "twitter buzz" recently...

And all the trades are for nothing, since now that our lineup is not quite as anemic anymore, the bullpen has gone completely to ****s.

Perhaps the Mets would have interest in acquiring Joakim Soria as well.

How about that: you can pick any three relievers you want, no questions asked, AND get Jenrry Mejia when he comes off his suspension (just 160 more games to go, yay!) for J.D. Martinez?

Nah, J.D. is far too advantageous as a contract. Hits the snot out of the ball, in the prime of his career and gets paid nowhere near his true value for the next few years. In all seriousness though, Mets have a good base. That much young pitching is ridiculous.

That young pitching doesn't pay squid when it gets two and a half runs of support (on good days) and gets its leads blown in the seventh, eighth, and ninth innings.

Okay, I throw in Granderson to the deal, but then we want Buck Farmer. Our batting practice guy has a sore arm.
