Spitfire - I do have a problem with trolls who repeatedly harp and post incessant gripes that have been well documented, either to boost their post count at best, on down to just being trolls who are contributing nothing but annoying the folks working on this game. The point here is to get a product to fruition, it shouldn't be about me poking back at a troll.

These twits can post whatever they want and I can't stop them. I equate them to the awful co-worker who smells bad and picks his nose in plain sight at his desk. While I may have to work with him, I don't have to like or tolerate his presence and if I can do certain things to make his presence uncomfortable for him so they leave - no loss to these forums IMHO

I would actually like to engage him/them in a live discussion to find out what the problems/expectations are about this game in a productive format. I play sports sims and wargames as my hobby and I have seen many games released that are buggy or undergo numerous updates that do not fix the problem or create three other problems instead and most of them are six months of frustrated play and then into the trash heap. Then there are those games just like EHM or War in the Pacific that develop a cult following that supports the game long past the game company that released it!

How do you make these twits understand that EHM is literally a one in a million game? It is one of the VERY few lottery winners in small company programming and what it really did was provide a career with a large game company for the originator? Yet when it was produced as a commercial venture that EHM was NOT successful? It's why the cult following almost religiously updates an ancient (2007) code based program, because there is not enough commercial following for sports sims to have EA or a major game company take the risk?

WHY do we need to support OOTP/FHM since they are one of the few to follow a similar path and achieve moderate success? Because without them trying (and sometimes failing) there is no OOTP or FHM, that these forums would just be announcements from some EA type corporate speak drone that doesn't even know the game.

Now feel free to rip me or poke fun, but I've been around the block a time or three, and I have appreciation of what 18 and 24 hour work days are like and the lack of appreciation for what goes into this "love" and work affair. From the missed dinners and family time, the sacrifices of your family to support your job and your "dreams". That is exactly what I mean when I say to Sebastian that I got your back! So I guess your right after all Spitfire,

Guys, please keep the discussions civilized and respectful, otherwise infractions will be handed out.

Keep up the hard work. There are many of us that are not as vocal in the community that appreciate the work you're doing and the foundation you are building for this franchise moving forward.

You have plenty of support from people that are not ever going to come here and post. My whole mens league team and my whole, long running, fantasy league are all looking forward to the new build and FHM 2015.

And for not updating the roster in FHM 2013/14 (we had regular roster updates during the season, not many sport sims do this in that frequency), think about it.
Did I criticize 2015? No.

The most popular sports sim in the world "Football Manager" releases at close to the half way point every year in the European soccer season. Markus releases OOTP a ways into the baseball season when needed.

Im not going to call you "self entitled" or any of that rhetoric. What I am going to ask of you is that if you are truly a sports management sim fan and more importantly a hockey sports sim fan you are going to have to have patience and support this franchise.

Hockey is a niche sport to begin with and a hockey sim game is something to be nurtured.

OOTP had the same growing pains. Thats a fact. It has grown to be one of two the greatest sports management sims ever created.

Lets let Sebastian breathe a little and support the endeavor long term. Those of us who watched OOTP and even Football Manager grow know its a "process"

Im selfish in my comments because I see the greatness that can be with FHM. I love hockey, im sure you do as well. We may never get a better shot at a great hockey sim than we will here with Sebastian and Markus.

Just have a little faith, a little patience and support the effort.

First, yes, let's keep this civilized.

Second, yes, there's no point in rehashing the same things over and over again. This is like someone who calls a customer service line to complain and is apologized to, and offers are made to make up for what they're unhappy about, and yet they continue to complain and complain and complain.

At some point, what more can the company do? The situation is what it is, to use a cliche, and if people are still unhappy, I hope they understand that we're very sorry about that. We certainly wish we could build a time machine and go back a couple years to correct some missteps. But those things happened, and now here we are.

Third, yes, software development is iterative. You improve it in ways large and small from one major release to the next, ideally with small updates along the way to fix bugs and other things, and hopefully a few years down the line, you can see the great strides that were made from v1 to v5.

I have a 12yo daughter, and in recent months it has struck me that, holy cow, I have a young woman in my house. Where'd that toddler go? What happened to that grade schooler who went door-to-door the first time selling Girl Scout cookies? You don't see the little things from day to day, month to month, year to year, but when you look at a decade, you see the big picture view.

Let's keep the big picture in mind, folks. Thanks.

Exactly what offers have been made to make up for what we've been unhappy about?

Just want to know.

They offered people refunds outside of the refund "window." That's about the biggest that I've seen publicly at least...

Yes, we've offered refunds outside the normal refund window, which is 2 weeks. (AFAIK, Steam doesn't offer refunds, so unfortunately we can't do anything about those sales, but we could work something out.)

Anyone who wants to take advantage of that can PM me. Thanks.

EDIT: Please note that we're looking at this on a case-by-case basis. Anyone who wants a refund after a year will likely not get one, for example.

How about us who bought the game in early pre beta and haven't got us a playable game (as in "a game we enjoy to play") since, will we get a major discount for FHM 15 ?
Just asking !

The bugs will be squashed in the next patch. Just be patient.

My bet is on Christmas or New Year's. We'll even get a new match engine so it would be much more fun and better!

But as they said before they'll release it when it's ready.

I would like a discount too on FHM 15 but right now I'm still looking to try the new patch when it comes out.

I don't think FHM 14 is that bad and will probably be improved significantly!

Patch Issues (1.6.19)

I finally installed the 1.6.19 patch for HFM 2014 and now I can't play the game. It is asking me for my serial number and after I enter it, it says "The Game could not be activated, please try again in a few minutes". WHY? I have been trying again every few minutes for almost an hour now. Anyone???

Adding more info here...just looked at the crash report and it says:

Startup - Everything good!
eSellerate - exit with code eWeb_ValidateActivation returned 0xFFFFF82B (SDK_ENGINE_CORRUPTED)
eSellerate - exit with code eWeb_ActivateSerialNumber returned 0xFFFFF82B (SDK_ENGINE_CORRUPTED)
Startup - Not good!
Startup - Start finished, load Startscreen!
Startup - Startscreen begin!
Startup - Start process successfull!

Welcome to the world of FHM support for the Mac! They'll give a Steam key to play the game, if you want to do that. (I don't because I live in the sticks and am not always connected to the internet.) It's been this way months, with no word on when they'll even think about fixing this.

See this thread: http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...ion-error.html

We have thought about fixing the activation error on Macs, but, TBH, I'm not privy to what's going on there. In the meantime, we're giving Steam keys to anyone on a Mac who's having trouble activating - Just PM me.

Also, Steam offers an offline mode: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_...3160-agcb-2555

We'll announce pricing when we're ready. To be honest, we understand that FHM isn't the game some people wanted it to be, but there are plenty of people who have said they enjoy it.

But it is playable in the sense that it works, even if it's not the game some people wanted.

And that's it on this topic. We'd prefer not to keep rehashing the same comments over and over. Thanks.

I understand you being fed-up with customers stating they are not satisfied, but i thought i just asked a question in a civilized way,
Furthermore, i don't recall this subject of a discount being addressed already (maybe I'm wrong) ...
So much for "rehashing" !
Anyway i will wait as i do since soon to be two years ....

I'm sorry you don't enjoy FHM. Since I'm not 100% sure what exactly you don't like it is tough to tell if FHM 2015 will be enjoyable for you so maybe you should wait and read a few reviews first before buying it. That way you don't waste money on a game you don't like. I bought NHL 15 for the PS4 this year (my first in years) and at least for me it is not enjoyable (no way to sim between shifts in career mode, I'm pretty sure it was available in earlier versions ).

Pricing will be announced once we get closer to release day. It is not workable for us to give discounts to previous customers but we have something on our mind to say thank you to our great community.

Thank you for answering i will wait patiently for your announce, and then i will see what i will do. I like what I've seen already of FHM 2015.
And to finish about what i don't like in FHM 2014, well i 'm not interested in Historical play or Custom play, i just want a enjoyable normal NHL game with realistic trade/Waiver system, and other basics that for me didn't work as it should . We will see if the new match engine will change my mind !
