Apologies if anyone gets frustrated from all of the multiple releases, I know it probably can be tough to deem when to start your own league - I wanted to do this a bit more this year, as with my schedule, there can pop up some stretches where I don't get a chance to work on rosters at all, and want to periodically release what we do have done.
As long as you feel comfortable with what you've done (I'm sure you don't want to release anything unplayable), then myself and I'm sure most of the community would rather play with the partial roster to kill some time while you finish up your final product! I know when you announce dates, I try to get my girlfriend to go away and check the site way more then I should! lol

I'm not sure I understand what is updated. So appreciative of Cubbyfan's hard work, but disappointed that this most recent addition does not have the Reds/Cubs trades, Pujols' move, etc. updated yet.

Is that what you're working on this weekend, CF?

While still in commissioner mode act as the Reds to complete the Reds/Cubs and Reds/Padres trades. Rinse repeat for any other transactions you want to make. I wish the trades had already been done, too, but it took less than five minutes for me to update the transactions. Cubby's financials are way better than those with the stock set and that alone is worth the download for me.

I've ran several tests and Pujols ends up with the Angels every time...most of the free agents end up where they really have. Although as a Reds fan I hope the game's prophecy of Prince Fielder re-signing with Milwaukee is false.

Edit: By the way, you Cubs fans now have one heck of a baseball mind in Theo. I wish he were elsewhere!

I might be alone here but I can't figure out how to correct the logo for the MLB itself. All my other team logos automatically show up (Cards, Cubs, Reds, etc.) but my MLB logo doesn't. Anyone know what I can do? Thanks

Also all the players history is gone. Maybe that is connected to the blank emails? Thanks!

I would be willing to volunteer my services to helping with the latest update. which could include 2011 statistics for players to update their ratings.

I started going through and making all of the transactions that Cubby hadn't gotten to yet... but by the time I got to the 2nd week of December I couldn't stand it anymore. I went though and just make the last of the big signings and deals and I'm ready to play now.

Everyone should go through and do that, just to get a better appreciation of what a pain in the ass Cubby goes through for us. haha

Why can't I change the logo for MLB?!

I've gone through and fixed the uniforms that disappeared on all MLB teams and started making transaction which I'm enjoying alot, but I still can't get the MLB logo changed. It's showing up as a game created cursive MLB. I might be OCD because I can't handle it. Haha. I can even handle the histories being gone..maybe.

Can anybody help?

To fix the MLB logo go to "Game setup" then "Colors and graphics" on the bottom, "edit league colors and logos for mlb" then "load" the mlb logo you want to use (there are a few in the sam logo folder that comes with the download)

One way to do it is this:
1 - Make sure OOTP 12 is not open.
2 - Find an MLB logo, preferably 150x150 in size.
3 - Name the file either "major_league_baseball".
4 - Find your .lg folder for the league.
5 - Within that folder, go to: news\html\images.
6 - Delete the "major_league_baseball" files. There should be a few with slightly different names.
7 - Paste your 150x150 image there, named "major_league_baseball", which should be in PNG format.
8 - Start up the game. The other file sizes will be created automatically.

If you do this while you have the game open, it may not work properly.

Or do what diesel230 said. I guess I've always been doing it the hard way for the league logo until now.

I just figured out how to fix it another way when I saw your reply. Thanks! I changed out the multi-sized MLB logos in Cubby's news/images file.

Now I'm going to try importing players history from another save and see if that works. All I'd be missing then is the transaction history from 2011 which could be added if I got ambitious.

starting a season with a draft

thanks for the help before with loading the rosters. i've got that going.

i've got a problem i haven't solved yet. i'd like to start a new league with the new rosters, but i'd like to start with a draft. all the regular teams, but with the players dispersed.

seems like it should be easy, but no luck so far. thanks for any help.

I have tried importing functioning player histories into Cubby's file without success, it always reads 'no history data found'.

I tried re-installing the news/txt/players folder from Cubby's latest file and it still comes up blank.

Seems like I must be missing something simple. Its too bad too because Cubby says he has updated histories on these guys. I'd love to be able to read them.

Awards Summary- check (includes 2011)
Awards Listing- check (includes 2011)
Player History - no history data found

All Managers records are 0-0 as well even Dusty Baker.

SIDE NOTE: Cardinals #2 prospect SP Carlos Martinez is missing and I'm guessing #5 prospect 2B Kolton Wong will be in the next set because he is a new draftee.

Cubby liking what I see so far overall.

Go to Game Setup, then choose the League Setup tab. Under General Functions, there are three options. The last one is "Release all players & schedule inaugural draft". Do that, and you should be good.

To the best of my knowledge, there is no way to import manager records from the database. Someone correct me if I'm wrong there. Also the Player History will never be updated through the database, that's only able to be done by editing the individual player .txt files which is probably way more time consuming than even doing the actual roster set. Probably won't be something that's ever done.

I always wondered the fix for this too, I'll fix that in this release.

Not sure what you mean - 2011 statistics are in the file, and the player ratings that haven't been based on 2012 ZiPS projections are based on 2011 end of season ZiPS projections.

Latest file included fixed financials, some tweaked ML totals for better statistical accuracy, and more updated MLB ratings. Hoping that I can get out a new file tonight that will include what you're looking for. TBD.

Also, DID manage to find a way to get 2011 MLB draftees on their teams fairly easily, so that will be in this file after all!

Its too bad the player histories are blank. I always liked reading where they wete drafted, what scouts used to think of them. What teams they were traded to, etc.

I thought I could import that data from other loads.

Awesome news on the draftees!

I agree - I love it too, the one problem that I find with these and OOTP is that the files are named by player ID (i.e. player1408.txt or something to that effect) rather than by player name, so when you start a league, it's hard to patch that data over at all.

That makes sense. I thought maybe the ID numbers might be consistent from save file to save pile and a txt dump from ine to the other would solve it but it didnt work. I guess the ID numbers for the txr files change.
