Licensing is not something we will see soon, its been declared illegal by the courts, but mlb is appealing and SI is just being cautious, will wait foir final decision

Exclamation Umm I did ask for fictional supporters to ignore this....

If it were to receive a MLBPA license, then I believe OOTP would eventually die out. I hope this is not the case, and Markus decides to stick with the current formula of fan-generated roster sets, historical leagues with the Lahman DB, and fictional leagues.
So what do you base your "opinion" on?

here's my prediction for OOTP 2008: there will be NO mlb rosters, because surely no one is insane enough to undertake the massive effort involved after the way these boards have treated the roster makers for the past two years....

and the sad part is i'm sure it's just a minority and the "silent" majority are sitting back patiently waiting for AP to complete what needs to before he feels satisfied releasing them.

All you need is a beta team to create rosters for the game. IF you have 2 or 3 guys doing a project like this, with ground works (how to rate guys so its accurate and consistant) it would be a snap.

Thats what I'm saying, if you have 3 guys assigned to this, meet and make sure you have a uniform rating system, then assign one guy to each division, then do the same for the other league. Easiest way to do this. Rosters are much more complicated in the last 2 versions because of the detail involved in the games. But i'm just giving a suggestion, I buy OOTP for real rosters. I would gladly buy rosters from developers.

Hi!

I'd like to make a contribution to this thread.

Locked. AP can post a new thread in the Mods forum when he's done with the roster set!
