I have already written just about six full pages of text today, more or less, for Lighting Up the Darkness. Hopefully, that actually will be enough text for chapter 23 of it here, but it still might not be, in truth. I might still have to add at least a bit more text for it before I can finish it sufficiently well here, at least in a first-draft state, if I haven't already put enough into the relevant chapter here, though, I think. EC, if and when you see an interesting player name, or if you can remember such names, that the game's various versions have come up with or do come up with periodically, please let me know. I'm likely always going to be interested in such names, even if they may not always seem to go together well with each other, I think. Like a Scottish first name with a Scandinavian-style last name, for instance.

Maybe you wouldn't want to use such names in your dynasties for players on their related teams, but I wouldn't mind doing so too much, most likely, in my own dynasties. Especially if they suggest hints of possible wordplay, for example.

EC, if you had to pick up to perhaps 60 or so players for your all-time dream team's organization, with the top 25 being ones on its 25-man roster, who would you perhaps pick for it? Whether historical or fictional, I mean?

As for me, I'd probably have to think about just who I'd ultimately choose for my all-time dream team's organization, but I'd quite obviously be putting Bruce Sutter, Stan Musial, and Albert Pujols, at least, in it. And most of the active roster, at least, would most likely consist of current or former players from the RL St. Louis Cardinals team history, of course.

I'd certainly build around Sutter, Musial, and Pujols, at least, if not others as well. Those around them would most likely have to be good hitters, good runners, and good base-stealers, or at least two of the three, on the offensive side of things, if they weren't pitchers. I generally prefer to build teams around good pitching, good speed, good defense, and versatility, if not also youth, whenever possible.

I usually prefer starters who can go deep into games, so that I wouldn't normally have to carry many bullpen guys, because I prefer to have a deeper bench. I usually prefer at least fifteen batters per 25 players on an active roster most of the season, and no less than about 28 batters per 40 players the rest of the season, once rosters expand for the last part of it, in my games. Usually, I prefer to carry about two batters per pitcher on my active roster at any time, whenever it's possible to do so during any season, for sure.

I'm not a fan of having nearly half a team's active roster consist of pitchers, actually, like most teams seem to be doing now. I also don't agree with pitch counts, generally, and I think many of the rules changes that baseball's instituted in the last thirty years are crazy, or at least ill-thought-out and/or ill-advised, at least for the most part, if not entirely.

We don't need shifts to be banned, or at least highly regulated, for sure. We also really don't need time clocks for pitchers or pickoff throws to be restricted. And we definitely don't need larger bases on any baseball field at all, either.

Hopefully. the most recently-decided and adopted MLB rules changes, at least as far as it comes to increased base sizes and all, can somehow be prevented, or at least made optional, in the next version of OOTP, in any case. I realize baseball has to change at least every so often to keep many people's interest in these times, but for me, I generally prefer a more traditional view when it comes to baseball and its rules and all, I believe. AT least in terms of in-game play, that is.

Granted, my various team-related graphics may not always look rather traditional in their respective natures, at many times, around here, EC and jg2977. But still, at least when it comes to on-field matters, as far as general strategy and all, I prefer a much more traditional approach more often than not, if and whenever such can be used for my own teams and/or leagues, in certain aspects related to baseball here. I just came across a really funny name that OOTP created. His name was John Goodenough, and he is a utility/bench player for the New York Mets. Oddly enough, his name makes perfect sense, as he is barely "good enough" to be on a major league roster.

A funny name that I came across in someone else's dynasty, and then I later implemented him in my own dynasty for a while, was Alpha Cabbagestalk.

Of course, I wouldn't be able to use the original player names from many people's created/designed players without their permission, I'm sure. But as a writer, I'm often looking for interesting names that could potentially be used as character names in my stories and/or dynasties, for sure. Especially when it comes to various players who could be from any number of my fictional nations, you know.

I'd really like to be able to perhaps include your own created/designed players in my dynasties at times, just like you have in yours. You can even use the exact same player creation template to suggest them to me as I've done before with you both, one that I believe krmarks developed quite some time ago, jg2977 and/or EC. Unusual names don't bother me, or cross-cultural ones, either, for sure.

I don't know if anyone could or would be willing to make me at least one stadium with my preferences for it or them, by my next birthday, if they were perhaps interested in doing so. But I still hope that people could and would be willing to try by the time I might finish the final draft of this main story of mine here, of course, which I hope happens by the middle of August, at the latest, if at all possible. There are definitely a number of teams in Slaabovia that could definitely use such parks here, for example, in any case, at the very least. CD out.

You got it done in less than a week... your original request in this thread would never have been made.

In the future... post your requests for one team at a time in one thread at a time... and only give basic information... team colors, primary and secondary logo, home and away jerseys and home and away caps... no other information.

I'm glad someone did it for you.

Hope you will use it in a league that you are currently playing and not just store it for future use.

No, I won't just store it for future use, EC. That wouldn't be right, for sure, when someone took their valuable time to make it for me, after all. I'm not sure if I currently have any dynasties with an active Japanese team named that, at the moment, but I think I do, or soon will, in any case. Of course, I've mostly been trying to focus on my main writing project for a good long while. But one of the things I definitely do plan to do as quickly as I can after I get its first draft completely done well enough is to play at least a bit of OOTP and/or FHM for a little while, to hopefully help me recharge my mental writing batteries here, so to speak, for sure. Among other things, obviously.

Those items are too good not to use, for sure, so why not use them as soon as possible? The sooner, the better, for sure, you know. While we may not be able to have the *** and related leagues currently present by default in 23, certainly dynasties being played in versions 22 and earlier where there was a valid *** license at the time of the relevant versions being released to the general public aren't necessarily affected if they haven't been imported into 23, or where they haven't been affected by the removal of *** and related leagues from OOTP here.

As for at least one potential team inspired by Sailor Moon, that might be a bit challenging to do here, I think. For the relevant superhero-type characters typically wore multiple colors for themselves, when they were powered up. I'd have to post some pictures of the relevant characters, though, I think, or post links to where such pictures could be found, if I didn't post such pictures here, so that other people could hopefully have a better idea of the colors I'd like to see that team using for various items they might make here later on or not.

Same thing is true for a team inspired by Love Hina, but I don't think the Hinata Archeologists would necessarily have to have as many potential items made for them as a team inspired by Sailor Moon might require. For there aren't as many major or sufficiently important characters in the Love Hina media franchise as there are in Sailor Moon. So the design needs for the Hinata team would be considerably less than those for the Juuban team I'd have in mind here.

It will take me a few days, probably, to collect enough potential pictures, or find enough good links, to base the next potential graphics request on here sufficiently related to the aforementioned Juuban-based team, though, I think. But if I can find them in the next week, there may be a chance that those items could be done in time for my birthday, somehow. Same thing might be true for the Love Hina-inspired team here, too, I think.

The Hinata City-based team would probably be a team with a more traditional look to them, and very similar to how LBL_Brendan did the entire Kyoto Emperors set here, I think. While the Juuban team would probably be a team with a more modern/futuristic look to them, with touches of other design influences, most likely. Again, I'd have to look to see what I have or can find for related pictures and/or links pertaining to both media franchises, for sure. Just so you know. CD out.

However, if I were to create a dynasty in OOTP 23, once I finally was able to find the time to install it on my computer(s) and all, I'd certainly have the ability, it seems, to use any and all alternates for various teams in my various leagues and/or dynasties that I'd want to, you know. And that way, I could probably even have a lot of fun seeing those items in-game, as well, for all those teams and all, I think.

With so many uniforms and caps then available, it would be rather interesting to see the various uniform and caps might match up with each other for various teams, as well, for that matter. And it might even be rather surprising at times to see how they look on the field of play in 3d, too, when certain games are played out and watched, instead of just simulated and all, you know. Yes, I hope so, but I'm currently trying to complete the first draft of a major writing project as soon and as best as I can. Once I do, I plan to do a large number of graphics as soon and as best as I can. Also, I'm waiting for at least one or two computer mice to come my way where I now live, after one stopped working, most likely permanently. And the one I'm currently using doesn't seem to be much better at the present time, so it will probably be replaced soon as well.

On page 178 of this thread, I posted a long list of teams I hope to actually try to do various related things for during this current year, as best and as quickly as I can, I think. Most of those teams are or were real-world high school teams, it seems to me. And most of them are or will be from states after Minnesota, which is where Lawn Loaf left off with his various high school-based graphics in his own related forums thread. Although many of those teams may be rather difficult to do here, for various reasons, I'll still try to do as many of them as I can, Lord willing and all, this year, if and whenever possible and all, for sure, jbird669. CD, you can create your own unique names yourself... just edit the name of a player to what you want.

Sorry, I like for names to be matched up... using a Scandinavian first name with a Scottish surname is not for me.

I want ethnic names to match up... Lars Larson... Byorn Haldorson... Eric Ericson.

So I take it you don't have any players with two nationalities in your games, generally, EC? That would probably increase the odds of ethnic names being mixed and matched between names from two countries for various players, if the user makes it possible for names to be used from secondary nations for players along with those from the relevant player's primary nation, I think.

There's often a benefit also with allowing names from different languages and/or different countries for players, and that helps reduce the chance that there may be multiple players using the same player name at the same time. It helps when you want to tell them apart much easier, without necessarily having to go digging through the applicable name files and potentially messing them up at all, I think.

I'm somewhat familiar with certain kinds of files, of course, but I still often mistype and all. And I don't really want to take the chance of messing things up if I don't have to, when it comes to certain kinds of computer files, for obvious reasons.

I'm not sure yet how I'd approach the Sailor Moon or Love Hina-inspired teams, in terms of their related requests. But for the former, there were eleven chief superhero-type characters, who represented the nine planets of the Solar System and the Moon, in outfits with different colors to them, depending on the planet they represented or the Moon, as the case might be for each of them.

As for the latter, there were six or seven main characters, not counting certain other largely supporting characters. Any team-related items would probably be using the main colors that those characters normally are portrayed as wearing, I think, in certain pictures, of course.

As I said, it might take a while to find enough good pictures to post or links to list for both relevant media franchises. But if I can find them and post or list them within about a week or two, I might be able to get at least a few items for either the Juuban team or the Hinata team made. The fonts might be hard for me to match well, if I were able to somehow make some related items for those teams. But maybe someone could make up some wordmarks for those teams, along with appropriate logos and all, just the same, somehow.

In any case, if I don't somehow actually have a Kyoto Emperors team currently in any of my existing dynasties, which I happen to doubt at the moment, I fully intend to create one as soon as I can for at least one of them, or for a future dynasty, for sure. Those items are too good NOT to use, MOST DEFINITELY. I am VERY pleased with them, in fact. CD out.

Graphics for teams will be posted as I can make them, when possible and all, to go along with images I may have already collected from various places on the Internet, or may have made already for certain relevant teams that I've not yet posted certain graphics for here. I have now collected many school-related logos, for instance, but haven't yet been able to make related uniforms and/or caps, for various reasons, including the fact that it may be difficult to find suitable fonts to match those on real-world team-related items well.

Right now, I'm trying to largely focus on finishing the first draft of my main story, just as EC and TC_Dale and others have already suggested that I do, whether here or elsewhere, folks. Once I do that well enough to suit me here, I will then resume playing OOTP and/or FHM, and resume posting graphics work as quickly as I can, as best as I can, and as often as I can, until I begin working on my main story's next draft. Before I do that, though, I want to spend at least a week or two playing OOTP and/or doing other things, so that I can hopefully better recharge my literary batteries with it, so to speak.

Baseball is mentioned frequently in this writing project of mine, but it is not a main plot element here, to be sure. However, various teams I have used or will use in my dynasties will probably be mentioned at least once or twice, in any case, I think, if not more often than that. Whether real or fictional, that is.

I hope to finish the first draft of this story by my birthday, but it's still proving to be a bit difficult here to do so well enough. I will keep plugging away at it, though, and finish it as best as I can, and as quickly as I can, then set it aside for a while, once done, to do other things. I intend to continue covering my existing dynasties, or start covering them, where I haven't yet done so here, as soon as possible, once this main story's first draft has finally been finished sufficiently well. Please watch the forums for updated related threads of mine, or new threads covering them, as the need or desire then arises, folks.
