Deleted a suggestion... I changed my mind... upon a second look, my suggested alteration of one of the jerseys turned out to be bad advice... what you did was better.

I can often make uniforms, and I can make caps, for various teams, whether real or fictional, in truth. But I've not yet been able to make good original logos without help or without likely first going to various sites that can perhaps be used to create said logos, if at all, unfortunately.
Just like I still can't actually make ballparks all by myself here, for instance. I don't like it, obviously, but those things still are as they currently are here, just the same, for sure. Just so you know. Either now or in the past, to be sure. CD out.

If I can get better pictures of the real-world items for the two relevant schools, I might perhaps revisit the above items and/or make new uniforms and/or caps for their teams. But I haven't necessarily been able to find them yet, most likely, so I tried to do the best I could with them, just the same. I tried to make Aitkin's logos here, at least, more transparent here, if not also Mora's, though, to be sure. Again, I didn't actually make the relevant logos for both teams here, just so you know, EC. CD out.

No, they were already put together, actually. I found them online, and I just tried to make them each more transparent, wherever and whenever I then did so. At least for Aitkin, if not also for Mora. I don't believe I did so for the larger Mora logo, but I may have done so for the smaller Mora one, in any case, though, at the very least. CD out.

Well, whatever CD... however you came up with the Mora Mustangs and Aitkin Gobblers, they are very good-looking logos.
As long as you don't claim that you created the artwork and the wordmarks, it is fine to use them in your leagues... no one will get upset with you if you use their creations to make your logos. Try to give credit to the creator if you know who did it. Last edited by Eugene Church; 11-19-2022 at 11:02 AM. |

Wadena-Deer Creek's Wolverines might be the next team I tackle, and both Wadena and Deer Creek are places somewhat west of Brainerd elsewhere in Minnesota. I might also try to do Staples-Motley's Cardinals after them, along with several other schools, whether real or fictional, from Minnesota, before I then try and tackle certain other teams from other states. Whether they're high school teams or travel baseball teams, at that, just so you know.
I may try and tackle some Illinois schools or travel teams from there that others, including Lawn Loaf, likely haven't done, based on various logos I've found, at least, if not also real-world uniforms and/or caps as well, in truth. May also pick up other random teams from various states, including Minnesota, for instance, every so often, as best and as often as I can, just in case others might potentially be interested in using them in their games. Baxter, Minnesota actually has Lake Region Christian School present somewhere in it, but I may also possibly do some items for a fictional school there, at some point. As for possible logo imagery related to that potential fictional school in Baxter, I'll have to think about it for a while, I think, just so you know. CD out.

Of course I won't actually claim Mora and Aitkin-related logo work for myself, in terms of who's responsible for its creation and all, if I don't actually do it myself, EC. That'd be totally wrong, and quite unethical and all, you know. And definitely wouldn't be right at all for me to do in the Master's eyes, and all, for sure. So I won't, and I can't possibly do so, at least knowingly, obviously. CD out.

CD, why don't you spend time writing your novel?
I would think that is the most important thing in your life right now, isn't it? Focus on writing the novel. Stop using your time to collect or create logos, jerseys and caps for OOTP leagues you don't play... use that time to work on your novel. |

I was just complimenting your much-improve graphics work and the fact that you could create logos... the reason I think it is much-improved is that you did them in a traditional style and didn't use unique color combinations that rarely, if ever, looked good. If you did all of your jerseys like Mora and Aitken, people would probably use your creations and ask you to do personal requests for them. Your recent work is much more mass appeal and the way they want their graphics to be. No need to reply to my comments... spend the time more productively on your novel. ![]() |

I'm trying hard to do that, but sometimes it's not coming as quickly and as easily as I might like and all, to be sure, EC. Finding useful information online about various subjects isn't always easy, either, for instance. Add to that, I've never really been able to travel much in my life, unless it's due to moving with my family to various places. Nor do I have certain other kinds of personal experiences that most people may have already have or often do have in their lives, as well.
I've never been part of the military, but there are fighters in my stories at times, for example. I've played various video games like Star Trek Online or various Civilization games, to name a few such games, but I'm still not quite sure just how to plan out the final battle chapter yet for this story, especially seeing as it will be taking place in multiple locations all over the applicable nation's territory. Mostly on land, though there will be some sea-based fighting for it, as well. Without spoiling the relevant story in question here too much, hopefully, my narrator is currently the chief mentor to someone who may turn out to be the most famous military and/or political figure in his nation's history in time, no matter what that nation calls itself at times. And to many others around that character as well, for that matter. However, Garrett McConnell will not be able to be in at least ten different locations during that final battle chapter at the same time, of course. So I'll have to use at least that many narrators to tell the story of the final battle in the current story, it seems, like it or not, because that nation is quite large here, for sure. I'm quite sure that it'll eventually get done, Lord willing and all. But it's still just at least a bit frustrating, at least, for me here, when it's not coming as much and all as I then might want it to and all. It's not all that easy to write a plausible enough story at times, though, when you have to have at least a fairly good-sized cast for a particular story, in truth. Or when you're having trouble finding the information you may want or need to find in order to write such a story, as well. CD out.

Use one narrator, CD.... just have battle reports sent to him and he can relay it in the book to the readers.
Not to damper your enthusiasm and aspirations, but how likely will it be that your novel will be published?.... you have as much a chance of publishing your novel as you have of playing in the Major Leagues or the NBA. Bottom line, do the novel because you get enjoyment from it... you can write about battles even if you haven't been in the military... do a little research on the internet... what is it like to be in a war?... see what comes up.... just do a little research and use it in your novel. When I was in high school... at best I had a little chance of playing college baseball or basketball... much less of playing in the NBA or MLB. People need to be realistic in appraising their chances of success in any endeavor or occupation... dreams won't do it... but hard work will help many times... do you know that hard work often beats talent a lot?... in my radio career I was not the most talented disc jockey and radio announcer, but I often could outperform more talented people because I worked harder at the job... not bragging or boasting, but I was always the most popular disc jockey at my stations... not the most talented... but the hardest working and the best prepared. 2% of college players will ever make MLB or NBA.... that's according to Charles Barkley... yet you ask a young black kid what he wants to be, he'll almost always say play in the NBA... not realistic, at all... nope, not realistic at all... more people should be like Sir Charles and tell the truth to the young folks. Now get back to working "hard" on your novel... as you now know, since I told you, working hard beats talent. Last edited by Eugene Church; 11-19-2022 at 01:08 PM. |

Of course it does, many times. A lot of people don't put in the real sustained effort it often takes to do something well. I'm not necessarily the best writer, mind you, but I often do try to do the best I can with one of my projects, no matter what it is, or what it has been in the past. I try not to rush chapters needlessly, especially when my stories may have somewhat complex plots and all for them, to be sure. And it often takes time to make sure they read as well as they can here, too, for that matter.
That's no doubt why a lot of supposedly can't-miss players never actually panned out well enough in real life, in various sports, I'm sure. The history of many sports is often littered with draft busts, while many lower-drafted and less-known players turn out to do quite well, much to many people's great surprise at times. And the same principle goes or has gone, often, for many other occupations in life, as well, as you and I and many others no doubt know in our lives, or have known in them. Right, EC? CD out.

I'll consider the idea of having the reports sent to Garrett in the story, for sure, but I do have to say that it may not be possible in this story as the battle in question is being waged, EC. I'll have to see where I am with the story at that time first, I think, just so you know. But I do thank you just the same for your advice related to it, in any case.
I'm not sure if my Dad has a lot of books related to 16th Century-style combat, for instance, but I suppose I could try and find out and all, at some point, if I haven't already done so. Especially if and when I can finally get the necessary geographical details locked down sufficiently well in my relevant story or stories, of course, EC. poiuy is really doing a great job on the logos he's been doing for my current relevant request thread, for sure. Once I have all the needed league and/or subleague logos for this Forlchul Baseball Society-related dynasty, seeing as I already have the needed logos for all the teams in it at present, that should allow me to play for a while, if and when I'm able to find time to do so well enough. And not likely need to request any more logos, more or less, except for a few here and there as the need or desire might then arise, while I'm still working on my story or stories as best as I can, and all. I wouldn't mind seeing a few of those MILBxMarvel logos perhaps being slightly modified, if possible, though. The one for the Springfield Cardinals, for example, could perhaps use a cardinal head pointing the other way, with an eyeball included for it, I think. That way I could perhaps use it for certain other teams I've already included in a few of my leagues and/or dynasties before. The teams I wouldn't probably mind too much seeing mirrored from how they are now for the relevant logos would be the Augusta GreenJackets, Cedar Rapids Kernels, Iowa Cubs, Memphis Redbirds, Round Rock Express, Springfield Cardinals, and the Winston-Salem Dash. In Augusta and Springfield's cases, however, I'd definitely not want their text flipped needlessly, of course, and I'd certainly want the TM mark to be relocated as appropriate for all of the relevant teams here, for the obvious reasons. I could certainly use that St. Paul Saints logo if I wanted to make another potential St. Peter Saints set, I think. Although I'd probably not be able to use the exact same font in anything I'd make using it as is present in that logo, you know, I could certainly add letters and perhaps even a period as well, in the related additional design or designs here, I'm reasonably sure, if that logo's sufficiently sized later at some point. I'll eventually get this story done, somehow, Lord willing and all, no doubt. I hope that when it is done, at least in terms of its first draft, if not later drafts as well, I'll quickly be able to get to work on the next one, even while the first draft or any other draft is then being looked through, at least. I had a plan years ago for this setting, but life events got in the way, as they often do for many, and certain papers and computer files most likely got lost or somehow otherwise inaccessible and all, along the way. Originally, I was planning to start from when one or more of my main characters had just become a legal adult by his culture's standards of adulthood. But the relevant story idea or setting didn't seem plausible enough or fleshed out enough, by November 2019 at the latest, it seems to me, if memory serves me correctly. So that caused me to think, I believe, "What if I started his story at or around the time he was born?" From that, I got the idea to start writing this main story here, and now I'm perhaps about four or so pages, more or less, into chapter 17 of it, just over three years later, in the real world we both currently inhabit. There's still quite a bit more time left before the planned final battle in this story, but eventually, he'll get to that age in his life, if and when he manages to survive that battle, of course. Without spoiling the story too much, Garrett is that main character's chief mentor at the present time, but I don't know yet just how his likely permanent future absence might affect that main character and others currently around both Garrett and that main character, once this story ends. I also don't know yet just how much I'll include Garrett in potential future stories, as an active character, if I do. But we'll all still have to see how things develop in the future here for everyone who's sufficiently involved in certain related things and all here, if I'm somehow able to write more stories in this setting here well enough. Lord willing and all, of course. CD out.

Florida evidently needs more help than Tampa Bay does at present, so I think Bradley Parverol is ultimately going to be starting his playing career on the Florida Marlins here, and perhaps as a middle infielder/outfielder like his father Barrett still is. I'll try to have his profile and the profiles for Duncan James Freeman and Otis Garber all sent your way here within the next 24 to 48 hours or so, if I possibly can.
In the meantime, if you could please show me both of the current main player pages for the Marlins' Patrick Spears and John Fruge, that might perhaps help me out here too. I'd really like to see if they'd perhaps be able to be moved elsewhere for the Marlins on the field when Bradley Parverol arrives for Florida or not, if I can, for instance. Thanks. CD out.

All right, Bradley Parverol is definitely going to be given middle infield ratings, as well as outfield ratings at all three positions, at the very least. He will not be proposed as a two-way pitcher, though, in any case, by default. Most of the Marlins are probably older than 30 years old, I figure, especially the two players seen above. So there should almost certainly be a very good chance he'll crack the Florida Marlins' lineups from the start, or very soon afterward, if I propose some strong enough ratings for him in certain areas of his profile, it seems to me here, sometime in 1903.
All right, we can both likely decide which team Otis starts on by the end of the 1903 postseason run, I think, and that will probably be in the National League, so that he can compete against the Freemans easier here, I think, starting in 1904. I'm leaning toward Houston for him, in truth, though. Just so you know, jg2977. Of course, Duncan James Freeman will be playing on St. Louis, I'm quite sure, when he ultimately debuts, as will Elijah Moses Freeman. As for each of the relevant Morses and Tulachs for at least the second generation, we'll have to decide where they'll each start out later, as well, you know. CD out.

You can decide whichever team your players can go on. IPA will be acceptable too, since their ratings will be reasonable. But if you want your players to have better chances of winning titles, probably MLB is better right now. Teams in the IPA like Fort Benton, Kilkenny, Blue Lake and Hillsboro are still dominating that league.
