Peterson is gonna hit the DL with a neck strain at this rate of giving up rockets that need looking-after.....

Mets got within three feet on Soto's 1-out homer in the ninth inning of getting no-hit by Gavin Williams.

Which is really all you can really say about this game. Coulda been at least a "hey, remember Chris Heston?" game. Now it's just any stinkin' old loss.

42-42 since April. 1-5 in August.

Off to the land of sausages, where David "Wild Turkey" Stearns's former team has the best record in baseball and have gone 20-4 lately.

I do applaud Stephen Vogt for not only leaving Williams in to go for the no-no, but not even getting anybody up behind him in the 8th, so that he [Vogt] wouldn't be tempted to panic.

Billion Dollar Babies? Billion Dollar Busts. Billion Dollar Bums

If I were on this Mets team and I saw Mr. 765

a) take the wrong route going back on Arias's long fly
b) misplay the carom off the wall
c) double-clutch the throw, allowing 39-year-old fat man Carlos Santana to score from first, and
d) just lob the throw in, allowing Arias to take 3B on the "triple"

…well, I wouldn't swing on Juan, but I'd tell him "nice hustle" with enough sarcasm that might cause him to swing on me, and I'd be ready to give him a receipt.

BTW, not to jump the gun, but if we get swept in Beer City, who gets fired? I don't think Stearns or Mendoza as yet, but I wouldn't mind seeing Mike Sarbaugh and/or Antuan Richardson get their P-40, and I know people are calling for Eric Chavez's head as well.

Jeremy Hefner might get the "look at the work he's doing with the pile of **** he has" pass, but at some point he might get asked to take responsibility for NOBODY but Peterson being able to go 6, so…

I'm firing whoever in the front office argued for that steaming pile of **** would work as a rotation, last winter. The rest can stay for the remainder of the season. We might still get a wild card (it's like 7 teams for 6 spots in the NL), I'd hate to rock up for a wild card crapshot with a bunch of interims.

Read the previous comments, man. We'll be shocked if y'all fumble it. Perhaps even slightly disappointed…

As much as I'm in favor of firing Mike Sarbaugh… (search the thread for my previous comments)…I'd have sent Marte, too. Not Mike's fault. This time.

Now, if we want to discuss the "ace" who can't make it through five innings…or Brooks Raley, with that clutch HPB to force in the winning run…

Marte is a MILLION years old. Of course he's getting thrown out at the plate. Has anybody SEEN him run???

Not that this was the main problem with the game. The main problem was the usual ****: can't hit, can't pitch, can't field. And if Alvarez keeps sticking his ******* paws into swing paths I'll have to sever them with my own claws and cram them somewhere dark.

Alvarez might actually be the most overrated player on the entire team. Useless on offense, useless behind the dish. Doesn't even make the shortlist for the team's sexy 2026 calendar. Why bother?

Why bother with anything?

Watching Carson Whisenhunt give up homer after homer to the Gnats, and patiently waiting for the Tennessee Power Tool to hit his first career homer (or hit) on the other side of the box score.

As for the Mutts, we got 3 home runs! Which added up to…3 runs. Also McNeil got a hustle double and Cedy Mullins singled him home.

Meanwhile, how is our $341,000,000 worth of SS doing?

AT BAT: takes a called strike 3 with the bases loaded to end an inning, then GiDP with 1B/3B to end another inning

In the FIELD: makes a crucial error with the bases loaded to allow two runs.

Add in Frankie Mown-ass barely going five innings, Ryne Stank continuing to Stink, and Ronnie Mauricio making us appreciate GG Swaggy V's defense at 3B with an error that lead to 3 UER when Ryan Hellish couldn't get a 4th out.

Jesus ****ety-****. Please fire SOMEBODY. Hell, fire the whole staff and promote the guys at Syracuse, then move the Rumble Pony staff to Syracuse and so forth.

(Congrats to Polar Pete. Now sit down tomorrow so Darryl doesn't have to fly to Milwaukee. I mean, who wants to go to Milwaukee?)

Just two behind Daryl Strawberry for the Mets franchise record now.
Weirdly, Daryl lives about a mile from me, in a suburb of St. Louis. He is all over town, and I see him a couple of times per year.

Yeah, his current wife is a Gateway Gal, or whatever you call the local ladies. (Probably not that.)

I should also mention that Mr 765 is working pretty hard at making me mad at his continued lack of hustle, which I suppose is ironic or something. Not running out what could have been the final out of the game because you thought it was foul? Are you shirting me? And it was a Buckner-ball; there was a decent chance So-So could have beaten the 1B to the bag, as Mookie always claims he would have done to Billy Bucks.

So, given a second chance when the umps huddle and change the call, what does So-So do? Strikes out on an attempted checked swing. Thanks for trying, Juan! Or "trying", actually.

(I know, he homered earlier in the game. But the stink of "My work here is done" coming through the TV was…not great. JMO.)

PEEEEEEETE!!!!!

I refuse to engage with the rest of Saturday's ********, although I found the general picture of rain seeping in through the roof pretty fitting for how the Mets' season was going.

The defensive clunkers, the lack of hustle, the general lack of clutch, the all-encompassing stench of failure, and I haven't even BEGUN to talk about the Mets tossers here.....

Please also consider that I play OOTP most of the time while watching the morning-after Mets, and the Raccoons are on a 13-35 run, so the misery is getting a bit much now.

Ron Cey—what??

Didn't a certain Brewer-backer used to taunt us about "Get a roof, ya scrubs"??

They're all useless.

Led 5-0 in the fourth. Still ******* blew it.

Manaea was useless. No team has gone 53+ games without at least TWO pitchers putting up at least ONE start each of 6+ innings pitched in the modern era. You can stuff them all down the woodchipper (sans Peterson). Nobody will miss 'em.

The offense did something, then gradually returned to doing nothing. Couple o' homers, couple o' Pete doubles.

On defense everything was hit through the seams - or outta the park. Like that Uranus-bound blast that Boom-Boom gave up to Collins to end the ******* ballgame.

Also, why is Boom-Boom standing around in the pen doing NOTHING (which he's done all week!) for about FIVE MINUTES while Helsley is tossing garbage with a skinny 6-5 lead, and then comes in as soon as he's FINALLY blown the lead?? What use is he gonna be NOW???? Was that particular box on your ******* chart not ******* green enough???

Manaea - useless
Garrett - useless
Raley - useless
Helsley - useless
Boom-Boom - useless
Lindor - useless
Soto - useless
Nimmo - useless
Mauricio - useless
Alvarez - ******* useless
Baty - useless

There's probably more but I have already forgotten ... why ... (clenches fists, shaking) ... because ..... HHHRRGAAAHHH!!!
