Pictured in a mid-season team photo with the 1875 St. Louis Brown Stockings. Not an ideal image, but better than nothing.

On a side note, the majority opinion is that the 2nd photo depicts Miller. He was the starting catcher for St. Louis that year and was of slight build. Though it is hard to compare these two images, this is the player that matches up the best. Miller tragically died early in 1876 while traveling with the team in Philadelphia.

There are at least four early Vault photos (one of which has been used elsewhere) of Jackie Moore as an Angels catcher. I feel I am missing something obvious,. but does anyone have any documentation as to when he came and went -- including the year?

Moore and Leo Marentette were purchased by the Angels from Syracuse in October, 1963 (The Sporting News clip) and returned to Syracuse in March 1964 (Syracuse Post Standard photo and caption).

According to Jackie Moore's Sporting News Contract File, he joined the L.A. Angels on 10/11/1963 and left them for the Syracuse minor league club on 3/27/1964. See the link below for the file.
