EC, I think I can safely say, that if the Lord allows it, that I'd quite gladly read much more about the IPA you're running now if it could and did actually go past 100 seasons of existence. And that any number of other people here on the forums would too, if they could, in like manner, here.
But, of course, we don't know yet exactly what the future might hold for any or all of us until it arrives for each of us in this world of God's own creation several thousand years ago out of nothingness. At least not while we're still in it, that is, you know. Much less how much time we each have left in it before we depart this life for our eternal destinations, whatever they might be for each of us, at that. I do know this for sure, however, among other things I do know, in my life, at this point in time for it here. We won't be wasting time being idle-minded and all, at least, in any case, supposing we actually make it to Heaven. We'll be doing whatever we were each originally meant to do when we were first created by God, I firmly believe, no matter what it might then be in eternity, as our future circumstances might then allow in it. I've often wondered just what that might be here in my case, to be sure, EC. I hope to find out someday, if and when I can, and also find out what God had actually planned for my dear brother's life in this world, but wasn't actually possible for him to have experienced in it, as well. I really also hope to see him again in eternity, too, if and when I possibly can, come to think of it. CD out.

CD, I haven't found a St. Louis Cardinals with a white baseball on it. If you can find one I'll gladly import it into my game.

Do you have The OOTP Ultimate Historical Graphics Pack? If so, look for the 1967 to 1997 logo the St. Louis Cardinals used in its logo subfolder. Hopefully, the baseball would then be white, not gray as it is now, in your related screenshots. It could be appearing that way, too, because of the dark skin you're using in your relevant game here, I think. I generally play with the light or the classic skin, if memory serves me correctly here, jg2977. CD out.

The baseball in the logo seems to be transparent. I'll try the light skin again to see what it looks like. Although a lot of my other logos are designed to look good on the dark skin.

jg2977, the logos you get from me are made for a black background, which is what I use in my IPA... many times you have to add a white border to show up well on the black skin... sometimes you have to add a white background to a logo to get it to show up well on the black skin.

I started using the classic skin, and everything seems to show up just fine now. So I’ll just leave it on that

I'm hoping I can get at least the first draft of my main story completed by my next birthday somehow, but not sure if I'll actually be able to do that here well enough just yet. I now have just under 90 days to do it in here, it seems. For my next birthday's in mid-February, as many may know here by now, in truth, and I still have at least six to eight more chapters to write for it than I currently have written for it.
I've been trying to cut out many likely needless words for already-existing text and all, but it's not as easy to do as I might want it to be. I'll probably have to cut at least 50-100 pages of overall text for it, or even rewrite much or all of the entire story, in order to tighten it up and all, between the first draft and the final draft of it, I think, in any case. At the rate I'm going for it, I'll probably have the first draft of the story end up at around 500 pages, more or less. I'd like to perhaps have the final draft top out at about 400 manuscript pages, more or less, for its main text, and perhaps have about 25 or so pages, more or less, of related reference material, for the manuscript. Reference material like a glossary of terms and various maps, for instance, if possible. To be honest, I don't actually expect a final draft of this entire story to be done well enough here somehow within just three to six months of the first draft's completion, folks. But hopefully I'll somehow actually have a suitably good one done here before November 2023. Lord willing and all, of course, you know. Once I have Lighting Up the Darkness's first draft done, perhaps I can start work on Book Two of a potential series here, I think. Although I'm not quite sure yet just how things would then perhaps go in that next story for a potential book series, seeing as the narrator of this story probably won't be a major part of Book Two for it, if he's even in it at all somehow as a character. Without potentially spoiling things too much here, I plan to have another major character narrate the majority of Book Two. Book Three would probably be mostly narrated by the special lady for Book Two's main narrator. Then Book Four would probably be mostly narrated by the chief advisor to the primary narrators of Books Two and Three, if I somehow do manage to get at least that far here at some point, in due turn, with a story series here, according to the Lord's willing and all, of course. After that, I haven't really figured out just who'd potentially be the main narrators for later possible volumes, to be completely honest here with you all. What will be, will be, as the Lord then allows and all, I'm sure, in any case. I may not even be able to somehow get to a potential fifth book in a series like this, in truth. But we'll all just have to see what the future still holds for me and many others in this world, you know, folks. If I ever do manage it, somehow, with the Lord's grace and all, then so be it. If not, then so be it as well, for sure. I still will seek to follow Him in my own mortal life, as best as I can, for as long as He still allows me to live it here in this world, most definitely, come what may in this world of ours, good or bad, though. CD out.

EC, without potentially spoiling my main story too much, when someone is questioning their loyalties in their lives, what could they perhaps be questioning their loyalties to in them? So far I've worked out that they could perhaps be questioning their loyalties to the following people or things in their lives, at times:
God (Theological/religious/spiritual beliefs, et cetera) Family (Including spouses, of course, if present) Friends Associates Strangers Nations What else could they perhaps be questioning their loyalties to in their lives besides the above, in your view? I'd like to know what you think here, if I can, please. My narrator will have to question his loyalties in the story for a while during this current chapter, before my story's climax at the end of it, you see. And I'm not quite sure just how to write him doing so well enough here yet, unfortunately, EC. Do you perhaps have any good suggestions about that sort of thing here, then? Please advise as you like and can here. Okay? Thank you. CD out.

Sorry, CD... I'm not into philosophical writings... I am not a deep thinker.
To be honest, I am tired of you telling that you are having trouble writing this novel... do one of two things... jump right in and finish the novel... just begin writing whatever comes out of your head and put that down...finish it. You can always go back and review it and make changes and rewrites later. Just finish the darn book and see what you come up with. Concentrate totally on the book... forget your OOTP dream leagues that you never play... for a while just concentrate totally on the book and finish it. Also, CD... no one seems to be interested in your novel... no one ever comments on it or shows any interest... you are the only person with any interest in it... just write for yourself... get busy and finish the novel and see what you come up with. Take the time that you spend writing about your problems writing the novel and use that time to WRITE THE NOVEL. Last edited by Eugene Church; 11-17-2022 at 11:15 AM. |

Eugene has a good point. Writing takes everything, all your concentration, and the thought process of working things out, and getting the words on the paper or document online. Accept his opinion, and the advice he gives and go finish that novel, he isn't trying to be mean, just stating facts. Finish the story, and then concentrate on the steps to getting it published. Good luck.

I'll certainly try, you know, TC Dale and EC. Of course, I gladly accept his opinion, whether or not I might agree with it at times, and I do appreciate his advice. I definitely know he's not trying to be mean and all, but to state facts here as simply and as fairly as he possibly can, and I do especially value his honesty, as well, for sure.
I suppose I'm at least a bit frustrated here at times whenever things may seem to not be going as well as I've hoped and all with it and/or other projects of mine, and it's probably bleeding into my posts at least a bit at times. Plus any number of other concerns I might have about certain other things in my life and/or this nation, et cetera, of course. While I'm not necessarily saying my AS is causing this frustration here and all, to be sure, it often makes it much harder for me to deal with certain things in my life, in any case. If I can just get past chapter 17, and/or get at least one sufficiently good map of the relevant nation or nations done by me or someone else soon enough, then I think I should be able to perhaps complete several more chapters by the end of the year, somehow. Those chapters would then probably cover most of the story's denouement chapters, I think, meaning that I'd just have one final battle chapter and then a wrap-up chapter for the entire story left to do, most likely. The wrap-up chapter could then hopefully lead into the next story fairly well, of course, if all goes sufficiently according to plan here for this story. I'm also trying to figure out how to write the rest of the story, especially parts of it ultimately leading up to the final battle chapter for it, which is definitely going to require me to have multiple narrators covering various parts for that final battle in various areas of the relevant nation, for instance. Seeing as my main story's current narrator definitely won't be able to be in ten or more places at once in the story, of course, that is. Also, I really want this current chapter to be the chapter with the story's climax in it, if at all possible, for sure. Just so you know. CD out.

I hopefully won't spoil the rest of the relevant story here, by doing so, but here are the titles that I currently have in mind for the current and otherwise-remaining chapters of this story here, just the same. Starting with the one that I currently have for chapter 17 of it, mind you:
Chapter 17: Questioning Loyalties Chapter 18: Decisions Made Chapter 19: Beware of Chronoquakes! Chapter 20: Precious Moments Chapter 21: Rising Sun Chapter 22: Turn the Page Chapter 23: Marshalling All Possible Resources Chapter 24: Shadowlanders Overcome Chapter 25: Reunions With Loved Ones I know what I basically want to perhaps see happen in relation to many of my sufficiently important characters in each remaining chapter, including the current one. But I'm still not quite sure how to actually do so well enough right now, unfortunately. As a result, I'm at least a bit frustrated here, to be sure, of course, folks. Just so you know. I want chapter 17 to be my story's climactic chapter, for it'd be the last planned chapter for part two of the story here, if at all possible here somehow. While chapter 24 would then be the last major chapter of the story here, in turn. But I'm not quite sure how to get between 17 and 24 plausibly enough and all here, just yet, to be sure, in any case. CD out.

Of all 96 of the just-released MiLB x Marvel logos, I'd probably have to say that my top ten logos in terms of alphabetical, but not necessarily in terms of my personal ranking, order here would most likely be as follows at present:
Asheville Tourists Augusta GreenJackets Buffalo Bisons Daytona Tortugas Memphis Redbirds Northwest Arkansas Naturals Round Rock Express St. Paul Saints Somerset Patriots Sugar Land Space Cowboys As for my least favorite ones, at present, at least in terms of alphabetical order, but not necessarily in my personal ranking order, I think they'd be the logos created for the following teams, most likely: Columbia Fireflies Dayton Dragons Great Lakes Loons Greenville Drive Inland Empire 66'ers Las Vegas Aviators Montgomery Biscuits Oklahoma City Dodgers San Jose Giants Wichita Wind Surge I don't know exactly where I'd rank all the other teams' new logos just yet, but many of them were good as well, for sure. While others, I'm not so keen on here, of course. We'll probably see someone create a thread later that includes everything done for the relevant teams here eventually, to be honest, but that probably won't be for at least a few days or weeks from now, I think. I'll surely be looking for that thread at some point, you know, though, folks. CD out.

They're probably in my top 20, but not likely in my top 15 or 12, I think. Some of those logos besides the ones I mentioned don't really look all that good to me, to be honest, at least from where I now am, though. CD out.

As for nation-related details, I'll have to look and see what I have currently for my fictional nations, in terms of appropriate details and all, for sure, jg2977, just in case you might perhaps want to include them in your dynasties at some point in the future. I have quite a few potential national flags and all, of course, as well, to be sure. But some nations still are lacking certain flags they need for them, in any case.
I've tried asking others on another site to perhaps make a few more flags for me, but they may not have been able to make them for me well enough, or chosen not to, and I'm not quite sure which here, in truth. Also some logos, as well, but they've either likely been unable to make them or chosen not to, at least, if I'm not too mistaken here. As for maps, I've not had much success, if any, in making them sufficiently well for my purposes, even as far as it may relate to certain nations mentioned or present in any or all of my various writing projects, unfortunately. Especially Slaabovia, for instance. By the time my current main project is done, though, I'll no doubt need several maps made, of course, in any case. Part of the difficulty I'm currently having with this project is most likely due to the simple fact that I don't currently have any sufficiently good maps of the land that I'm mainly basing the story in here, I think, unfortunately. If I had them, then I strongly believe I'd be able to do a lot more writing for this project in the very near future, for sure. Or I'd already have done it by now, at that. But I don't, to be sure, folks, at present. Hopefully, by the time I get the first draft done, though, I'll have at least something I can work with well enough, in terms of usable enough maps for the story, at least for starters. Preferably as soon as possible, though, of course, and most preferably before I get to the final battle chapter in the story, obviously enough, here. CD out.

CD, would you use a map similar to my map of Islandia and map of South Island?... I made them though it was quite a task to learn paint software at the same time.
#1: Do you like my maps? They are simple with no great details... personally I think they are too simple for you... your leagues and maps are very complex and too cluttered for me... I just like the basics. Be honest... do you like my maps?... no problem if you don't... we will still be friends. If a map would get you to finish this darn book... just teasing... let me rephrase that... if a map would get you to finish your novel, I would be willing to do it... but it will be plain and simple and only show major towns, rivers, seas, harbors and mountains... nothing fancy. It will not be complex and complicated like the maps that you want. Last edited by Eugene Church; 11-18-2022 at 11:58 AM. |

Someone just posted a request for logos and jerseys.
It is a very simple request... he just says do it the way you want to... no colors... no instructions... just modern MLB style. Just as a test... let's see if anyone does it for him. It's the Nashville Bluegrass thread posted today. Here is his simple post and request: Nashville Bluegrass Request Hello, I recently expanded my league and added the Nashville Bluegrass as one of the teams. I found good sets for my other changes, but nothing really for this. If anybody could make a logo and jersey set, I would really appreciate it. The only thing I care about is that it fits in modern day MLB, but I'm not picky otherwise. I think someone will do it even though it is hard to get a personal request done these days.
