At 93-68, the Guardians lead the AL Central by two games over the Minnesota Twins with just one game left in the season.
Cleveland will be the No. 2 seed in the AL playoffs with the Texas Rangers (99-62) having already clinched the top spot.
The playoff berth is the Guardians first since 2022.
Cleveland last made the World Series in 2016, when it lost to the Chicago Cubs.
The Guardians last World Series title was back in 1948, when they defeated the Boston Braves.

They waited until the final day, but the Tampa Bay Rays are the champions of the American League East Division after a 3-1 win over the Detroit Tigers on the final day of the season.
The Rays (91-71) finished the season two-games in front of the New York Yankees.
Tampa Bay will be the No. 3 seed in the AL playoffs and will face the Seattle Mariners in the opening round.
This will be the sixth straight playoff appearance for the Rays, but it is their first division title since 2020.
Tampa Bay has reached the World Series only one time, losing to the Philadelphia Phillies in the 2008 Fall Classic.
