To be honest I would have to go through and check service time for every single guy in the set and change it, which I really don't have time to do at this point. I think it's going to be a problem we'll have to cope with until OOTP 2009 and new roster sets come out.

Also- I don't really care about having exact to life MLB player contracts, so if I assigned fictional contracts to all players, would this correct the problem? Anyone know?

I would imagine not. I think you would have to fix the service time and I think the only option is to reset the service time.

what about players who come into the league via the draft? Will the problem take care of itself as players age, and new and younger players enter the universe/league?

Is the fielding problem with the set that shipped with OOTP8 cleared in this version?

History is going to be in the next release. Next release should be the last (or one of the last MAJOR ones) besides updating roster moves here and there. It'll include update ratings based on PECOTA and ZiPS as well.

Not going to hold you to it as I know real life intervenes, but any rough ballpark ETA on that update? Will be useful for a dynasty thread I'm constructing on a competitor to MLB, so I need a working MLB set to make it work.

Has anyone else noticed wierd minor league managers and coaches. Some for the orioles are contracted for $0 until 2262. Some are contracted until 2007 for $0 as well. I can edit the 2262 ones, but not the 2007 ones. I can't fire the 2007 ones either to fix it. For the AA Bowie Baysox, it has Artie Finley as the manager. When I click on him it says he's part of Boston's AAA team as the manager and I can't edit him. Any ideas?

Actually I just noticed Uzmir Changa is on A Delmarva Shorebirds with a contract until 2262 for $0, but when I click on him it says he's part of the college team the Minnesota Golden Gophers. I'm clueless at this point.

Just something I noticed. But there are thousands of free agent coaches/ scouts, several with better coaching, and scouting ratings than the the coaches on the actual teams. I don't know if that is a mistake or a problem for the game, or what.

Problem with the game, unfixable at this point unfortunately.

I feel like an idiot because I think I ask this everytime I download a new roster set, but... I can't figure out how to get the roster set into the game. I don't know where to extract the file to. I don't see any saved game file in the data section of my OOTP 8 folder. Can anybody help me out? I've been looking around for an answer for like an hour, but I can't find anything...

I also downloaded the Logos/Facepack, but I can't find a place to extract that to either.
