Well, maybe not. You do have him ranked 9th. In fact, your spot on.

Its way too early IMO to start suggesting ratings changes without people running several test sims to build up a sample size to suggest who is over/under performing, etc. Last edited by Scott Vibert; 06-20-2007 at 11:00 AM. |

Anyway we can open up another forum for rating discussions? Not sure if its me or not, but it makes it tough to find updates on the set itself.

My take on the Pirates: #34 seemed low to me for McCutchen...he projects to be a 5-tool player, but since the list obviously includes a lot of major leaguers and not just minors, maybe that isn't so bad. Brad Lincoln and Neil Walker should be on the list over Paul Maholm.

Sorry to throw one more prospect question in, but the Tigers are lacking in the prospect department. Detroit only has Verlander in the top 100 according to the game, but according to the actual baseball of America they have two additional players in the top 10.

Different ranking systems between OOTP and Baseball America causes this. Attempting to makie OOTPs list match Baseball America's on a 1-1 basis would likely cause current minor league prospects to be overrated in the roster set. |

I definitely agree and understand that, but those two players are in the top 10...I am just wondering how far down the list they would have been in OOTP's rankings.

As for Brandon Morrow, I'd think that he (and Jose Garcia and Jonathan Sanchez) must already have SP-level endurance (100+) or else there's no way OOTP would rank them in the list with those ratings, so I don't know if a change is needed there. The selected position makes no difference to OOTP's ranking, only the underlying ratings. By my count, there are about 30 sophomore players on Cubby's list, so we should really only be talking about the top 70 on BA's top 100 anyway, because of the difference between OOTP and BA's eligibility criteria. And Scott's point is a good one; the lists should not correspond exactly, for many reasons. I'm concerned that there may be too many pitchers on the list (OOTP only ranks elite pitching prospects, unlike real life BA), but I'll await sim results to see if that is indeed the case. |

Cameron Maybin, the other Tiger in BA's top 10, was discussed above- Cubby has rated him highly, which is good to know. I should point out that some prospects may be penalized in the OOTP ranking because they have been assigned to a low level of the minors.

Going to start a new thread for rating suggestions I believe. I think this thread is close to death by the time Sunday rolls around.

Well we have a problem, the roster set is botched.
NOT! ![]() We averted a small crisis in the last few days, as players would randomly disappear from teams when the computer simmed. I figured this was the latest snafu in the long line of OOTP roster snafus (I like using that word). However with some help from our fearless leader (Markus for those of you who don't remember), the ship was righted, and we're back to editing! The problem apparently was with one of the minor leagues NOT allowing AI roster moves, which in turn messes up the whole game when you have the computer automanage (and it can't). Who would have knew? So anyway I haven't talked to hb yet, but I think we're back on track, minus a day. I am still optimistic about a weekend release, but we will be back to let you know more as soon as possible. (Markus can verify this ACTUALLY happened, I'm not looking for a reason to delay the set )
