I don't think it's fair to compare the two together. Erich has done a lot for this community over the years. A lot. I think you need to give him the benefit of the doubt when it comes to something like this as we have no way of knowing whether he's had a life altering incident that has prevented him from posting.

The snake-bitten trolls need to go away. Just because AP was a fraud doesn't mean that all roster makers are a fraud. Erich has provided great rosters since as long as I can remember. I would like to see this finished too, but slandering someone doesn't help that get finished. I hope that he gets in contact with someone soon if possible

Wow, Its sad to see this thread starting to go the direction of APs fraudulent thread.

I would still give Erich the benefit of the doubt. Life does get in the way of things, especially projects as ambitious as this.

I have just gone through above mentioned "APs Thread" now.
I think everybody should at least read the thread before throw in any comments here. (including me.... I posted a while ago in this thread without doing so, and I think I really should have)

I personally do not want to see a thread like THAT again in this forum anymore, and I think we, except for the ones who helped creating this roster in any ways, should try to be relax, and wait for Rolen to speak up again whenever he has anything to say.

I really hope everybody take time, and check out the above mentioned thread(s).

Back on discussion, I just want Rolen to pass this file off to myself or someone else. I don't want any credit for doing it, I just want to get it released.

I'm sorry your hard work has gone for naught to this point. I do believe Errich probably has a good reason for not being around lately and not finishing his set. Based on his past work, I would personally give him the benefit of the doubt.

However, I also question the necessity of another roster set at this point. Not that there could ever be too many opinions on ratings and such, but I think having one thorough roster set would be enough for now.

So in that spirit, may I suggest that you consider helping with CubbyFan's set instead? I don't know if you still have a copy of the work you did or even if it's anything he still needs, but you never know. And even if that's not something he can use, maybe you can help with some other aspect of this set. I know it would suck to have to shelve all the work you've already done, but maybe it would soften the sting to know you contributed on a set whose release is imminent. Even though I have every confidence that Cubby's set will be released within the next week or so, I know there's still some work to be done. You could even help me out entering some last-minute info. (Plus, there's always the full minors to work on after the first version is complete!)

Anyway, just a thought. If you'd like to help out, PM me.

Understandable, but really a shame as Erich had ALREADy completed full minors...But I guess if the set is never released that would be a moot point. All we can do is wait.

Actually, rosters aside for a sec...Can anyone who knows or talks to Erich personally confirm that everything is ok with him? It has been a while since we've heard from him. I'd feel a bit better to know he's ok and that life is just hectic right now.

I talk to Erich almost 3 or 4 times a week. His schedule is tight and work is tough right now, but, health wise he is fine. He continues to work on the set, I mentioned he should stop by and give an update even if a little one, to let folks know how things are going.

I am asking that anyone that has helped him in the last 30-60 days might fire off an email to him to see how he is doing and offer any help that he might need. You can use the board software PM/email system to send one to him.

That is the latest as of tonight.

I know he was working on the file Monday night as I briefly talked to him. I know there was a small problem with the file that I believe he corrected.

Thats all I got right now, but good news from this, he is working on it still.

I think it's safe to assume for all intents and purposes this project is dead...Haven't seen an update in almost a month- I think Erich is just too busy- and apparently ran into complications as well.

I actually have the exported copy of rolen's roster file in excel. With Erich's permission, I would like to create like an open source thing for people to edit and do what they wish with it. I know the file I have of his, the ratings need fixed but atleast all the players are included in the file. Does this seem ok to anyone?

That would be great. How much to the ratings need worked on? And I know there was an issue with birthdays being off. Is that an issue with the set you have?
