We all realize that things can happen, but I think most might agree that AP could at least give us a 30 swcond post to tell us something. This has become the biggest thread on the board, over 13,000 reads, 300 posts, and he created it al by making promises, let us know something.

I would like to personally apologize for any harsh things I may have said. I am just frustrated with what happened last year sticking in the back of mind. AP, I hope all is well.

I have been a lurker on this board for quite some time and I am looking forward to the rosters. That being said. I hope AP refuses to release them. I would be sad but I would completely understand. The display on this board has been shameful.

I'm not going to sit here and say what I said was right because I was pretty frustrated (and still am) but not releasing the roster is not the right move. If he charged for the rosters I would be ok with paying or even donating him money for his time and effort. But I do realize bitching and complaining about him missing his guarantee is not helping any. I have apologized to him and the board for anything I might of said but in the same aspect, if he doesn't have time or has a problem, he should pass the project on. There are a number of people here, including myself that is ready to lend a helping hand at moment's notice.

Question Would you pay more if SI....

Paid for the rights to the real players from MLB? I wonder how much it would cost them or drive up the price of the game? How much would you be willing to pay for this game with real MLB rosters that include minors?

Has someone asked this question before? I know allot of you love this game for it's fictonal play so you do not have to answer this question. But to the ones that do want real rosters I would like to hear what you have to say. Maybe it could be an option like purchasing the cd is.

Thoughts or comments?

I'd be very interested in hearing what an MLB license would cost.

If the game costs $35, I personally would spend an extra $15 to get the license. Not much more, because I know it can be done manually, even if it is a pain.

I'd be very curious to see how much the game would cost w/ real rosters included. I'd pay up to $60 for it.

Definitely not. If OOTP were to pay for the MLBPA license, I doubt the simulation would be as customizable as it is now. It would kill any hope for fictional leagues as the game would have to abide by MLB rules.

If it were to receive a MLBPA license, then I believe OOTP would eventually die out. I hope this is not the case, and Markus decides to stick with the current formula of fan-generated roster sets, historical leagues with the Lahman DB, and fictional leagues.

People on both sides of this "argument" have been childish, and both of them have legit points.

AP made a public non-coerced statement about when the rosters would be released. And he missed that deadline. People have a right to be dissapointed by that.

However, that doesn't give them a right to act like an asshole and they do need to keep in mind that this is a free service being provided (at some point).

Both "sides" are right, but you've all been assholes in expressing it.

Seems to me that there are too many who are quick to jump on the simpilist of questions, and apologize for what may turn out to be nothing. At this point in time, NONE of us know what has happened, AP, god forbid, may have had a heart attack, he may have taken a fall, he might be sick and unable to get to computer. Everyone just chill out, the complainers and the apologists till we actually know something.

We all appreciate the work involved, we all wamt the set released, we all are still waiting, we just need SOME info.

We have "all" been a-holes? Sounds a bit like the ol' pot and kettle argument here. Sheesh.

By the way, kudos to jackflash on the apology.

Hey, does anybody know if a set of 2007 rosters for OOTP is coming out? LOLOL

I agree with kagnew. You guys might want to take a deep breath and go read http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...d.php?t=143588 ,
which is regarding Marcus' health. Then come back here and read some of the
nonsense being posted. It's a game! I'm waiting for these as much as
anybody else......would I give it all, and everything else I have back, to
have my son, who was killed in a motorcycle accident in September, back????
Whatdo you all think?

Lets all keep things in perspective here, ok?

Hope you're ok AP and thank you for doing the rosters, whenever they
come out.

There is no need for a MLB license, in my opinion. OOTP, prior to 2006, always had a roster set released within 1 or 2 days of the game's release. But it would be interesting to see what the PA charges for something like that.
