Just found it interesting we yet to have a no hitter.

Maybe its the era but it seems to me that my guys are not developing at all in the minors. a couple of times I know I pull guys up early out of need for players on the active roster and they preaty much tanked. But I not had a single guy yet ( hitter wise ) thats improved in the minors enought to even consider calling up.

Totally agree with this. Players on the minors are not developing at all. In one season it seems they start to go down in star ratings already.

I agree. No development. Guys are ML ready or nothing.

I've had 2 guys develop somewhat. OF Billy Goodman & Cesar Geronimo. Neither reached their full potential (7 in contact), but when drafted both were 3's so they have improved a little (6 each now)

From the winter meetings in Havana.

With the apparent ascendence of young phenom Jack Clements, the Chicago Cubs dealt current starter Bruce Edwards and veteran relief pitcher Ken Forsch to the Boston Red Sox.

In return, the Red Sox will be sending SS Gene Robertson and backup catcher Mike Guerra to the Cubs.

It is believed the trade will help both team - as the Red Sox needed a higher-calibre catcher, and the Cubs were looking for an upgrade on infield defence. Robertson was stuck behind Bill Sweeney and prospect Red Rolfe in Boston - while Edwards was going to see significantly less playing time behind Clements. Forsch will likely continue to be used in a relief role with Boston, while Guerra will slide into the backup catcher spot with the Cubs, likely displacing Chad Krueter.

The 1910 Draft featured the deepest talent pool in BaTTY history, loaded with potential Hall-of-Famers, especially among hitters. The top pick, which belonged to the Cardinals, was used on left fielder Barry Bonds, a five-tool player whose talent could lead him to become one of the game's greatest players. Also in that category is second baseman Ross Barnes, who was tapped by the New York Giants with the second pick overall. The Giants' cross-town rival Highlanders picked third and selected the "other" great left-field talent in the draft in Harry Stovey. Larry Doby, like Bonds a five-tool super-prospect, was taken by the White Sox at #4. Doby can play several positions, and play all of them well, and while he isn't at the level of Bonds or Barnes offensively, is an extremely talented all-around player. Another all-around talent is center-fielder Eric Davis, selected with the fifth pick by Cincinnati. Davis is the speediest player in the draft - a tool that comes in handy on both offense and defense. SUPERBAS SUPER TO START SEASON

The Brooklyn Superbas are off to one of the best starts in BaTTY history, compiling an impressive 30-11 record thru April and May to lead the NL. Only a nearly-as-impressive 26-15 start for the Chicago Cubs (including a winning streak that currently has reached 11 games) and 25-16 start for the defending champion Pirates, has kept this from taking on the look of a rout. Brooklyn has been riding the strength of its pitching, allowing opponents just a paltry .213 average and 112 runs (both tops in BaTTY). Danny Jackson leads the way with a 6-2 record and 1.69 ERA.

BOSTON LOOKING FOR AN ENCORE

The Red Sox have started off hot as they seek to defend their 1909 AL Pennant, leading after the first month-and-a-half with a 26-15 record, good for a three-game cushion on the Washington Senators and Cleveland Indians. Dick Allen powers the Boston offense and is second in the league in batting (.376). The pitching has also impressed, holding opponents to a .234 average (best in the AL) and posting a 2.79 ERA (second in the AL), led by all-world pitcher Fred Heimach, who is improving upon his outstanding work in 1909, posting a 9-2, 1.31 mark thus far in 1910.
