Two days in a row now.
Two days that Sportscenter has not covered the Twins game. No highlights. No abbreviated box score. No mention, period. Nothing. WTF? I went to the contact link on their webpage and emailed them about it. You make a big deal about Toronto being only 6 out of the wild card...now Minnesota is 6 out and nothing? You air highlights from the Pittsburgh/Colorado game, but ignore the Twins? You can't find anything compelling in Rondell White's first HR or the play of the Morneau juggernaut? Even Punto deserves a mention - .471 BA and .706 SLG over the last 7. |

Darnit. Liriano was just a pitch away from a two hit shutout. Oh well, pitched a hell of a game against the other guy...who was he? Oh yeah, the guy some call the greatest young pitcher in the game...pfft.
Last I saw, Chicago was whooping on Detroit. |

And the Twins are now in 3rd in the Wildcard race!
9.5 behind Detroit, 6 behind Chicago... hopefully Radke can outpitch Jae Seo.

Radke pitched better, and Rondell White hits 3 XBH, 2 of which are HR! Welcome back, Rondell!

Twins win. Chicago loses.
It hurts me to still hear the newspaper and radio people say the Twins are unsure whether they are buying or selling. Hello!!! Have you seen this team since June? |

Agreed.
4 back in the Wild Card race. 7-1 since the break. I wonder if they'll get covered on Sportscenter now. They got 13 seconds at the end of the show this morning... |

And I think selling someone like Stewart or wouldn't hurt their playoff chances at all.

Stewart, since last year. Hunter, since last year. Ford, since he was worth something like two years ago. White, who seems to be coming around for once. And finally, as much as it absolutely PAINS me to say it, Radke. As my absolute favorite player right behind Kirby Puckett to ever wear a Twins uniform, I have liked watching him play. He plays hard and takes his bumps; but is still a consistent pitcher. The people that could be traded without hurting their playoff chances is Stewart, Ford and White. However, both Stewart and Ford are injured and Stewart is most likely out the rest of the season. Ford has sucked this year, so he wouldn't be worth much. White has just sucked all year and probably wouldn't get much for the Twins unless he comes around hitting up till the trade deadline. Problem is he is probably worth what he is making until the end of the year...then just letting him go. |

I definitely think we should get rid of Stewart, but no team is going to want him.

The Twins, according to Steve Phillips (yeah, great source, I know) are the sleeper possibility to land Soriano before the deadline. How f'ing sweet would that be if Pohlad opened up his pocketbook?!
