The betting window for the Individual tournament is closed. I'll start the Individual tournaments shortly.

Rosters on page one have been updated after the team playoffs.

Season 3: ROY Candidates - Silver Conference

Candidate #1:

Lightweight - Julio Cesar Chavez (Oakland Assassins)
Season 3 Record: 15-5-0 (10) *1DQ*

Julio Cesar Chavez was drafted as the #8 pick by the Brazilian Barbarians and then traded on draft-day to the Oakland Assassins. He is the first of two ROY Candidates representing the Assassins. Only 3 bouts into his rookie season, Chavez lost a LW Title bout - but he did manage to take the champ the 15-round distance in a losing effort. With the title having changed hands, he wants another shot at the crown in the EOY Tournament.

Julio Cesar Chavez heads into the LW EOY Tournament as the #10 Seed.

SEASON 3 HIGHLIGHTS:
  • 0-1-0 (0) in Title Bouts
  • Scored 39 Points (2nd Highest on Oakland Assassins, 11.04% of Team Total)
  • 3rd Highest LW Points Total in Silver Conference
  • Opponents Average Rating: 6.25
  • Notable Wins: W-TKO9 Billy Petrolle (rated 9), W-TKO3 Howard Davis Jr (rated 8), W-TKO12 Jesse James Leija (rated 8)
  • Draws: NONE
  • Losses: L-U15 CH-Carlos Ortiz (rated 11), L-KO8 Alexis Arguello (rated 10), L-U12 Rocky Kansas (rated 7), L-S12 Paddy DeMarco (rated 6), L-DQ8 Jimmy Britt (rated 3)

I think you messed up JCC's weightclass, he's a LW not a LHW.

Candidate #2:

Featherweight - Kevin Kelley (Punching Bags)
Season 3 Record: 15-4-1 (5) *1DQ*

Kevin Kelley is one of the founding members of the expansion Punching Bags. He is the only member of either 2 Silver Conference expansion teams to officially be listed as a ROY Candidate. Kevin started his rookie campaign with an impressive 11-1-1 (5) record but struggled to a 4-3-0 (0) record to finish the season.

Kevin Kelley heads into the FW EOY Tournament as the #15 Seed.

Season 3: ROY Candidates - Silver Conference

Candidate #3:

Featherweight - Kid Chocolate (IceTeaBoxing)
Season 3 Record: 15-3-2 (6)

Kid Chocolate was drafted as the #14 pick in the 1st Round by IceTeaBoxing. He proved once again that IceTea has a great eye for talent and has added to the depth of the 3-time Silver Conference regular season champs. He did not have a chance to fight for the FW Title during the regular season, but heads confidently into very deep FW EOY Tournament.

Kid Chocolate heads into the FW EOY Tournament as the #7 Seed.

SEASON 3 HIGHLIGHTS:
  • Scored 38 Points (4th Highest on IceTeaBoxing, 7.72% of Team Total)
  • 4th Highest FW Points Total in Silver Conference
  • Opponents Average Rating: 6.20

  • Losses: L-U12 Kevin Kelley (rated 9), L-U12 Benny Bass (rated 9), L-TKO12 Sugar Ramos (rated 9)

Season 3: ROY Candidates - Silver Conference

Candidate #4:

Middleweight - Carlos Monzon (Oakland Assassins)
Season 3 Record: 16-4-0 (11)

High Expectations follow Carlos Monzon wherever he goes. As the overall #1 pick in the Season 3 Draft, he was expected to make an immediate impact on not just the Oakland Assassins, but also change the landscape of the Middleweight Division. With such a deep pool of talented Middleweight fighters, Carlos aquitted himself well. Although the Assassins still struggled overall this season, Carlos Monzon is a keeper for many seasons to come. A Title Shot may be in his immediate future as he competes in the MW EOY Tournament.

Carlos Monzon heads into the MW EOY Tournament as the #7 Seed.

SEASON 3 HIGHLIGHTS:
  • Scored 43 Points (Highest on Oakland Assassins, 12.18% of Team Total)
  • 3rd Highest MW Points Total in Gold Conference
  • Opponents Average Rating: 6.45
  • Notable Wins: W-U12 Ken Overlin (rated 10), W-KO11 John Mugabi (rated 9), W-TKO7 Carmen Basilio (rated 9), W-U12 Tiger Flowers (rated 9), W-KO11 Carl "Bobo" Olson (rated 8), W-U12 Irish Jack Burke (rated 8)
  • Draws: NONE
  • Losses: L-U12 Tony Zale (rated 11), L-KO8 Jermain Taylor (rated 10), L-TKO11 Al Hostak (rated 8), L-TKO12 Walter Cartier (rated 5)

The MVP & ROY Candidates have been posted.

Feel free to "write-in" vote for anyone you feel was left off the ballot.

I'll probably post the Comeback Fighter Candidates tomorrow.

End of Season 4 Draft Pool Additions

I'm currently working up some numbers for the end of Season 4 draft pool.
I need 9 volunteers who would be willing to select fighters to be added to the season 4 draft pool.

I'll take the first 9 volunteers that post here. Anybody adding fighters to the draft pool will be by one weight class only. When you volunteer, please specify the weight class that you would like to select the fighters that will be added in. The 9th spot is for wildcard fighters that will be added (selected from the wildcard random chart) to the draft pool.

Once you have volunteered and I have the numbers ready, I'll send you a PM letting you know how many fighters in the weight class you can select to add along with the rating limits.

*note: Only one volunteer per weight class.

Volunteer List:

Results for the first round of the Lt. Heavyweight, Middleweight & Welterweight Tournaments have been posted with bout logs in the Indv Tournament thread.

When I was making my sheets for the Individual Tournaments, I noticed that our current LW Champion did not qualify for the tourney. Billy Schwer, the current LW champ, won it during the team playoffs. Without any thought, I scratched Claude Noel who was seeded #1 and champ at the time the brackets were made and replaced him with Schwer who is now champ.

Romultiltus sent me a PM and now I'm second guessing my decision on the replacement. You guys read it and let me know how you want to handle this situation.

Here is the PM he sent.

Since Claude Noel lost the title to Mando Ramos, who in turn lost the title to Billy Schwer - we now have a situation that has not occured yet in UTBA.

Billy Schwer did not qualify for the EOY Tournament and therefore will not put his title on the line until Season 4.

As for Claude Noel, since he was LW Champion at the end of the regular season, he is awarded the #1 seed in the EOY Tournament. Unfortunately, he has no title to defend and probably doesn't belong there in the first place, based on his record. If he did, it would definitely be as one of the lower seeds.

I don't think that the system should be changed because it works fine, and I kind of like this little "Loophole" which will add some juice to the UTBA.

Your thoughts?
I kinda like this loophole thing.

Season 3: Comeback Fighter - Gold Conference

Candidate #1:

Middleweight - Jock McAvoy (Tile Hill Top Team)

Jock McAvoy followed up a disappointing Season 2 with a much improved and successful Season 3 for the Tile Hill Top Team. Overall he ended up +11 in Points Scored compared to last season. Jock was unsuccessful in his one shot at the MW crown.

Jock McAvoy heads into the MW EOY Tournament as the #14 Seed.

Season 2:
  • Record: 7-11-2 (6) [Tile Hill Top Team]
  • 22 Points Scored
  • 0-2-0 (0) in Title Bouts
  • Opponents Average Rating: 6.75
Season 3:

  • 33 Points Scored (6th Highest on Tile Hill Top Team)
  • 5th Highest MW Points Total in Gold Conference
  • 0-1-0 (0) in Title Bouts
  • Key Bouts: W-KO3 Randy Turpin (rated 9), W-KO11 Bennie Briscoe (rated 9), W-S12 Gomeo Brennan (rated 9)

Season 3: Comeback Fighter - Gold Conference

Candidate #2:

Featherweight - Torpedo Billy Murphy (Bonner Springs Bald Beavers)

Torpedo Billy Murphy is a 'feel good' story for the Gold Conference. As a member of the dominant Bonner Springs Bald Beavers, he followed up a horrible rookie season w/ a winning record as a sophmore. As a 4-rated fighter, his +12 Points Scored improvement during the regular season prove that you don't have to be a superstar to have a bit of success in the UTBA. Simiar to last season, Torpedo Billy was given 1 shot at the FW Title and was defeated by a superior opponent.

Unfortunately, Torpedo Billy Murphy did not qualify for FW EOY Tournament

Season 2:
  • Record: 6-14-0 (3) [Bonner Springs Bald Beavers]
  • 15 Points Scored
  • 0-1-0 (0) in Title Bouts
  • Opponents Average Rating: 6.45
Season 3:
  • Record: 9-8-3 (6) [Bonner Springs Bald Beavers]
  • 27 Points Scored
  • 0-1-0 (0) in Title Bouts
  • Opponents Average Rating: 6.15
  • Key Bouts: W-TKO7 Danny Lopez (rated 9), W-TKO5 Juan Manuel Marquez (rated 9), D-12 Battling Battalino (rated 9), D-12 Johnny Famechon (rated 8)
