Whenever you get the chance, Kevin, would you create a secondary logo for the Ozarka Naturals, but use the letter O instead of the round light blue oval image.

No rush on this set for the Mahaska Haymakers.
MAHASKA HAYMAKERS Team Owner: Farmers Co-op of Mahaska GM and Manager: Pip Cordice Mahaska, a township of 67,000 nestled on the banks of the White River in the west central plains of Tycobbia, is part of the nation’s breadbasket and heartland with vast fields of wheat, corn, oats and other grains. Grain elevators, storage silos and processing plants are its main industry, along with cereal factories and beef, chicken and pork meat processing plants. The Mahaska townspeople have a strong work ethic and live a nice middle-class existence. Church and family are of prime importance in their lives. Shady streets and quiet subdivisions best describe life in Mahaska. Mahaska was settled in the 1850s by immigrants from Iowa in the United States. They were hearty farm people well-versed in all aspects of agriculture. The transplanted Iowans named their town after the Iowa county where most of them lived. Mahaska was named after a famous Iowa Indian chief. Around 1900 the town got an influx of emigres from the Ukraine, who fit in real well with their expert knowledge of growing wheat and grains. The Ukraine is the breadbasket of Russia. The new additions to Mahaska quickly were assimilated into the town culture and even eventually picked up the game of baseball, which was rapidly becoming the National Pastime in Tycobbia. Mahaska is also home of the Haymakers baseball team who play at Heartland Stadium, where the best barbecue in Tycobbia is served along with delicious, melt-in-your-mouth hamburgers. Traditional ballpark food and soft drinks are available in abundance, too. Musical entertainment during games is provided by the Mahaska Sym-Phony, a group of musically-inclined fans. They entertain during games and highstep around the field in celebration after every Haymaker victory -- and yes, it's the only symphony in Mahaska. The team is now owned by the Farmers Co-Op of Mahaska; no high-powered corporation or millionaire runs it. Mahaska was originally started by Rickey Branch, one of the most knowledgeable baseball administrators in Tycobbia and the sole owner of the team. He was also one of the league founders. His son, Rick Branch, Junior, inherited the team and also was a fine baseball man in his own right. Rusty Tanussa was a journeyman outfielder in the company leagues, but was a top-notch and very successful industrial league manager. He skippered the Haymakers in the first 25 years of the IPA. Rip Cordice is the current GM and manager. He had a modest career in Mahaska, pitching for 15 seasons with a 193-186 mark and a 3.71 ERA. The Haymakers have only made 5 postseason appearances in the IPA playoffs and have never won a Pro Cup. The best Mahaska ever did to reach the Pro Cup Finals in 2026, but they were swept by Valmara in 4 games. Cordice took them to the playoffs in 2076, but they were eliminated in the first round. The Branch Family decided to donate the Mahaska Haymakers to the Farmers Co-Op of Mahaska in 2060. They did in thanks for the great support the farm community gave them over the years. Glad you all like them. I worked on finding the font for awhile. Had another one there for the longest time and it just wasn't quite right. This one works. Right now I'm sending two, one very classic and one that's a bit more experimental. Those can be tough since you don't quite know how they will work in the game. In case you didn't catch it, the tridents are traditional Ukrainian symbols.

Slight adjustment to make the baseball stand out a bit from the wheat.

Don't know if if you know it or not, but I was a Russian Language Specialist in the US Air Force, back in the last 50s and early 60s. Bolshoe spacibo... (pronounced "Bal-SHOY-yeh spa-SEE-buh"... that's Russian for "thank you very much". |

What is the font for Mahaska?
I may try to rework the jerseys and caps with the new font. They would look good... the font has a little bit of a Cyrillic feel to them... a touch of the Ukraine. Can you post the little farmer?... the little hayseed guy... might use him on the jersey sleeve. Last edited by Eugene Church; 05-12-2023 at 02:41 PM. |

Mahaska screenshots.
I'm gonna have to add some lighter background to get the secondary logos to show up at the 50 x 50 pixel size. The second primary logo is a work of art with the wheat and tridents. Last edited by Eugene Church; 05-12-2023 at 03:09 PM. |

They show up better at 50 pixels with a white background and a large yellow border.

The font is Roadstore. I can remake the little guy, but once you gave the OK on everything I deleted it. I save the final copies but the Illustrator files are a bit too much to save all of them. I'm heading out but I'll remake him for you tomorrow. Its easy, just takes a minute.

Have a great weekend, HK!
Thanks for all you have done for EC and other threads you had contributed... It was fascinating and added into my logo database for future associations...
