I see the picture they used for Charlie Buelow (the secondary one on bRef) and I adjusted that one after colorizing it to narrow the face as the other bRef picture shows the face to be not nearly as wide. The heaviness of the original facegen was a trick of the first picture's angle imo. Anyway, I tweaked the given file vs. redoing it... I'm tempted to apply a texture pack - it would make him look young but a touch more generic... then I remember he only got 8 hits for the Giants and this will probably do
3 am here, will do more tomorrow...

If you used a different picture of Yanus, does that make him two-faced? (Roman mythology joke.)
A September call-up for the Expos' likely World Series opponent (the Yankees only need to go 12-9 to break the Indians' 111-win record) is Garry Smith, who tore it up at AAA Tampa in 1978 (.926 OPS), but couldn't get a ticket to the Bronx. He then flopped repeatedly after the team switched their affiliate to Columbus in 1979. Perhaps as a Jacksonville native, he missed the Sunshine State? |

So the Yanks signed every free agent in your sim... and they'll still give a looksee to Garry Smith in September? I applaud the open-mindedness of the Empire [cue the Imperial March theme]

Well, Garry's been up all September, and it's the 19th and he hasn't made it into a game as yet. So I can't give him much credit for the Yanks going 102-45. it's true. I think he just spends the pregame shagging flies and playing catch with Ted Wilborn, who only pinch-runs.
Actually, the Bombers are bit thin in the OF; they signed Yount and Simmons and JR Richard and Phil Niekro and Gaylord and John Denny and Lynn McGlothlen and Gary Lavelle, but Winfield decided the Dodgers made more sense and they cut ties to Murcer and Piniella, so it's not exactly Murderers Row out there. They had to trade Gaylord to KC for Hal McRae to get reinforcements. How are you at photo hunting? I'd like FaceGen for Vernon Benson ( benson002ver ), who IRL put in a workmanlike 1.5 seasons at AAA Syracuse in 1979-1980 before hanging it up at age 30…but in the game he's grabbed the slot left open by Stieb (out all year with a torn UCL, rotten luck) and is the Jays' ace, leading in wins and ERA and only 7 K's behind Clancy. Problem is, I can't find a pic of him. All I find is 1960s coach VERN Benson (his dad? Dunno), best known from being called out as "Radar" by the Cleveland players in Ball Four because, Bouton claims, the Tribesmen thought he was a spy for management and would listen in on conversations. Him, I've found. Young (well, he's 31…but he's a lefty and Toronto needs arms) Vernon, not so much. Sigh. |

So, let's talk about Frank Dupee... 1 game, 3 earned in zero innings for the dreaded infinite ERA. He imports as a CF despite only having that one game of pitching for MLB experience... but then if I were the AI, I too might go to extreme measures to keep him off the mound...
The facegen in the game had to go. I used the one picture I found of him on-line to create a new one and then overlaid a texture pack. I think this is better than trying to colorize what was there... |

At least that's what he imports in as on bRef. All the minor league stats align with the one you are seeking but the birthday doesn't match his (or the elder or other Vern). That's prob a database tweak for Lukas to look at. If you are satisfied he's your man, can you post in that database thread to check the birthday for that minor league ID. So here's Randy/Vern on the my Toronto Touch 'em Alls...
