#19 - Joey Votto

Got a chance to meet his mother, Wendy, when she approached me before a game in Toronto back in June 2009, while I was wearing my Joey Votto jersey. She told me that she always gets a kick out of seeing her name on the back of a jersey.

When you look at the picture on the left you'll understand that I can't take another player as Robin Yount is my all-time favorite player.

I went on my honeymoon to the US in May 1993.
Three weeks before we left Germany I heard that Yount had arthroscopic knee surgery, almost eliminating the chance that I could watch him live during our short visit to Milwaukee.
Miraculously he was in the line-up when I was at County Stadium on May 16, 1993 ... and to top it, he drove in the game's first run in a 5:3-win over Cleveland.

Milwaukee's very own, #19 Robin Yount

Jim Clancy

Number 2 starter in the Jays rotation while he was here to Dave Stieb, but a very competent pitcher in his own right.

Okay, for those of you who are scoring along with me ...
we "per-orderers" now are only two weeks away

Time to remember the times when players used to play for one team,
to remember what was the most exciting period of Brewers baseball so far

Aaron Boone - #17

Although I respected Joe Girardi immensely, I like what Aaron Boone brings to the table. It's an exciting time to be a Yankees fan.

2 recent Dodgers that I wish were still part of the team:

Brandon Morrow - an absolute stud for us last year all the way through the post season

AJ Ellis - A true clubhouse guy and local favorite. Could work a count like nobody's business and handled the pitching staff like a boss.

It makes no sense. For now, you'll have to be satisfied with the Hall of Merit, and the Hall of Stats. Dave Stieb is also in both, but sadly 176 Wins says he will never make it to Cooperstown. Kill. The. Win.

EDIT: Hernandez was a first ballot Hall of Merit player...So...There's that.
