Hopefully he can be the Stephen Drew from a couple years ago. -Well, at least for the next 2 1/2 months.

Wow, apparently Jemile Weeks has been sent down to AAA to make room for Drew. He's having a bad year but I definitely didn't expect to see him demoted.

Also Norberto to the DL and Seth Smith activated from the DL.

What what what!? No, I didn't expect that either. I guess its only for a week or so. He'll be back sept 1st.

Colon = PEDs. Bai...

Bartolo Colon Fails MLB Drug Test: MLB Rumors - MLBTradeRumors.com

As for how this affects us, well I'm just glad this was a SP and not a position player. We have so much pitching depth that it might not make a huge difference. Colon was one of the most reliable and consistent starters though.

What's up with them sending Weeks down? I know it's been a rough season, but he seemed to be doing better as of late. He was a great pickup for me last year in our league, now I wonder if it's worth keeping him. Is it even possible for a Weeks or an Upton to have 2 good seasons in a row?

He would be one of the last people I would assume to be using. Unless he's been getting his testosterone from overly medicated pork.

In mid july, Weeks was hitting .225. At the time of his demotion (Aug 20), he was hitting .220. He's had a couple of good games, but a lot of Oh-fers.

I doubt he's be of much fantasy use this season, but you never know. Maybe the week or two in AAA will kick start him when he gets called up next month.

AL only league. Do you think it would be worth holding on to him, or do you think last year was a fluke? It's a keeper league and we keep our entire rosters.

I think it'd be worth keeping him, but I'm an A's optimist. If he can just re-learn how to slap the ball on the ground and use his speed instead of swinging for the fences, you'll see #s more like last year's.

Randy Wolf just became available and he's BFFs with Kottaras. You could get the complete set!

That would be cool for George, but we have six capable starters even without Colon, so probably not.

He certainly has the talent and I'm sure he'll have every opportunity next year. It's not like we have a lot of big bats in the minors or money to spend on FAs. I *hope* he'll be better, but I really can't know.

I would tentatively hold onto him, unless you could only hold onto a small number of players. Err, and you have someone else that's better.

Sorry, I forgot to warn you!

Magically, the A's have committed four errors so far this game but only allowed one run. Nice to see good Tommy Milone back.

RHP Bartolo Colon of Oakland Athletics suspended 50 games for violating MLB's drug policy - ESPN

Not what we needed at this stage of the season.

I am just thankful that Anderson came back when he did. Hopefully we don't miss a beat but Bartolo was very reliable.
