Game Strategy
Pinch Hitter depth chart o based on game situations o vs. L, vs. R Moves must be based on depth chart o OOTP should check depth chart before taking a player out. If there is no one left in the depth chart at a position, the current player can’t be taken out (with injuries being the obvious exception) Separate Steals into Steal Second, Steal Third and Steal Home o IRL aggression is different based on game situations. For instance, if a man is on first with no out, it’s alright to try to steal second. But, the rule has always been, not to be the first out at third base. So, even the best base stealers rarely attempt. Add pitch around, intentional walks, and favor L/R split to individual game strategies for pitchers o IRL your better pitchers (aces, closers) don’t pitch around players as much as the other pitchers on the staff o You can have a lefty or righty specialist that you would want a high favor L/R split, but your best pitchers don’t get pulled because of this. For pitchers - a do not replace until tired or lost lead option o Pre-Tony LaRussa, teams would bring in their “bullpen ace” in the 7th or 8th and finish the game. Currently, I can add the role of middle reliever to my top reliever, but OOTP treats him like a regular MR, sometimes he’ll only face one batter. I want to be able to pitch him two or three innings, if necessary For batters – a do not take out in double switch option For batters – a do not take out for pinch runner option |

Amateur League System
high school leagues feed to college leagues to mimic recruiting college pick in reverse order – best teams pick first o best teams possibly based on prestige (records for last five/ten years?) o only pick enough to fill out roster no draft for high school leagues players just created to fill roster high school players should be created with same birth place as the team’s city |

Players
Allow team GMs to edit nicknames and be able to export o This is for online leagues so the commish doesn’t have to do it. Personality predicts whether player starts a brawl or gets kicked out for arguing call Have potential to improve fielding |

News
News Item - Mock Draft based on team strengths and OSA rookie rankings News Item - Preseason Prediction based on team strengths News Item - Playoff Matchup News Item – Top Prospect Debuts o When a top five (or ten) batter or pitcher debuts on the major league level, there should be a note in the league news. News Item – Tweak trade rumors o Stop giving us news about 39 year-old, one-star players who are unhappy about playing time. To make news, the player should be, at least, a three-star player. o A good trade rumor story could involve players that are possible free agents. If they haven’t signed a contract extension, with 90 days of the trade deadline. The stories could start appearing. o Also, note when three-star player (or better) is placed on the trade block in-game. News Items – News “leaked” from the locker room o Instead of always getting email saying that a player is unhappy with his role (or that he wants a contract extension) it is leaked to the media. Again, this would 3-star players and above. And I would tie it to the player’s loyalty rating. The higher his loyalty rating, the less likely that he would want to leak his displeasure to the media. |

History
All Star Game history o At very least, which league won each season. On the teams’ history page for individual seasons, note the manager and coaching staff o Currently, there is no easy way find out who the manager, coaches were for a given team. Player firsts noted in history o First game with summary o For batter - First hit o For batter - First home run o For pitcher - First win o For pitcher - First save |

Stats
Track how many times a team’s offense is shutout. Track success rates for steals of second base, third base and home separately. Track players’ Career All Star Game Stats on their history page. o As a compromise, just put the player’s performance in the player history section. For instance, “6-20-2050 - Was selected to the 2050 the MoneyBall Union All-Star Game. Went 5-5 with 3 2B, 1 HR, 3 RBI and 2 R.” |

Awards
Allow us to set the criteria (create a formula based on stats and ratings) to determine All-Stars and Award Winners. o For an online league, picking manually is a pain. You don’t get everyone to vote. There’s always one or two who forget they had to vote. There’s always one or two that vote that don’t take it seriously or as seriously as some others want it done. And, if you take it seriously, it is a pain to have to go thru all the players to find the most worthy. Then, someone always complains about the pick not making any sense. And no one wants to take the time to vote for defensive awards. And the AI picks for the defensive awards are atrocious. o If not adding this feature, at least, add range and arm ratings (catching ability and arm) into OOTP’s formula. Players with average and below average range and arms would not be considered for these awards IRL. (EXCEPTION – arms wouldn’t necessarily be considered for LF, 1B) Add an end of the year All-League Team award. o Picked the same way you’d pick the all-star team only the amount of players is different, RH SP, LH SP, RH RP, LH LP, C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, LF, CF, RF o Second team optional? |

Other
Team Ring of Honor – manual induction o For online leagues, allow the GM to make these selections and export No repeat numbers, at least for forty man roster When looking at box score, ability to click on a half inning to go to the game log for that half inning |

Winter/Fall Leagues
allow GMs to move players to these teams and automatically moved back after season players don’t treat this as a demotion; they still have the option to refuse o the player’s decision based on his loyalty, work ethic and age. |

The ability to choose pitches
When playing a game I would love to be able to choose which pitches my pitcher throws.

Boring 'Simulating...' screen
Please, please, PLEASE change the Simulating screen from a useless, worthless, unhelpful, boring pretend psuedo-newspaper (standings, headlines, league leaders) to something more in line with what might interest what we are pretending to be - general managers of a baseball team.
It can't be that much more difficult or time consuming to show a daily update of a team's batter and pitcher stats, than it is to calculate and display the update of league leaders and standings. The headlines are very difficult to read and of little interest anyway. Surely, someone else is bugged by this? |

I like seeing the league leaders, but it wouldn't be too much to add on some basic team stats. Even just a list of my hot or cold players and their stats from the last few games from my team, so I can see who's slumping at a glance while simming. Heck, even just throw on my most recent boxscore in the corner and I'll be happy.
