Might be a perception thing based on, as you say, the 'right' people getting picked off. Since it's the non-runners getting nailed over and over, it feels higher than it should.

I tried the "Realistic Modern Day" setting and it completely decimated the position players in my league. I had to un-retire several players just to fill my 40-man roster. Strangely, not many pitchers in my league suffered injuries, but an unusually large percentage of position players got hurt. This seems wonky as I would suspect it would be the other way around. Pitchers tend to get injured more frequently than fielders.

My wife is pissed at you Markus!!!
I downloaded yesterday and haven't slept yet! I love it! Well worth the wait.
This is my third OOTP (8,9,X) and they just keep getting better. I play on a Mac and have not noticed any big issues. The only problem I have encountered has been the ballparks. I am unable to mod the BParks. I noticed on Padre's Fan's site that there's an issue with this. Not a big deal though. New skin is very pleasing and the rating bars are an improvement also. Now if it could just come with a "keep the wife from divorcing me" mod it would be perfect! ![]() Jj |

Just got done playing my first game and won 3-2 as the Angels skipper in a play-by-play mode game. It felt good, like real baseball with nothing really funky happening. Pretty intense game with a combined 30+ men left on base. My catcher Napoli got beaned and ended up out for 5 weeks with a finger injury.
The only issue was during the 9th inning. I was winning 3-2 and had 2 outs against Oakland with nobody on base. Then Garciaparra hits a double but no pinch runner came in to replace him. Garcia's speed and baserunning ratings are 7/7. Meanwhile, Rajai Davis was on the bench with ratings of 19/17. I intentionally walked Holliday then all of a sudden Davis appeared on 2nd during Cust's play result. He should've been immediately put on base, not sure why the AI waited. Unless it's because the switch is not announced until the next play starts and the IW nullified it. However, when a relief pitcher is put in the game they show up on screen right away. That's my only beef and a minor one so it's all good. Last edited by Trooper; 06-05-2009 at 05:23 AM. |

Trooper, I think that's a bug. The PR entrance is reported a batter late. I've already created a bug report.

I'll work on it later. Maybe I need to increase my resolution from 1024x768 up. |

My Expos lead 2-1 in the bottom of the ninth at SF. Rollie Fingers on the mound (historical draft league). Joe Morgan gets a hit and immediately steals second.
An intentional walk and an infield single later and it's bases loaded, nobody out. I bring the infield in and cross my fingers. OOTP9 would often not throw home in this situation on a ground ball despite my obvious strategy move to set up a force play. Will OOTPX get it right? Here's a shot on the ground toward second ... Crosby picks it up and throws home ... Out! They just nip the runner at the plate ... Bench throws it up the line ... Out at first! Double play! Another intentional walk and a strikeout later, and the Expos win, 2-1. Great job OOTP! Great job Markus! Thanks for sweating the details ...
