it could be because they are looking to push up his start and have him start in place of Kennedy next time.

Pettitte threw too well and so did Joba. Also, Girardi stated that the team comes first, so he put Mariano out to end the losing streak and keep the win alive. Joba threw another 28 "pitches" in the bullpen to try to give him his "stretch work". From what I understand, they believe he'll be ready for 70 pitches his next time out. I am not sure if that's enough to start him in place of Kennedy though. I guess we'll see. With the off day tonight, it'll be another 5 days before they need a 5th starter anyway.

![]() ![]() ![]() I orginally wanted him to be Mo's replacement as closer, but now that this decision has been made, I'm fine with it. Let's go! But if anybody thinks that F********h is going to ever be a good set-up man, you have another think coming. He did all right this season when Chamberlain was in that role and the pressure was off F********h, but now that he's being pulled back into it, well, I see him reverting to his former bad form. Two weeks ago, his ERA was 2.84. Now, it's up to 4.44. He does not have the head nor the heart for the job, IMO. thom, am I "on" base with this one, do you think?

I'm taking notes here. Ohlendorf. F********h. Hawkins. So far, we agree on one only. Not to rub it in, but I'm coming back here to review the first two, some day.

1-2-3 9th... A little impressed? You don't get much more pressure then being on the road, tied in the bottom of the 9th!

Is it a requirement to be fat to be closer of the Twins?

No thank yous from the Yankees for us getting you off the bottom of the table? If we'd kept our normal away form at Camden Yards you'd still be bottom of the East

LOL!
I didn't mean the same day! But, for this one day, I was happy to be wrong about those two. Hey, nobody, not even you thom, roots harder for the Yankees than me. I just tend to be more pessimistic than you and like so many other Yankee fans I'm starting to become a bit impatient.
