This is true and they offer around £3 million I'd snatch their hand off, Murphy is a good solid workhorse and Reid would be a good squad addition.

When it comes to "conflict", Maccabi Haifa are child's play compared to Heysel.

You'd know more about that than I, but it did spell death for Liverpool as a European power.

Edit: I'm sure their supporters would trade the good name for the dominance of old, in a heartbeat.

Ken Bates whines about Chelsea stealing his youth players

The same Ken Bates who made the stunningly callous remarks post 9/11

Yup it did start the end for them, just and nothing against Liverpool fans seeing most my cousins support them and most my friends do, but even after Heysel and Hillsborough there supporters are still looked on in a good light by the majority of people.

Ken Bates is scum of the earth, hated in Wigan for being one of the people that nearly had them out of business. Owned them years ago and ran the club into the ground sold all their best players then ran away with the money and leaving the club close to going out of business.

Best thing I can say about him is he's old so we wont have to put up with him for that much longer

Bates is in it for the money, goes round buying clubs who are in debt and such and who he can buy for next to nothing gets a manager in who works miracles on a shoestring budget then sell's the club, with Wigan he couldn't do that so strangely players were sold just before he sold the club yet had massive debts when he left.

Leeds are a massive club in England but unless they have a rich chairman can't really support massive transfers and wages as I don't see them being anything but average supported outside England, EPL is probably seperated into.

The Rich aka Chelsea, Wigan who without their rich Chairmen don't have the fan base to support the money they spend.

The Large Fanbase, Man Utd, Liverpool who have the world fanbase to sustain high transfers and wages even if they don't have a rich chairman.

Home Support, Newcastle Utd, Man City who have a good home following to sustain them at a UEFA cup pace but not much else.

The Hangers on, Blackburn Rovers, Bolton Wanderers who have good support when their winning and good management to maybe surprise and get a UEFA spot now and again.

The Yo Yo's, Watford and a prime example West Brom who have their 5 minutes of fame then back to the Championship then 5 minutes of fame and so on.

Some teams move around like Blackburn were once in the Rich bracket but when Jack Walker died that moved them to the Hangers On, If and when Whelan dies Wigan will probably move to the Hangers On or Yo Yo division unless one of his relatives takes over or by then Wigan are a good investment for a rich owner.

Jewell's doing the same as he did last year selling players and buying in players, last season we had about 5-6 players in the first team playing for the first time for the Latics and he's done the same this season.

He's upgrading every season not massive upgrades but upgrading, players like Heskey imo better than Roberts, Landzaat better than Bullard, Valencia better than Teale although Teale is still at the club, Boyce to maybe replace Chimbonda and Hall better than Henchoz.

Team for this season should be something like.

GK Kirkland (new)
LB Baines
CB De Zeeuw
CB Hall (new)
RB Boyce (new)
LM McCulloch
CM Scharmer
CM Landzaat (new)
RM Valencia (new)
ST Camara
ST Heskey (new)

Way better team imo than last year and I bet the bottom line is he's hardly spent a penny because he sold Roberts and Bullard for £6 million which pretty much covers what he paid for Heskey and Hall, Valencia and Kirkland are on year long loans and he got £1.5 million for Francis which is only a million short of what he payed for Landzaat.

I know I'm a bit biased but I see Jewell becoming one of the great managers if he keep's on like he is doing, great spotter of talent and as good a man manager as anybody as he's got more out of Bullard, Roberts and Chimbonda than anybody before and probably anybody in the future.

If my Spanish is still okay, it basically says that the two clubs, Manchester United and Real Madrid, have reached an agreement with regards a transfer fee, and that van Nistelrooy has signed a contract with the club for the next three seasons.
He will have to pass a medical on Friday morning, before being paraded at the Santiago Bernabéu at 7 p.m. (CET) tomorrow evening.

Im very happy he didnt wind up at Bayern Munich

Bobby Robson has been admitted to hospital, one of the greatest and most underated managers imo there's been. Took England to 2 World Cups which in 1986 they were knocked out against Argentina in the quarters who went on to win it, then in 1990 got knocked out against Germany in the semi final who went on to win it.

Won the FA Cup and UEFA Cup with Ipswich who were mostly stocked with players from the youth team, a stat that stands out in his 13 years at Ipswich is that he only bought 14 players which shows the great youth acadamy that he built up.

Went on to coach at PSV winning 2 Dutch titles, he then moved onto Sporting Lisbon were he was sacked despite them being top of the table. Porto then snapped him up and they went on to beat Sporting in the Portugese Cup and won 2 titles, he then went onto Barcelona were he won a Copa del Rey, Spanish Super Cup and a European Cup Winners Cup.

Burnley fans should go celebrate tonight as their team stands at the top of the Championship League table due to the fact they have the alphabetical advantage over Luton and West Brom

the MLS All-Stars just beat Chelsea 1-0 in an exhibition...even if its the preseason, that still shouldn't happen.

Obviously this doesn't mean the MLS is better than possibly any league above nationwide...but this does help the league.
