East coast gladiators

The Philadelphia Inquirer: Boxing News
Barry McGuigan Voted Gladiators Team Captain
The team formerly known as "Stockholms Finest", but now under new management and called "East Coast Gladiators", hopes to continue with it's previously established winning ways. New team owner/manager "Crimson" had this to say about the teams upcoming season:

"Our Team Captain, as voted upon by all the fighters on the team was 'The Clones Cycone' Barry McGuigan. We've inherited a winning team and hopefully our off season moves were an improvment and are not going to send us in the other direction. With the reigning league Champion "Bonner Springs Bald Beavers" in our division along with the on the rise hard charging "Boxing Kangeroos" and "Coventry Hitmen" we cannot afford to take a backward step."

"Losing Andreas Kotelnik, Denis Boytsov, Tom Thomas, and Ever Beleno was a tough decision. However, we are optimistic that Tracy Spann, Kim, and Cesar Brion will help us get some more wins."

When asked about Phil Kating, who he'd failed to mention, Crimson responded with, "I know Kating. He was a pure cap move. He's 0-20 or something. I told him to just try and go the distance every fight and prevent the other team from getting KO points, but I doubt he'll do that. Kating wants to win bad, same as a World Champion. Anytime he doesn't get stopped though were looking at it as win. He may not win any, but the Blue Horizon fans will enjoy his effort. Kating has plenty of heart and desire."

"Hopefully we'll provide the boxing knowlegable, and appreciative of a good fight, Philly fans something to cheer about at the Blue Horizon. They know boxing as well or better than any fight venue fans in the world. I really can't think of anywhere that I'd rather watch a fight than the Blue Horizon. It is going to rock when Barry McGuigan steps through those ropes!"

I had intended to stay put with most of my roster at pre or prime, however, missing the draft made sure that I was keeping the same roster. This will be the last season before I tear my roster down and start over(havent won anything to call it RE-building LOL)from scratch. I need much better production from Klitschko(dont like the Klitschkos in real life but hope he can win a few matches this season)and Shavers to have a hope of breaking even. I am realistic enough to realise that contending is probably out of reach but I keep hoping. I still think, with my teams experience, that I should at least break .500 but ya never know. Anyway, good luck to everyone and thanks to those who sent kind words after the recent loss of one of my favorite uncles. Peace fellas.

Well, with 2 rookies replacing the 2 underperforming rookies from last year, and only 3 fighters still at pre-prime, I hope that the team will improve from last year's finish.

I initially wanted to cut both my HW but decided to stick with them (atleast for the meantime). Mercer has largely been a disappointment the past 2 seasons, and Morrison didn't really do much in season 2, but I feel having 2 prime fighters rather than some untested rookies from the free agent pool will be a lot better. Hopefully this decision doesn't come back to haunt me later.

The new season kicked off with a bang. 2 blowouts right at the start lol... hopefully my team don't suffer the same fate....

Philly fans know that "Vanuatu" is an island in the South Pacific, east of Australia.

I think your advanced scout can rest. Last year we started 2-0, then Tallulah Bankhead made a statement about us, leading to 8 straight defeats! One thing's for sure, we'll celebrate our wins as we get them!

Henry Hank came up huge with his win over Hagler, and my LH lads exceeded expectations.
