Thanks for all you do, Lans. Here's a couple more when you get the time. We've got a modern zombie as ChiSox prospect Jose Rodriguez's facegen, and D-Backs youngster Drey Jameson could use a touch up.

Shawn Chacon
The 100 Greatest Colorado Rockies: 69 Shawn Chacon
Shawn Chacon was explosive for more than his antics off the field. For a time he seemed like the answer for Colorado’s starting pitching woes and to a lesser extent a closer. He is one of the few Rockies pitchers to make the All-Star game. It was hard not to root for the righty from Greeley. Until he started using that arm for more than pitching. Chacon made an impact early in the Rockies rotation his rookie year in 2001. Although going 6-10 with a 5.06 ERA he pitched 160 innings in 27 games. He earned his second highest WAR of his Rockies career at 1.8. But his sophomore year he battled injuries and was eventually demoted to the minors. He would finish 2002 in the big leagues. Chacon had his best season as a Rockie in 2003 with a 1.9 WAR winning 11 games and earned a trip to the All-Star game. His recurring elbow injury left him out of the All-Star game. Chacon didn’t win another game the rest of the season. He was shut down in August for the same injury. The next year he moved to closer and finished the season with 35 saves but had a record of 1-9 with a 7.11 ERA. He later moved on to the Yankees, Pirates and then the Astros in 2008. He was demoted to the bullpen in June. Around that time, then general manager Ed Wade asked to visit Houston manager Cecil Cooper. Chacon said Wade was disrespectful in the exchange. Chacon lost his temper and threw Wade to the ground. Chacon never pitched in the majors again. In 2009 he was arrested for unpaid gambling debts but was released after Las Vegas authorities decided not to extradite him. - roxpile.com Redid the facegen on request.

Ryan Howard
When even the most casual baseball fan envisions a first baseman, they conjure an image that looks a lot like Ryan Howard. In other words, a surprisingly athletic, imposing 6-foot-4, 250-pound frame that looks more natural at defensive tackle than on the baseball diamond. For a time, Howard’s production was the pinnacle of that prototypical first baseman: tape-measure homers and rocket line drives invoking terror in the center of potent offenses. But Howard could never shake the flip side of that archetype. He struck out in nearly a third of his at-bats and walked significantly less. He lumbered on the basepaths and, once a freak injury sapped his power, he became a high-paid albatross for a team needing to rebuild.
Through the first half of his career, Howard seemed headed to Cooperstown. But by the time Howard came onto the Hall of Fame ballot in 2021, he received only eight votes, falling out of consideration after just one year. In the second half of his career, unfairly or not, his legacy became a cautionary tale about overvaluing home runs and RBIs. For Phillies fans, his arrival sparked a near-decade long run of success in the City of Brotherly Love that included five division titles, two pennants, and a World Series ring. For six seasons, Howard was one of the most feared hitters in baseball and the love he gets from Philadelphia speaks to him being the heart of their dynasty. - SABR Redid the facegen by request. The old one seemed relatively fine. To my eye, it had a red tint and was a bit dark against the background, so I tried to moderate that a touch. This is one where the before fg suffers on a mac for sure. Mine may too as it's the same source file.

Jose Rodriguez
Scouting grades: Hit: 55 | Power: 45 | Run: 55 | Arm: 55 | Field: 50 | Overall: 50
Signed for just $50,000 out of the Dominican Republic, Rodriguez has vaulted to the head of the White Sox's 2017-18 international class. He surprised scouts with his power in his 2019 U.S. debut, slugging .505 and placing sixth in the Rookie-level Arizona League with nine homers in 44 games. He continued to impress during his first taste of full-season ball in 2021, batting .301/.338/.469 and reaching Double-A at age 20. Not physically imposing at 5-foot-11 and 175 pounds, Rodriguez has a quick right-handed swing and deceptive strength that give him solid raw power to his pull side. It wasn't quite as evident in games last year, when he made more ground-ball contact than he had in the past, but he has a knack for driving the ball out of the park when he launches it to left field. He'll make some curious swing decisions at times, but he shows some feel for using the entire field and shortening his stroke with two strikes. A solid runner, Rodriguez is aggressive on the basepaths and led Sox farmhands with 30 steals and 41 attempts last season. He has solid arm strength but just average range at shortstop, where he needs more consistency. Club officials believe he makes enough plays to stay at short, but he might be better suited for second base. - mlb.com I didn't have that undead fg file, but saw the one you posted, percolaten. Yikes. Anyway, here's a new one.

Drey Jameson
Scouting grades: Fastball: 65 | Curveball: 55 | Slider: 55 | Changeup 45 | Control: 45 | Overall: 45
Ball State's best mound prospect since Bryan Bullington went No. 1 overall in the 2002 Draft, Jameson initially joined the Cardinals as a two-way player. But when he batted .094 as an outfielder and ranked second among NCAA Division I freshmen in strikeouts (97 in 72 innings), it became clear that the right-hander’s future was on the mound. He opened 2019 with six no-hit innings against a loaded Stanford lineup and quickly established himself as the top age-eligible sophomore pitcher in the 2019 Draft while garnering Mid-American Conference Pitcher of the Year honors and finishing fifth among DI hurlers in strikeouts-per-nine (14.33). He signed with Arizona for below slot value, then opened his pro career at Class A Short Season Hillsboro. Jameson might be undersized, but he also is a tremendous athlete with a lightning-quick arm that helps him generate a fastball that sits 93-96 mph and can top out at 98. He complements his big fastball with a pair of hard breaking balls, as he’ll throw a curveball with depth and a slider with more lateral break. Both pitches have above-average, bat-missing potential, but also have a tendency to blend together at times. Jameson rounds out his pitch mix with a changeup, though it's a bit firm and he doesn't use it very often. Though he dominated as a full-time starter in the spring, scouts worry that Jameson doesn’t have the physicality needed to handle the rigors of starting in pro ball. He does have the stuff for the role, however, and did a much better job of throwing strikes at Ball State in 2019. The D-backs will give him every chance to prove he can start, though it’s safer to project Jameson as a reliever long term. - mlb.com Redid the facegen. |

Sean Boyle
Just over a month ago, Sean Boyle was part of the first-ever combined no-hitter in Hudson Valley Renegades history. On Thursday night, he accomplished the feat himself two levels higher.
Yankees prospect Boyle tossed the second no-hitter of the season for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, striking out six and walking one while giving his team a split of a doubleheader at Worcester via a 5-0 win in the seven-inning nightcap. “It’s leaving me a little bit more at a loss for words, processing it after it happened,” Boyle said after his historic night, which came after Worcester's 5-3 win in the opener. “In the moment, I looked at the scoreboard pretty early and in the third and was like, ‘Alright. I like not giving up hits. Let’s keep this going.'” - mlb.com, Aug 20th2021 I saw the stretched source file for that steamrolled picture on-line. How does one decide to use that as the basis for an fg? There was a more recent fg I found for him in the CUF but redid him anyway. Thanks, and you are very welcome, percolaten.

Fantastic, thanks a lot, as always. It might seem cosmetic, but I don't know, at least for me, well-done facegens significantly increase the overall fun factor of the game.

Gabriel Cancel
#10: Gabriel Cancel, 2B
I have finally convinced enough voters to get Gabriel Cancel into our 2019 top 10 Royals prospects. Cancel, the current Texas League leader in home runs, has been on a power surge for pretty much the entire 2019 season. After leading the Carolina League in doubles in 2018, Cancel has finally turned some of that into home run production in 2019. I wish I could say we saw that coming… - royalsfarmreport.com Cancel didn't appear on the list this year. Notwithstanding that, he deserves a better facegen, so per request, here it is...

Misael Tamarez
#19 Scouting grades: Fastball: 65 | Curveball: 50 | Slider: 55 | Changeup: 50 | Control: 40 | Overall: 40
The Astros have repeatedly hit on signing older pitchers for small bonuses on the international market, uncovering Luis Garcia, Cristian Javier and Framber Valdez. Tamarez may follow the same path after signing for $15,000 out of the Dominican as a 19-year-old in March 2019. He made his U.S. debut four months later and impressed at two Class A levels in 2021, whiffing 103 in 76 2/3 innings with a 3.76 ERA. Tamarez's fastball parked in the low 90s during instructional league in the fall of 2020, then jumped to the mid-90s and touched 99 mph last season. His heater has a flat approach angle and good carry up in the zone, and it plays well in tandem with a mid-80s slider that overmatched lower-level right-handed hitters. He also can flash a solid changeup with fade and mix in a power curveball with more depth than his slider. Tamarez battled the strike zone until he got to High-A, where he issued just 10 walks in 33 2/3 innings. He has the athleticism and strength to develop average control, though he'll have to prove he can provide consistent strikes in more than just a sample size. He has a ceiling of a No. 4 starter but could wind up as a multi-inning reliever. - mlb.com Redid the facegen by request. Made it so that if the database updates his weight to his current listed 206lbs, the face should still work and not be auto-bloated. He still has his old weight of 165 lbs in the game.

Jose Tena
#17 Scouting grades: Hit: 55 | Power: 45 | Run: 55 | Arm: 55 | Field: 55 | Overall: 45
The nephew of 16-year big leaguer Juan Uribe, Tena signed for $400,000 out of the Dominican Republic as part of what could be a special Guardians 2017 international class. After batting .319 with two homers in Rookie ball in his first two pro seasons, he used his pandemic downtime to get stronger in 2020. He added 15 pounds before hitting .281 with 16 homers as a 20-year-old in High-A last year, then won the Arizona Fall League batting title (.387) and claimed a spot on the 40-man roster. Tena has a well-rounded game but stands out most for his hitting ability, the product of a sweet left-handed swing and outstanding hand-eye coordination. His extra muscle translated into more bat speed and higher exit velocities last year, and while he won't be a slugger he should be able to provide 15 or more homers per season. Though he showed more patience in 2021, his walk rate still was just 6 percent because he makes contact so easily. An aggressive runner with solid speed, Tena can steal an occasional base. He also improved his arm strength to solid during his layoff, enhancing his changes of staying at shortstop. He covers ground with a quick first step, has reliable hands and is a solid defender at short and third base and perhaps plus at second base. - mlb.com

Peyton Battenfield
MLB.com: What would you say is your best pitch?
Battenfield: Fastball. That's what my bread and butter is. I feel like I could throw that every single time and it's going to work for me almost every time. … Some days, the slider’s the good strikeout pitch. Most days, it’s my fastball. I throw it the majority of the time. And just being able to use it off of other pitches, my fastball can set up my other pitches just like my other pitches can set up my fastball for strikeouts. MLB.com: So many pitchers rave about Cleveland’s development team. Was it clear why they’re so good at their craft when you got here? Battenfield: The Guardians know what they're talking about. But like with the Rays, they kept things a little more simple. I like that aspect of pitching: Keeping things simple and not overthinking. And then the Astros and the Guardians are a little bit more analytical and looking more into the numbers, which is good. I like having the simple plan and then if the simple plan is not working, I'll be like, well now I know what to do with this guy. I'm in a jam. This guy can't hit so-and-so pitch, so I'm going to go at him with that. I have been fortunate to be in three of the top pitching programs, which has been fantastic because they all do things really similar, but they all have little things that kind of set them apart. And so I can kind of pick from each on things that I like and things that I don't like and just kind of basically kind of Frankenstein and put pieces together on the things that I like. - mlb.com Here's the second one. There was a facegen for him already done that I liked in the CU Facepack. I just touched it up as it looked more like the smiling him (and there are a lot of smiling pictures of him out there) than the single closed mouth picture and the mouth was addressed very well.

I seem to only have 2012 Indians shortstop Juan H Diaz Facegen listed for former Cuban 2002 Red Sox first baseman Juan C Diaz. Could we get a Facegen of the latter?

Juan Diaz (2002)
Cuban first baseman Juan Diaz had a promising career with the Dodgers until they got caught for illegal scouting. Now his future is with the Red Sox. Diaz, declared a free agent by the commissioner’s office in June, signed with Boston on Saturday. He’s expected to report to the Red Sox minor league camp this week. In three seasons in the Dodger system, Diaz had 65 homers, 219 runs batted in and batted .267 with a .503 slugging percentage. In 254 at-bats last season at double-A San Antonio, he had nine homers and 52 RBIs and batted .303.
“We followed him the past couple of years with the Dodgers and we liked his power potential,” Red Sox General Manager Dan Duquette said. “We’re always looking for legitimate right-handed power hitters.” The 6-foot-2, 228-pound Diaz, 24, had an impressive workout with the Red Sox last July 20 before a game against Florida at Fenway Park. So why did it take so long for him to sign? “They thought they should get a lot more money,” Duquette said. - LA Times, March 2000 In 14 seasons in the minors, Diaz made his professional debut with the Red Sox in 2002 and promptly hit an RBI double in a 7-5 win over the Colorado Rockies. He went 2 for 7 in those four games, including a home run. -boston.com Yup, diesel320, I didn't see a facegen for him in the CUF either. Here's one for you...
