Great month for us. We are now in 1st place for the 1st time all season. Made some trades that I believe will benefit us for the remainder of the season and in the playoffs.

August will be tough overall. Brandywine has come back to near death to become a near .500 team. We play Madison, Corvair & Alderaan in a 10 game stretch. The other 3 playoff teams will be are best test this late in the season.Glenbard is not out of the race in the NL West and will also be tough.

3 games @ Brandywine. we are 6-1 vs them. Had they played this well in the beginning the would be right with us & Corvair. Offensively they are among the best in the NL. They have a great pen.

We are now 3½ games behind Corvair , so this series matters a lot to us. We need to take 3 of 4 just to stay within reach of them. If they take 3 of 4 they will cruise to the division title. A split will keep us in a good position but still give us a tough road ahead of us.
Corvair is an excellent team from top to bottom. One player goes down with an injury and they have a backup capable of doing as good as the starter. R.P. McMurphy is the front runner for NL MVP. Tyrus Cobb is the front runner for ROTY & Frank Bean has NL CBPOTY wrapped up.

We lost 3 of 4 to Corvair and need to win 2 of 3 vs Alderaan. As it stands right now they will have home field advantage vs us in the NLDS. The Royals are a solid team in a weak division. Many players are having career years and in some cases like Mike Sieb, Jimmy All & John Lindsey have resurrected their careers this season.
