Non-heavies from the Twenties
I've prepared a .zip archive containing over 90 fighters from the 1920s in the lower weight divisions--31 welterweights, 33 lightweights, and 32 featherweights. (I'd started out to post the fighters one by one, but the task was too time-consuming. What is more, even one-division archives proved too large for the OOTP Forums.) Consequently, Cornerwork has the whole archive and should post it soon. Contained are the following welterweights: Pete August Sid Barbarian Leonard Bennett Harry "Kid" Brown Sam Bruce Luke Carr Meyer Cohen Pat Corbett Paul Demsky Andy DiVodi Madison Dix Billy Drako Charley Feraci Don Fraser Ruby Goldstein Willie Harmon Piet Hobin Ted "Krashing" Krache Canada Lee Cleto Locatelli Fred "Dummy" Mahan Freddie Polo Manuel Quintero Morrie Schlaifer Joe Schlocker Dorey Shimar Joe Simonich Jack Sparr Bobby Tracey Archie Walker Georgie Ward Also included are photos of Goldstein, Schlaifer, and Ward. The following lightweights will be found in the .zip: Davey Abad Joe Benjamin Tommy Cello Sammy Dorfman Harry Dublinsky Davie Flash Bruce Flowers Bobby Garcia Oscar Goldman Joey Goodman Al Gordon Billy Grime Ever Hammer Alex Hart Willie Jackson Stanislaus Loayza Joe Marcus Harry Mason Phil McGraw Tommy O'Brien Augie Pisano Luis Rayo Joe Salas Solly Seeman Baby Sal Sorio Francois Sybille Billy Townsend Johnny Trambitas Benny Valgar Luis Vicentini Sammy Vogel Billy Wallace Al Winkler Also included are pictures of Cello, Hammer, Mason, O'Brien, Salas, Sorio, and Townsend. And these 32 featherweights are in the archive: Eddie "Cowboy" Anderson Georgie Balduc Bobby Brady Benny Brostoff Enrique Chafferdet Milton Cohen Wilbur Cohen Al Corbett Henry Falegano Johnny Farr Ignacio Fernandez Vic Foley Danny Frush Josep Girones Sailor Willie Gordon Johnny Helstein Abie Israel Danny Kramer Knud Larsen Andy Martin Edouard Mascart Lew Mayrs Young Nationalista Paul Noack Leo "Kid" Roy Babe Ruth Joey Sangor Pete Sarmiento Al Tripoli Allan Whitlow Santiago Zorilla Phil Zwick Also included are pictures of Farr, Kramer, Nationalista, Roy, Sarmiento, and Zorilla. Hope these fighters help some of you guys fill out your universes!

Thanks David for the smaller guys. Guess I'll head over to cornerwork and see if they are available yet and get them added to my universe.
By the way, the featherweight you rated named Babe Ruth, surely is not the Great Bambino? Scot |

David;
Great work! No wonder it's been quiet on the Texas front lately. You've been busy! Thanks again.

Scot,
At 215 pounds, the Bambino would have fought as, er, a heavyweight. I know little else about the featherweight who fought under the name Babe Ruth except that he was from Louisville. He lost to Barney Ross, Petey Sarron, Freddie Miller, Cecil Payne, and King Tut among others during his career. He did, however, beat Eddie Shea, Lew Mayrs, Georgie Balduc, Bobby Garcia, Billy Petrolle, and Red Chapman.

Basil Galiano
Here's a fighter whom I didn't include in the Twenties Non-Heavies .zip archive at Cornerwork. He fought as a junior welterweight.

Archie Bell
I've written out his ratings on this thread before, but here's an exchange file for the Brooklyn-born banty who fought from 1922 to 1931. A head shot of him can be found under the "Missing Fighter Photos" thread.

Kid Francis
Francesco Buonagurio, a bantamweight out of Naples with a career record of 87-11-8. He fought from 1923 to 1935. During the Second World War, he was murdered by the Nazis. (Ironically, he lost on points in 1933 to Young Perez, who was also murdered by the Nazis--in Auschwitz. You could probably compile an All-Star team of boxers who died at German Nazi hands.)
