Hey guys,
The 2004 trading deadline came and passed with a couple of trades. Felons now have Agent1 and dbakcs, while as Neal starts a new career with the Storm. And appearently the Felons gt one good deal which improved their team drmatically. In this crazy sim, the Felons pulled away from the rest of the pack beating the Storm 5 out of 6 times during the 2 weeks, and now have themselves a huge 8 games gap on the Storm. On the other end, the Jailblazers have shorten the gap and is only now 10 games away from the strggling storm for the final playoff spot. Agent1 proves to be a great trade for tyhe Felons. The 3 games that he pitched for his new team, he won all of them while only giving away 7 runs in total. Even though he is playing great on the field, he is struggling off the field. Gabe and his agent, Neal have shown disgreement with Felons' GM, Shub. And it seems as of today that Gabe will be sitting out the playoffs for a trade away from the Felons. And with Shub's personality, it is very possible that if Gabe chooses to sit out, he will not see another day in the GFBL again. The situation is getting out of hands and Gabe's agent, Neal will have to fix this quick or his client's pro career may come to an end this season, his first season in the GFBL. Gabe is among one of the best starting pitchers this season with a 3.42 ERA and a 9-3 record in 15 games pitcherd. In other news, Sportkrazy has taken over the lead on all 3 of the triple crown categories, .365 with 42 HR and 115 RBI's. With only 115 games played I will not be surprised if sporkrazy finishes up with over 150 rbi's and 60 HR. He has taken over matt as the best and the most powerful hitter in the GFBL. Congrats to August players of the Month: Quote:
That's all for this sim. With just over a month left in the 2004 regular season, the standing is pretty much set however watch for the Jailblazers to make one final charge near the end. See you all back on the fields next sim.

Exclusive Interview - ey215
Scouting Report - SP ey215 (Jailblazers)
Pitching ey has all his weapons, and he can easily dial it up to the mid-90s. He runs his moving fastball in on righthanded hitters' fists, and spots his screwball-like circle change, curve and slider. He has excellent command of all his pitches and can put a hitter away with any of them. Once he gets ahead and can make the hitter expand the zone, he's nearly unhittable. Defense Light on his feet, Martinez fields his position well, but is only average at keeping runners close. He has a decent spin move to first, and prefers to save his effort by simply looking runners back. Career Highlights: *GFBL pitcher of the year; 2003 *2 time Pitcher of the Month; 2003 *Triple Crown Winner; 2003 *Had a record of 20-9 with an ERA of 2.19 and 5 shutouts. In 38 games started, he pitched 308.1 innings, fanning 318 and walking 61 batters.; 2003 |

Re: Exclusive Interview - ey215
Last year, ey215 was the most dominating pitcher in the GFBL. This year, he has been struggling, and has been used more out of the bullpen by manager matt221334. Here is what the star pitcher has to say about himself.
dbacks: I know a lot of players are superstitious. Do you have a pre-game meal, or ritual, you follow before you pitch? ey: You know, I've never been one to really be superstitious. I do try to eat well before each game, but nothing in particular. Mainly it is all about getting focused to pitch. In the Juveniles clubhouse there is a small putting green. I would spend a lot of time on days when I'm pitiching just putting the ball around. I find it helps me focus. I found it hard when I was in the bullpen to mentally prepare. It's a whole different mindset. dbacks: Who is the hardest hitter for you to pitch to? ey: Man, the hitters in this league are just unreal. With only four teams in the league the talent is just so deep that even the guys batting last are fantastic. If I had to pick one Cuss is tough on me. I've been having a hard time with lefty hitters for some reason this year and he is one of the best of them. dbacks: What's the one thing that makes you successful? ey: You've got to throw strikes. If you're up there walking guys you're just going to get killed. Walks are the one thing as a pitcher you can really control. If you throw strikes you're not going to walk guys. I rarely walk a guy that I'm not meaning to walk or just get around him. dbacks: Your Major League Baseball career got off to a hot start, were you surprised by the success? ey: Honestly? Yes. I have to say I was suprised by my immediate success. I just have to thank the fine coaches I've had in my life for helping me get prepared to play at such a high level. I'm surprised anyone can have a year like I did last year in this league, much less that it was me. dbacks: What has impressed you the most about being in the majors? ey: The competition is just unreal There's not a player out there that wasn't the best at every level he or she played at until they got here. dbacks: As we have all noticed, you're not having nearly the same kind of year as last. In 2003, you went 20-9, and finished the season with a 2.19 ERA. This year, you have been struggling just to keep your place in the rotation, and recently, your GM even removed you completely. What's the difference? Is it just bad luck? ey: To some extent it has to be. The stats you are looking at are the ones that I have the least amount of control over. Now don't get me wrong. I contributed a lot to the good and the bd stats, but my personal wins and losses and ERA aren't what are important to me. I think the Juveniles defense has gotten a little worse this year and that's contributed to more earned runs. In additon the run support just hasn't been there. I think it's a combination of bad luck, and not getting an opportunity to work a few rough starts out of the statistics. dbacks: You have just been traded from the Juveniles to the Jailblazers as part of a huge three team deal. What are your reactions to this trade? What is it like when you leave your teammates behind to go to a different team, and make that adjustment to a whole new set of people and a new place? ey: I am ecstatic to have been traded to the Jailblazers. This is obviously a top notch organization. Plus it gets me back into the starting rotation. It's hard to leave the guys you've spent a year and a half with. Especially when you've gone through the a process like winning a championship together. It really brings a group close together. I'm looking forward to helping these new guys experience that. dbacks: You currently have the largest salary in the GFBL, at $10,000,000 per year. There has been a lot of talk lately that you are overpayed, and many people are doubting your talent, claiming that last year was just a fluke. What do you have to say to that? ey: In regards to the money, I just have to thank my agent, Remdawg, for helping me take care of my family. I earned that contract by leading the Juveniles to a title. Plain and simple. As for being overpaid, lets take a look at a couple of things. First off I was being used incorrectly this year with the Juveniles. If you look at my statistics they are not all that bad. The manager over there was only looking at wins and losses and era, not real performance. Right now I am in the top ten in the leauge in 8 categories. Only losses is a bad category that I'm in the top ten in. The other seven are Saves, Complete Games, Shutouts, Stikeouts, ERA, R/9, and K/9. Admittedly saves are a pretty useless stat. But I've got only 49 less strikeouts than Cooleyvol the leader in 55 less inning pitched. Hell there are more innings between me and TimJohonson and only 4 strikeouts seperating us. Use me correctly and I earn my money. The season is a marathon, not a sprint, and notice what little good it did the Juves to take me out of the rotation. dbacks: Since you were traded you have been simply dominating, going 3-0, with a 1.73 ERA. What are the adjustments you have made? ey: The adjustments I made were easy. I've got a new manager. I've been ptiching very well for the last 3 months but the manager of the Juves wasn't smart enough to see it. I'm glad to be in a place where I can be appreciated. dbacks: Well, thank you very much for answering the questions. Your time is always appreciated. Good luck the rest of the season. |

What I'm going to try and do is interview evveryone the most active players in the league. Even though I'd like to interview guys like Mr.Opinion or my connor180, they probably don't even know the league exists, so there's no way that's going to happen. But, superstars or not, I'll try to interview as many active players as possible.

All this talk about matt, cuss, TimJohnson and the GFBL Finals, the Storm seems to forget that they still have to finish in the top two to be able to win a ring. On the other hand, the Jailblazers, a team full of hard-working, determined and persistent players have been playing just plainly UNBELIEVABLE. They are 12-1 in the last 13 games played including a 6-game stretch against the Storm where the Blazers won EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM. ey215, a definite key in the Jailblazers huge turnaround, is 5-0 since being acquired from the Juves and has only allowed 6 runs in the 6 games that he has pitched. And of course, the team cannot be winning with one player, Remdawg, attackmu connor180 and even konholeyo are all contributing at a consistent pace. Everyone is doing his share and therefore the team is winning. Since the acuisition of star catcher, matt221334, the Storm has been sliding down the ladder. The Storm is on a 13 game losing streak and has only won twice this entire month. GM metskid has done a poor job of managing this team playing only a 4-man rotation which features 3 rookies (TimJohnson 15-9, MR.Opinion 11-7, Explosive 1-8) and as it looks now, the lack of experience has taken its toll on these young guys. The team is just playying horribly and several players on the team are very unhapy with the way things are going.
The 1st place Felons continue their ways and have expanded the lead from the second place Blazers by almost 20 games. They will be in the GFBL finals and will be the sure favorite to win the title. Behind the stubborn Shub, the team has never looked better. Shub, despite his stubborness and strict team policies, has put together a team that seems unbeatable. With likely triple crown winner, sportkrazy batting .360 with 44 HR and 126 RBI's in only 129 games played and the many supporting cast such as Franchiseplayer2k4 and batboy, this team has one of the best lineups of all time. The Juves are playing just as bad as they have been all season long. After the huge signing of MVPplayer, the team has not played any better. The rookie is only batting .170 with 1 RBI in 14 games played. Maybe he wil turn it on next season like what batboy, RayofHope and Franchiseplayer2k4 did just to name a few. However it will be a long shot and because of MVPplayer's ridiculessly high contract, the league will be looking to futher strengthening the signing rules. I still cant believe that the Storm has lost the huge lead they built up the first half of the season. This just shows anythign can happen if you just dont give up. The blazers are definitely the "cinderella" this season. Congratulations and see you all on the field! |
