Five minor league players have announced their retirement.
Justin Bellinger peaked at AAA. He came to the Jays in a trade with Miami back in 2020. Dave Hollins Jr. got as high as AA. He had two stints in the Blue Jay organization - the current one started in 2021 when he came from Oakland as part of a trade. Jake Brigham pitched in 12 games with Atlanta back in 2015. He signed a minor league deal with the Jays back in April, but was unable to crack the big league roster. Adam Plutko got as high as AAA. He came over from the Marlins organization just in July. Dario Agrazal never got higher than Short A. He signed on as a minor leaguer in July.

Michael Brantley has an elbow contusion. He has been placed on the 8-day IL, but that is likely all he will need.
Jack Benninghoff is called up from Buffalo.
