Boston broke out to a 5-0 lead but Brooklyn came roaring back to beat them 10-5 behind a solid day by Sam Crawford, who went 3 for 5 with a pair of doubles and three RBI.

WP - Johnny Lush (4-2)
LP - Cy Barger (1-2)

Record - 93-59

With two games left against the Giants, the Superbas have a Magic Number of 1. They could clinch the NL pennant tomorrow.

Not only did Brooklyn win the pennant, but what a way to do it!

10th inning, down by a run. and Cy Seymour lunched a home run to give the Superbas a 3-2, walk of win against the Giants!

The Champagne corks are flying!

Playing mostly September call-ups (it is possible that celebration yesterday had a deleterious effect on the physical well-being of many players), the Superbas dropped their final regular season game, 3-2, the the Giants.

WP - Jon Adkins (4-2)
LP - Bugs Raymond (9-8)

FINAL REGULAR SEASON RECORD - 94-60

Bring on the Athletics!

1909 Batting Champions

NL - Tris Speaker, Boston - .367

AL - Ty Cobb, St. Louis - .334

Bob Unglaub was 3rd best at .310

Christy Mathewson was 2nd to Charlie Bender in strikeouts, which was the only thing that stopped him from getting the Pitching Triple Crown.
