Awards, Arbitration, and Pre-Free Agency

November 3rd, 2025: I had a busy offseason ahead of me, and I needed to find a way to win the toughest division in baseball. Four teams with 88 or more wins and the last place team with 79 wins, all five teams are playoff worthy.

Somehow, my payroll is up to $204,875,000 and I don't know how that even makes sense. So as you'd expect, I have to cut a lot of salary...

My bench coach Tim Wallach retired, so I promoted AAA Manager Arnie Beyeler.

The Texas Rangers were purchased by Tim Richards. He's a local civic leader and businessman who will be demanding and an economizer.

The Cardinals fired GM Carlos Hernandez. He's had a rough time the past four years, with 90 or more including 104 losses this year.

I offered Dinelson Lamet and Shoehi Ohtani qualifying offers.

Here's the arbitration offers:
SP Jake Florence (7-years, $109,450,000)
RP Dylan Cease (1-year, $4,090,000)
RP Slade Cecconi (1-year, $3,780,000)
RP Alpha Quivers (1-year, $4,800,000)
C Thomas Dillard (1-year, $20,630,000): Can't even imagine his final year...
1B Seth Beer (1-year, $9,120,000)
2B Isan Diaz (DFA/Non-Tendered)
2B Jeison Guzman (1-year, $1,340,000)
LF Lazaro Armenteros (1-year, $3,520,000)
CF Mickey Moniak (1-year, $10,350,000)

I released Austin Hedges to make room for actiating Ben Popkin. I also will have to make room for minor league reliever Josh Watson, who's rated a 3.5*.

November 6th, 2025: Diaz was outrighted to AAA.

I traded A.J. Labas to the Cubs for Danny Jarmillo. Jarmillo isn't great, but acquiring the former 2nd Rounder frees up a forty man spot for Josh Watson.

Watson, the former 27th Overall Pick back in 2018, is rated a 3.5 with 96 stuff. He's got a devestating slider/fastball combo and he can hit triple digits. He throws from a nasty 3/4 angle, and has been with us since 2019 where I signed him as a minor league free agent. He's a little outspoken, but with the leadership in place, we should be fine in dealing with him.

November 8th, 2025: The Royals traded RF Johanser Pontier to the Blue Jays for RHP Erling Moreno. I like this deal for both teams.

November 11th, 2025: Isaac Nunez was named the NL's Gold Glove at shortstop. It's the first of his young career.

November 12th, 2025: Detroit CL Edwin Diaz and Mets CL Jamie Callahan were named Reliever of the Year.

November 13th, 2025: Thomas Dillard won the Platinum Stick at Catcher. It's the second of his career, the other coming back in 2023.

November 14th, 2025: Angels C C.J. Willis and former Marlin and current Philly 2B Tyler Callighan won Rookie of the Year.

November 15th, 2025: Tigers Manager Tom Prince and Braves Manager Dave Hengel were named Manager of the Year.

November 16th, 2025: Mariners SP Sergio Barreto and Cubs SP Jorge Flores were named Cy Young Winners. Mike Soroka got 42 points and finished in fourth, although Flores was a unanimous winner.

November 17th, 2025: Orioles SS Logan Davidson and Braves 1B Freddie Freeman were named MVP. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. finished in 6th (108), Thomas Dillard in 7th (87), and Mike Soroka (10) and Seth Beer (5) finished much farther back.

November 18th, 2025: The Orioles traded SS Osiris Johnson to the Reds for RHP Dennis Santana and SS Nesty Cirese. I like this deal for the Orioles.

November 25th, 2025: Both Dinelson Lamet and Shohei Ohtani rejected qualifying offers, so I will net two compensation picks. Chasen Shreve is also filing for free agency, but I didn't want to risk offering him a qualifying offer.

Free Agents file tomorrow, and I have my work cut out for me!

Free Agency Pt. 1

November 26th, 2025: Here is who OSA considers the top Free Agents:

RHP A.J. Puckett
RF Bryce Harper
RHP Tyler Mahle
RHP Michael Fullmer
RHP Thyago Vieira
1B Dominic Smith
SS Francisco Lindor
3B Nick Senzel
3B Rafael Devers
CL Edwin Diaz

Again, I'm keeping track of compensation free agents to make sure everyone gets their pick.

The Brewers traded LF Andre Tarver to the Dodgers for SS Amin Valdez. I like this deal for the Dodgers.

I'm like $40,000,000 in the red, so I don't have a clue what I'm going to do, but I definitely have to either shed salary, or kill my owner to get a generous one, and I haven't found a way to do that in OOTP, yet...

November 30th, 2025: I submitted my Hall of Fame ballot today:

3B Adrian Beltre
1B Jason Giambi
SP Felix Hernandez
LF Matt Holliday
C Joe Mauer
CL Joe Nathan
1B Albert Pujols
CL Francisco Rodriguez
SS Jimmy Rollins
SP CC Sabathia

I left Justin Verlander off the ballot, not because I don't think he deserves it, but becausue he could get in without my vote, where some of the guys need the vote more.

My guess is Pujols, Mauer, JV, K-Rod, CC, and Beltre have a chance to get inducted.

December 2nd, 2025: The Padres traded RHP Jonathan Butler and LF Greg Jones to the Royals for 1B Steve Sparks. The Royals really finessed the Padres, considering Sparks is the worst of the three players.

December 4th, 2025: I had to start cost cutting, sending SP Walker Buehler and 1B Nate Bagwell to the Dodgers for SP Jose Quintana with 50% of his salary retained. It was tough dealing Buehler, but that's the problem with being a small market team...

Quintana is a stud, a 3.5*, but I might try flipping him. "Q" is 36, and a career 148-117 with a 3.40 ERA and 1.20 WHIP with a 25 games started vesting optoin for next year. And now I'm just $25 million in the red...

December 5th, 2025: The Mariners traded C Ethan Hedrick to the Padres for RHP Pedro Fernandez and LHP Eric Moore. I like this deal for both teams, but the Padres got the better side.

December 6th, 2025: The Tigers sent 3B Isaac Paredes to the Royals for RHP Nick Neidert and RHP Gilberto Ramos. It's an even deal.

December 8th, 2025: More cost cutting, and I traded CF Mickey Moniak and 2B Jeison Guzman to the Reds for RHP's Ignacio Hinojos and Leonel Olvera. Both will be headed to the active roster, as I have to protect Olvera from the Rule-5 Draft.

Hinojos, 23, is the headliner, a 3/4.5 as a RP and 2/3.5 as a SP. The former 17th Rounder was released on draft day, and has bouned around since, but has become an elite talen. He's got some of the best stuff in the game, with a 94 fastball, 95 curve, and 97 change and he can reach triple digits. He's a durable young arm, and has a spot reserved in the pen or rotation.

Olvera, 22, is rated a 1.5/3.5 as a SP, and he's got the ability to go deep into games. He's recovering from a torn elbow ligament, but he's got four plus pitches and can also hit triple digits. He gets great movement on his pitches and spots them well. He's got a big of developing to do, but he could maintain a rotation spot for years to come.

Still $16 million in the red...

December 9th, 2025: The Royals made a huge splash, signing Francisco Lindor to a 5-year, $150,0600,000 contract. He's a career .310/.378/.520 hitter with 291 homers, 1,053 RBI's, and has been worth 74.6 wins above replacement at just 32 years of age. That's just 5.2 below the "best shortstop ever" Derek Jeter...

December 10th, 2025: I protected fromer 1st Rounder and RP/CF Ken Adeniran from the Rule-5 draft and purchased his contract. He's now looking more like a reliever, rated with 3* potential and 98 potential stuff. I also protected LF/SP Matt Hogan, who's more of an outfielder and rated a 1.5/2.5 with elite speed and defense.

December 11th, 2025: The Angels signed CL Craig Kimbrel to a 3-year, $49.4 million contract. The 37-year-old vet has 519 career saves.

December 13th, 2025: Today the winter meeitngs start! The Indains traded 2B Tyler Freeman and cash considerations to the Brewers for 1B Braden Shewmake. Just because of the Cash, I like this deal for the Brewers.

I made a deal of my own, shipping out Quintana to the Royals for RF Jarred Kelenic, and I'm now just under $4 million under.

Kelenic, the former 18th Overall Pick, is a great leader and is making the minimum. He's rated a 3.5 as a RF and 1.5 as a SP, and will continue to be a two way guy. He's got a cannon in right, great speed, and a great bat. He's hit .297/.385/.501 in 1,045 at bats with the Royals in 281 games.

December 14th, 2025: Today was a busy day!

First, the Red Sox resigned Bryce Harper to a 5-year, $160,000,000 deal and then signed former Marlin Dinelson Lamet to a 4-year, $12.5 million per year contract. With the Lamet signing, I'll net a compensation pick, and the Red Sox forefit the pick they got for Kimbrel.

The Mets acquired RHP Robert Stephenson, SS Luis Zargosa, and SS Phil Reed from the Reds for SS Andres Gimenez. Why did the Mets have to make a good deal...

The A's got former Marlin LF Kyle Lewis from the Cubs for LHP Jaden Jiggets and 3B Jorge Mendoza. It's an even enough deal.

The Mariners traded RHP Sang-kuk Joung to the Athletics for CF Jameson Hannah and cash considerations. It's a fair deal, but again, the cash gives the M's the edge.

I made a deal of my own, sending Dylan Cease to the team that drafted him, the Cubs, for 1B Garrett Frechette. So close to being back in the green!

Frechette, 24, is a former 5th Rounder who made his debut last year, hitting .345/.424/.517 in 29 at bats with 4 RBI's. He's got a big bat, and is rated a 3/3.5 with the ability to play the corner outfield spots as well as first. He's also got decent speed, and 2 more options.

December 16th, 2025: The Winter Meeetings end today, so of course, moves were made after a quiet day yesterday.

The Cardinals signed Nick Goody to a 3-year, $11.6 million per year deal. He has 110 career saves and a 4.20 ERA and 1.20 WHIP in 625.2 innings with the Yankees, Indians, Royals, Red Sox, and Mets.

The Rangers traded RHP Carlos Lomeli and RHP Jimmy Chapman to the Mariners for 1B Franklin Reyes. I really like this deal for the Mariners.

The Red Sox acquired CF Jhon Solarte and SS Mathis Friedman from the Blue Jays for RHP Logan Shore. It's a nice deal for the Sox.

I traded RHP Slade Cecconi and LHP Dylan Wisner to the Yankees for RHP's Brennan Malone and Jeremy Reller, as well as LHP Jeff Buehler to finally get out of the red.

Malone, 25, is the headliner. The former 39th overall pick is rated a 3/4.5 as a RP and 0.5/3.5 as a SP. He's got plus stuff, including a 90 rated fastball that is consistentl yin the 95-97 range to go wtih a plus curve and solid change up. He's got plus movement and control as well, and has the tools to be a #1 or #2.

Reller, 23, was selected 20th Overall in 2024, and is rated a 1/2.5. He's got elite stuff, with a top notch fastball and change up, and can hit triple digits with a 10-15 MPH drop in his change. He's got to work on his control, but he can make a big league pen.

Buehler, 22, was selected in the 3rd round of this year's draft, and is rated a 3.5 potential. The lefty had a plus-plus fastball and splitter, and can also touch triple digits. He's got good stamina out of the pen, and has solid movement and control. He's raw, but has a ton of upside.

Now that the money is in order, I can focus on the only upgrade I really need, a 5th starter.

December 18th, 2025: I decided to purchase the contract of 3B Roberto Pena from AAA. The former Arizona 4th Rounder is rated a 2.5/3 and is a pretty good hitter and defender.

December 20th, 2025: I made myself a splash, sending almost a full infield: SS Luis Padilla, 2B Tristan Hanoian, and 1B C.J. Vick to the Rangers for SP Devon Peterson.

Peterson, 27, is rated a 3.5/4 with plus stuff and control. All four of his pitches (cutter, slider, change, forkball) are plus offerings and he gets good movement on his pitches. He reaches triple digits occasionally, keeps the ball on the ground, and goes deep into games. The former 15th Overall pick is a career 19-25 with a 5.35 ERA, 1.53 WHIP, and 344 strikeouts in 375.1 innings, but he's much better then the numbers suggest.

I also traded Isaiah Musa to the Red Sox for CF Bob Poulson. This years 30th overall pick, he's rated a 0.5/3 wtih top speed, elite contact ability, and a great ability to man centerfield. He looks a lot better then a 3* based purely off his tools, and I have high hopes for the lefty.

December 21st, 2025: Here is a big, big deal: The Reds signed 3B Rafael Devers to a 8-year, $408,000,000 contract. He has an opt out after year four, but will make $51 million in each season of the deal. After spending one year in Seattle, he hit the open market again with his 2nd best season of his career. The 29-year-old is a career .311/.370/.572 hitter with 324 homers and 956 RBI's in 5,854 at bats.

December 23rd, 2025: Another big third basemen went off the market, as the Angels signed 3B Nick Senzel. He signed for 6-years, $26.6 million per year, with an opt out after year four. The longtime Red is a career .311/.379/.502 hitter with 146 homres and 583 RBI's and lead the NL with a .326 batting average this year.

December 24th, 2025: Today is the Rule-5 Draft, but first a pair of trades:

The Cardinals traded RHP Tylor Megill and RHP Victor Mederos to the Brewers for LF Corbin Carroll. Absolute steal for the Brewers.

The Astros acquired C Danny Jansen and LHP Juan Ramos from the Pirates for RHP Zach Gatewood, LHP A.J. Rister, and CF Dylan Crews. It's an even enough deal.

To the Rule-5 draft, I lost Harrison Bader, a 31-year-old, to th Cardinals with the first pick. I DFA'd Kenyon Yovan to select 20-year-old C Dermott MacGregor. It's a bit of a stretch pick, but he is developing his glove and has 4.5* potential. He's got a solid bat, but a lot of work to keep developing. Never playing above Class A, he's got a long way to go, but he's worth the gamble.

December 27th, 2025: The Red Sox claimed Kenyon Yovan off waivers.

December 28th, 2025: Michael Fulmer eventually decided his best option was to stay in Detroit, and he signed a 5-year, $114 million contract with a 180 innings pitched vesting option for 2030. From 2016-2025, he was 86-107 with a 4.63 ERA and 1.35 WHIP with the Tigers. He was aqful from 2019-2022, which really inflates his ERA and WHIP.

The Mets added 2 years to CL Jamie Callahan's contract. They'll pay him $16.8 million each year starting in 2027. He's recored 224 saves with a 2.85 ERA and 1.17 WHIP in 550 appearences out of the pen.

The Mets then traded RHP Luis Santillan and LHP Steve Penton to the Athletics for RHP Sam Runion and LHP Doug Parsons. I like this deal for the Mets.

Lastly, the Rockies sent C Luca Tresh and RF Justin Quintana to the Nationals for LHP Jay Groome. I like this deal for the Rox, although I'm not sure an extreme flyball pitcher will do well in Coors Field...

December 29th, 2025: The Angels expanded the pocket books to sign 1B Dominic Smith to a 7-year, $154,800,000 contract. He's a career .281/.349/.481 with 210 homers and 697 RBI's, mainly with the Mets.

December 30th, 2025: The Cubs signed CL Thyago Vieira to a 3-year, $66,600,000 contract. After spending a year in Toronto that wasn't as good as it could have been, he still got a good deal. He's got 140 saves with a 4.16 ERA and 1.55 WHIP in 511 innings.

The Cardinals traded SS Noah Campbell to the Mariners for RHP Joe LaBrie. I like this deal for the Cards.

The defending champion Rays traded RHP Dallas Woolfolk to the Padres for RF Gabriel Alejando Arias and RHP Kevin Poole. It's a fair deal.

December 31st, 2025: Hopefully, the Mets crippled themselves by signing SP Tyler Mahle to a 5-year, $171,000,000 contract. The injur prone Mahle has started 34 games two straight years, so it's likely not going to be the case this year. He was terrible in 2024, but bounced back in 2025 and lead the AL with 19 wins. He's a career 66-64 with a 4.34 ERA and 1.30 WHIP.

Free Agency Pt. 2

January 1st, 2026: The Cubs signed LF Ian Happ to a 2-year extension, worth a total of $19 million. He's a career .251 hitter with 237 homres and 676 RBI's.

Settle signed 37-year-old veteran Chris Archer to a 1-year, $3,760,000 contract. "Flaco Fuerte" is a career 108-126 with a 3.94 ERA and 1.21 WHIP with the Rays and Cardinals.

The Cardinals signed former Marlin C Victor Caratini to a 2-year, $10.2 million per year deal. He's hit .261/.332/.408 in 2,647 career at bats with the Cubs, Marlins, Indians, and Mets.

January 4th, 2026: The Twins signe the "Cuban Missle" to a 2-year, $25.2 million extension, although the final year is a 40 games finished vesting option. Chapman has spend the past two seasons in Minnesota, and the 37-year-old has 394 career saves with a 2.86 ERA and 1.09 WHIP.

January 8th, 2026: The Brewers acquired former 27th overall pick Caiden Matheny from the Cardinals for RHP Chase Costello and LF Jeff Hosey. It's an even enough deal, but I like the Crew's side better.

The Pirates sent RHP Cal Coughlin to the Mets for LHP Jorge Flores (not the Cubs superstar). It's an absolute steal for the Mets, and I think the Pirates thought they were getting the Cubs star.

January 10th, 2026: The Dodgers opeend the pocket books to sign CF Brett Phillips to a massive 5-year, $162.5 million contract. The 31-year-old will return to the Dodgers, who acquired him from the Reds. He's a career .258/.334/.521 hitter with 278 homers and 764 RBI's.

January 11th, 2026: The Braves acquired CL Dovydas Neverauskas from the Pirates for RHP Ethan Dreyer and LF Andy Alcazar. I like this deal for the Braves...

January 13th, 2026: I claimed 1B Nate Bagwell of waivers from the Dodgers and sent him to AA. He's the prospect I sent with Walker Buehler to the Dodgers in the Jose Quintana deal. He was DFA'd after the Phillips signing.

January 14th, 2026: The hall of fame results were published, with 1B Albert Pujols (96.5) getting inducted to the hall of fame. Some close players were Adrian Beltres (71.1), CC Sabathia (69.1), Joe Mauer (60.1), Matt Holliday (54), and Justin Verlander (51.8). Manny Ramirez (57.2, 10th Year) was dropped, as well as Bartolo Colon (4.2).

January 15th, 2026: The Minnesota Twins signed RHP Drew Steckenrider to a 3-year, $11.6 per year deal, with the final a 40 games finished vesting option. "Steckasaurus" owns a career 3.30 ERA and 1.33 WHIP with 134 saves in 494.1 innings, mostly with the Marlins.

The Cubs acquired 1B Bert Robertson from the the Tigers for RHP Florencio Serrano. I like this deal for the Tigers.

January 16th, 2026: The Yankees signed young Korean SP Cho-Yeong Hyoun to a 3-year, $5.7 million per year contract. The Seoul native pitched well in the pitcher friendly KBO with three plus pitches. He keeps the ball on the ground, has good control of his pitches, and gets decent movement.

January 20th, 2026: The Mets agreed to a 3-year, $10.1 million per year contract, with the final year a team option with a $1.7 million buyout. The Canadian is 19-13 with 22 saves and a 3.29 ERA in 347 relief appearences.

Up next is the Preseason!

Preseason

January 27th, 2026: The preseason starts today, so I placed Leonoel Olvera, Ben Popkin, and Garrett McDaniels all on the 60-Day DL. Popkin has 3 months left, McDaniels 3-4, and Olvera 4.

January 28th, 2026: The Red Sox signed former Marlin two-way star Shoehi Ohtani to a 2-year, $14.7 million per year deal. As a hitter, he's a career .257/.322/.477 hitter with 144 homers and 429 RBI's. As a pitcher, he is 43-52 with a 4.69 ERA and 1.41 WHIP, although he looked like a future ace in his first two seasons with the Angels.

The Padres signed RHP Jimmie Sherfy to a 1-year, $3,120,000 contract. He has a 4.15 ERA and 1.28 WHIP in 390.1 innings with 74 saves and a 26-26 record.

January 29th, 2026: The Rangers have acquried RHP Tyler Glasnow from the Braves for SS Chris Seise. I like this deal for the Rangers.

February 1st, 2026: The Indians acquired LF Juan Soto from the Nationals for RHP Kyle Molnar and RF Joe Cummings. I like this deal for both teams.

February 10th, 2026: The Braves signed C Cal Raleigh to a 1-year, $2,360,000 contract. The Brewers chose Raleigh over Thomas Dillard when I was looking to acquire a catcher. Raleigh, also a switch hitter, is a career .217/.302/.406 hitter with 77 homres and 225 RBI's in 1,824 at bats compared to Dillard, a career .2267/.373/.514 hitter with 100 homers and 300 RBI's in 1,695 at bats.

The Red Sox acquired 3B Garrett Blaylock from the Angels for LHP JoJo Romero and RHP Josh Hash. I like this deal for the Angels.

February 13th, 2026: The Cubs signed RF Yasiel Puig to a 1-year, $3,720,000 contract. He's returning to the Cubs, who signed him last offseason as well. Puig hit .240/.336/.448 with 13 homres and 38 RBI's.

February 15th, 2026: I claimed former 4th Rounder RF Palban Gamboa off waivers from the Phillies and sent him to Greensboro. The 22-year-old isn't the best defender, but has great pop and an eye and is rated a 3.5 potential.

Spring Training

February 26th, 2026: Today Spring Training starts, and I made my callups.

February 27th, 2026: The Orioles signed LHP Kyle McGrath to a 1-year, $3,280,000 contract. The veteran has pinpoint control, which leads to his impressive 1.7 career BB/9. He owns a 3.52 ERA and 1.09 WHIP in 539.2 innings with 511 strikeouts in 539.2 innings.

February 28th, 2026: The Rockies signed SS Orlando Arcia to a 1-year, $5.2 million contract. The longtime Brewer has a career .278/.323/.447 triple slash with 177 homres and 550 RBI's.

March 6th, 2026: The Mets signed C Wilson Contreras to a 1-year, $2,520,000 contract. The catcher is a career .261/.341/.436 hitter with 160 homers and 565 RBI's, alhtough he hasn't had a really good season since 2022.

March 7th, 2026: The Orioles lost recently signed RHP David Paulino for the year with a torn labrum. He hasn't pitched more then 40 innings in the majors since 2022, the only season he did.

March 11th, 2026: The Astros sent RHP Forrest Whitley to the Rockies for CF Jeren Kendall. I like this deal for the Rockies, considering part of WHitley's contract is being retained.

March 14th, 2026: Juan Ramirez is headed to the DL for about 6 weeks with a fractured thumb. He was supposed to be my starting LF this year...

March 16th, 2026: I signed former Marlin LF Lewis Brinson to a minor league deal, with the intent of using him on the big league roster.

The Braves signed 38-year-old Grant Dayton to a 1-year, $2.4 million contract. Still useful, he owns a career 3.41 ERA and 1.11 WHIP in 622.2 innings.

March 17th, 2026: The Yankees lost SP Hunter Greene for the year with a torn UCL. He's a career 42-39 with a 4.22 ERA and 1.32 WHIP in 673.2 innings. He also hits a bit, and last year he hit .299/.356/.492 with 3 homers and 9 RBI's in 67 at bats.

March 21st, 2026: Toronto RF Nelson Velasquez is out for the year with a torn ACL. The 27-year-old is a career .233/.307/.467 hitter with 69 homers and 197 RBI's.

March 22nd, 2026: I'm down anouther outfielder, as LF Lazaro Armenteros is headed to the DL with a strained hamstring. He'll miss about 8 weeks.

March 30th, 2026: With Spring Training ending, I'm making my final roster cuts.

March 31st, 2026: The Mets have lost LHP Luis Marrero for the year with a torn ulnar collateral ligament. After being one of the most dominant pitchers in the league, the now 34-year-old is coming of a career worst season that saw him demoted to the bullpen.

They then and went to sign former Marlin Chasen Shreve to a 1-year, $2.6 million contract. "Shrever" is a career 50-29 reliever with a 3.90 ERA and 1.21 WHIP in 693 innings with 967 strikeouts.

April 2nd-April 9th

April 2nd, 2026: Happy Opening Day! The preseason predictions list us with the best record in the NL at 94-68, with the Nationals (91-71), Mets (88-74), Braves (82-80), and Phillies (74-88) following us.

The top 100 prospects were published, with LHP Esteban Aguirre of the Reds listed at #1. SS prospect Rogelio Maldonado ranks #3 for our highest ranked prospect. We rank 17th in the league, with our only other top 100 prospect SP Chris Bigsby (96th). Our only other notable is 3B Ben Davis (164th).

The Astros signed RHP Julian Fernandez to a 1-year, $3,040,000 contract.

We start the year on the road, facing the Nationals tomorrow. We'd see Sonny Warner, have a quick off day, and then finish with Cole Ragans and Jacob Heatherly.

April 3rd, 2026: We start out season today in D.C. as we take on the Nationals in our quest to the 2026 World Series. Jake Florence took on Sonny Warner in the opener. Our lineup would be as follows: RF Kelenic, 3B Guerrero Jr., C Dillard, 1B Beer, LF Frechette, CF Hendrick, 2B Hardamon, SS Nunez, P Florence. The Nationals lineup is actually stacked. We got 4 in the 7th to take an 8-6 lead that we'd hold the rest of the game.

Florence had a roung 2026 debut, going 3 innings with 6 hits, 4 runs, 4 walks, and he struck out 3. Brennan Malone made his Marlins debut, allowing 2 runs in 2.2 innings with 2 hits, 2 walks, and 3 strikeouts. Jorge Moya got the win, Hyo-jin Yaung and Ernesto Estrealla got holds while Alpha Quivers earned the save.

Isaac Nunez was 3-for-4 with 2 runs, a steal, and a double. Seth Beer was 1-for-4 with a three run homer. Garrett Grechette was 2-for-4 with a run scored, and he was 1-for-2 stealing bases. Vlad was 1-for-4 with a walk, double, run scored, and RBI. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-4 with a two run homer.

April 4th, 2026: Today we got off.

I claimed LHP Danny Niewald off waivers from the Cubs, and optioned Joseph Jarneski to AAA. Niewald, a former 13th Round pick is rated a 2.5/3.5 and gives me another lefty option to go with Quivers and Yaung out of the pen. He's got a nice fastball-slider pitch pair, and he can pitch a lot out of the pen. He's developing his plus control as well.

The Dodgers signed CL Edwin Diaz to a 1-year, $36 million contract and the Red Sox signed CL Pedro Araujo to a 1-year, $2,960,000 contract.

April 5th, 2026: The Astros lost SP Braxton Garrett for the year with a partially torn UCL. He's got an elite curveball, but was crushed in his only start of the year, allowing 7 runs in 0.2 innings off 4 hits and 4 walks.

We resumed our series with Devon Peterson making his Marlins debut against lefty Cole Ragans. The Nats got 5 in the 8th, and evened the series with a 9-4 win.

Peterson pitched well, 7 innings with 7 hits, 4 runs (3 earned), 2 walks, and 3 strikeouts. Moya was hit hard, 5 runs off 4 htis and 2 walks without getting an out.

Lewis Brinson was 2-for-4 with a two run homer in his return to the Miami lineup. Jarred Kelenic was 1-for-3 with a walk and solo homer. Deshawn Haradmon was 1-for-5 with a solo homer. Cole Roederer was 2-for-4.

April 6th, 2026: The first list of Power Rnakings has us 17th.

We looked to win the opening series with Steve Puastian taking on Kyle Molnar. We couldn't score enough, and were topped 4-1.

Puastina went 5, allowing 3 hits, 3 runs, 4 walks, and he struck out 4. Danny Niewald made his big league debut, and allowed a walk and run in 0.2 innings.

Garrett Frechette was 2-for-4 with a double and RBI. Vlad Jr. was 2-for-4 with a stolen base. Seth Beer was 2-for-4.

We're off to New York to face the Mets for three. We'd see Tyler Mahle, Robert Stephenson, and Cal Coughlin (0-0, 0.00 ERA).

April 7th, 2026: We opened the series at Citi field with Jordan Montgomery facing his former teammate Tyler Mahle. We continued our skid and dropped the opener 6-4.

Monty went 6, allowing 6 hits and 3 runs while getting 4 strikeouts. Ernesto Estrealla allowed a hit to the only batter he faced, and he scored while Yaung was pitching. Yaung allowed 3 hits and 2 runs while getting just 1 out.

Seth Beer was 2-for-4 with a double, run scored, and RBI. Isaac Nunez was 2-for-3 with a walk and run scored. Lewis Brinson had a pinch hit, 2-run single in the 8th.

April 8th, 2026: The Red Sox signed CL Zach Britton to a 2-year, $24 million contract. The Giants signed RHP Thomas Hackimer to a 1-year, $3.2 million contract.

We needed to turn things around with Mike Soroka facing Robert Stephenson in the middle game. We kept on losing and dropped this one 3-1. Nice...

Soroka pitched alright, 5.2 innings with 6 hits, 2 runs, 4 walks, and 4 strikeouts. Niewald allowed an unearned run in 1.1 innings with a walk, hit, and strikeout.

Thomas Dillard was 1-for-3 with a triple, hit by pitch, and run scored. Seth Beer was 1-for-3 with an RBI double and walk. Deshawn Hardamon and Isaac Nunez were both 1-for-3.

April 9th, 2026: We looked to avoid the sweep with Jake Florence (0-0, 12.00 ERA, 3.33 WHIP) taking on Noah Syndergaard (1-0, 1.23 ERA, 0.68 WHIP). If we lose this one... It's hard to score off Syndergaard, and we got just one run, althoug it was enough to escaped with the win.

Florence went 4.1 innings with 4 hits, 4 walks, and 3 strikeouts. Brennan Malone tossed 2.2 perfect frames, earnign the win with 5 strikeouts. Jorge Moya and Alpha Quivers both got a strikeout in perfect frames. The former got a hold, the latter a save.

The only run came from Lewis Brinson, a solo homer in the 5th inning. He was 1-for-2 after coming in during a doubel switch. Seth Beer and Isaac Nunez were both 1-for-3. The last hit was courtesy of Vladdy, who was 1-for-4.

In Anaheim, Mariners SP Sergio Barretto tossed a 4-hit shut out in a 4-0 win over the Angels.

Luckily, we get tomorrow off and we can head home after a terrible start to the year.

April 10th-April 16th

April 10th, 2026: For the second straight day, the Mariners have tossed a shutout. Mitchell White tossed a 6-hitter in a 12-0 win over the Astros.

We got the day off to head home to host the Braves for two. We'll see Lucas Sims (1-0, 1.50 ERA) and Mack Anglin in our home opener.

April 11th, 2026: Our home opener saw Devon Peterson (0-0, 3.86 ERA, 1.29 WHIP) battle Lucas Sims (1-0, 1.50 ERA, 0.83 WHIP) as we faced the team that knocked us out of the playoffs last year. We got our revenge, and shut them out 5-0.

Peterson was amazing, 7.1 shutout innings with a hit, 2 walks, and 5 strikeouts. Ignacio Hinojos struck out the side to end the game.

Austin Hendrick was a perfect 4-for-4 with 3 runs, an RBI, and two doubles. Isaac Nunez was 2-for-3 with 2 RBI's, a double, and sac bunt. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-4 with a double and run scored. Jarred Kelenic was 1-for-5 with a solo homer.

Nationals righty Kyle Molnar tossed a 5-hitter in a 15-0 win over the Cardinals.

April 12th, 2026: We looked to finish the quick sweep with Steve Paustian (0-1, 5.40 ERA, 1.40 WHIP) taking on Mack Anglin, who is making his first career big league start. The former 5th round pick does, however, have 22 relief appearences. This game had the same result as last, a 5-0 shutout.

Paustian tossed 6.1 shutout innings with 2 hits, 2 walks, and 9 strikeouts. Hyo-jin Yaung got a hold and pitched 1.2 innings with 2 strikeouts before we broke away.

Jarred Kelenic was 2-for-3 with a run scored, RBI, walk, steal, and two doubles. Austin Hendrick was 2-for-3 with 2 RBI's, a double, and steal. Isaac Nunez was 0-for-1, but he walked 3 times and scored. Cole Roederer had a pinch hit RBI double in the 8th, and he later scored.

The Mets come to town for four, and we'll see Robert Stephenson (0-0, 1.80 ERA), Noah Syndergaard (1-1, 1.10 ERA), Cal Coughlin (0-1, 5.79 ERA), and Brady Singer (1-1, 1.38 ERA).

April 13th, 2026: At 4-4, we moved up to 14th in the Power Rankings.

We opened the four game series against the Mets as Jordan Montgomery (0-1, 4.50 ERA, 1.00 WHIP) took on Robert Stephenson (0-0, 1.80 ERA, 1.00 WHIP). Monty lost to the Mets in his only start of the year. It wasn't a shut out, but we did get 5 again and won 5-2.

Montgomery went 7 innings, allowing 6 hits, 2 runs, and he struck out 7. Jorge Moya got the hold and Alpha Quivers the save. Both tossed an inning with a hit and 2 strikeouts.

Austin Hendrick, who was on the verge of being optioned after hitting far below .200 went 3-for-4 with 2 runs, 2 RBI's, and a single away from the cycle to improve to .379 on the year. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-2 with a double, 2 runs, 2 walks, 2 steals, and a RBI. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-3 with a double and sacrafice fly. Dermott MacGregor made his big league debut, going 1-for-1 with a double before leaving with a sore back.

April 14th, 2025: I claimed CF Rodolfo Medrano off waivers in an attempt to sneak him back through. He's rated a 1.5/3.5 as a CF, but is a clubhouse cancer, and Hendrick started playing well since I submitted the claim.

We looked to keep rolling with Mike Soroka (0-1, 3.18 ERA, 1.76 WHIP) taking on Noah Syndergaard (1-1, 1.10 ERA, 0.55 WHIP). Both guys have lost to the opposing team. The Mets bats woke up, and topped us 9-7.

Brennan Malone left with a sore elbow, and will head to the DL for most likely the minimum.

Soroka allowed 5 runs in 2.1 innings off 6 hits, a walk, and 2 strikeouts. Malone was charged with a run off a hit and 2 strikeouts in 0.2 innings. Hinojos allowed 3 runs off 3 hits, 3 walks, and 3 strikeouts in 2 innings.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was 3-for-5 with a double, homer, and 5 RBI's. Jarred Kelenic was 1-for-4 with 2 runs and a walk.

Michael Conforto hit his 300th homer despite his Rangers dropping to the Mariners 11-7. It's his first of the year, and in 1,385 career games he's a .256/.354/.495 hitter with 848 RBI's.

April 15th, 2026: I recalled RHP Josh Watson from AAA to make his MLB debut. At 29, he's had a long journey to the big leagues after being the 27th overall pick out of Buffalo in 2018.

We looked to re-take the series lead with Jake Florence (0-0, 4.91 ERA, 2.45 WHIP) facing Cal Coughlin (0-1, 5.79 ERA, 1.50 WHIP). We couldn't score, and the Mets edged us 3-1.

Florence pitched fine, 6 innings with 9 hits, a run, walk, and 4 strikeouts. Yaung got the loss, 2 innings with 3 hits, 2 runs, a walk, and 3 strikeotus.

Seth Beer was 1-for-3 with a solo homer and walk. Jake Florence was 1-for-2. The last hit was a pinch hit single by Jarred Kelenic in the 8th.

April 17th, 2026: We looked to salvage the split with Devon Peterson (1-0, 1.88 ERA, 0.84 WHIP) facing Brady Singer (1-1, 1.38 ERA, 0.77 WHIP). Cole Roederer got the start in left, and is a career .385 hitter against Singer. It was a close one, but we edged them 3-2 to finish the series the way we started it.

Peterson went 7.1 innings, allowing 8hits, 2 runs, 2 walks, and he struck out 5. Moya got a hold and Quivers a save.

Lewis Brinson was 1-for-2 with a triple and walk. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-3 with an RBI double off Chasen Shreve. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-4 with a double and run scored. Isaac Nunez was 2-for-3 with a double and run scored. Garrett Frechette was 2-for-4 with a run scored and RBI.

We're off to Seattle to face the Red hot Mariners. We'll see Chris Archer (0-1, 5.84 ERA), Jared Taylor (1-1, 5.40 ERA), and Juan Villasenor (2-0, 3.18 ERA).

April 17th-April 23rd

April 17th, 2026: I optioned Rodolfo Medrano to AAA after successfuly sneaking him through waivers.

We opened the series in Seattle with Steve Paustian (1-1, 2.38 ERA, 0.97 WHIP) taking on Chris Archer (0-1, 5.84 ERA, 1.05 WHIP). Jr. hits him well, 7-for-19 with a homer. It was another close game, and we edged the Marienrs 3-2.

Paustian pitched well, 6.1 innings with 3 hits, a run, 3 walks, and 2 strikeouts. Greg Walston got the win, despite blowing the save and allowing a run on 2 hits in 0.2 innings. Danny Niewald got a hold, striking out 2 in the 8th while Alpha Quivers got the save, a strikeout in the 9th.

Lewis Brinson was 2-for-3 with a walk, double, homer, and 2 RBI's. Seth Beer had a pinch hit homer in the 8th. Cole Roederer was 2-for-4 with a run scored and stolen base. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was 2-for-5.

April 18th, 2026: Game two saw Jordan Montgomery (1-1, 3.46 ERA, 0.92 WHIP) and Jared Taylor (1-1, 5.40 ERA, 1.50 WHIP) battle it out. The runs came in different ways, but we won a second consecutive game 3-2.

Monty was excellent, 7.1 innings with 3 hits, a run, walk, and 7 strikeouts. Yaung got a hold and Jorge Moya the save. Alpha Quivers allowed 2 hits including a solo homer before turning the ball over to Moya in the 9th.

Thomas Dillard was 1-for-3 with a walk and two run homer. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-2 with a walk and solo homer. Jarred Kelenic, Garrett Frechette, and Austin Hendrick were all 1-for-4.

White Sox starter Brad Hall was dealing, tossing a 2-hit shutout in a 7-0 win over the Yankees.

April 20th, 2026: We looked to sweep the best team in baseball at their home field with Mike Soroka (0-2, 7.88 ERA, 2.13 WHIP) facing Juan Villasenor (2-0, 3.18 ERA, 1.06 WHIP). Villasenor is part of what has to be the worst trade I ever made, where I sent him and James Farris to Seattle for Art Warren. It rivals the Scott Kingery trade, although at least Kingery made an impact for me. Villasenor is 51-25 with a 3.22 ERA and 1.09 WHIP in 114 starts, and he lead the league in 2023 and won the 2024 Cy Young award. The M's avoided the sweep and won the finale 6-4.

Soroka allowed 5 (2 earned...) in 4.2 innings with 7 hits, 3 walks, and a strikeout. Igancio Hinojos went 2.1 innings with 2 hits, a run, a walk, and 5 strikeouts. That's what 100 stuff will do for you...

Deshawn Hardamon was 2-for-4 with a solo homer. Seth Beer was 1-for-4 with a solo homer, hit by pitch, and 2 runs scored. Isaac Nunez was 2-for-3 with a run scored, RBI, and walk. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was 2-for-5 with a double and RBI.

We get tomorrow off, and we'll head ot San Diego.

April 20th, 2026: Ben Popkin will head to AAA to begin a rehab assignment.

The Red Sox will be without former Marlin Isaiah Musa for the year with a torn ulnar collateral ligament. He was 1-1 with a 4.05 ERA and 6 strikeouts in 6.2 innings.

At 8-7, we remained 14th in the Power Rnakings.

Looking ahead, we'll see Dallas Woolfolk (0-1, 2.77 ERA), Chris Rodriguez (2-0, 2.33 ERA), and Charles King (0-2, 6.60 ERA) in a three game set with the Friars before another off day.

April 21st, 2026: We opened the series in San Diego with Jake FLorence (0-0, 3.38 ERA, 2.10 WHIP) facing Dallas Woolfolk (0-1, 2.77 ERA, 1.08 WHIP). We didn't hit enough, and dropped the opener 3-2.

Florence went 5, allowing 10 hits, 3 runs (2 earned), a walk, and he struck out 2. The pen tossed 3 innings with a hit, walk, and 2 strike outs.

I considered optioning Garrett Frechette, but he went 2-for-4 with a pair of solo homers. Vladdy was 2-for-5 with a double and steal. Seth Beer and Thomas Dillard were both 1-for-4 with a walk.

April 22nd, 2026: We looked to right the ship with Devon Peterson (2-0, 2.08 ERA, 1.02 WHIP) taking on Chris Rodriguez (2-0, 2.33 ERA, 1.03 WHIP) in the middle game. The Padres got five in the fifth, and won again, this time 8-2.

Peterson allowed 3 hits and 4 runs in 4.1 innings with 6 walks and 6 strikeouts. Josh Watson made his debut, 1.2 innings with 2 hits, 2 runs, and 3 strikeouts. Greg Walston allowed 3 hits and 2 runs in 1.2 innings with 3 strikeouts.

Jarred Kelenic was 2-for-5 with a steal. Isaac Nunez was 2-for-4 with a run scored and double. Seth Beer and Deshawn Hardamon were both 2-for-5. The 9 spot was 3-for-4 with a run scored and sac-bunt.

Thomas Jankins tossed a 1-hit shutout in an 8-0 Brewers win over the Cardinals.

April 23rd, 2026: We looked to avoid the sweep with Steve Paustian (1-1, 2.04 ERA, 0.96 WHIP) taking on MacKenzie Gore (2-0, 3.74 ERA, 1.29 WHIP). It took 12 innings, but the Padres finished the sweep with a walk-off, 2 run homer by Mason House off Josh Watson.

Jarred Kelenic left with a hip flexor strain, and will miss about 1-2 weeks.

Paustian went 4.2 innings with 6 hits, 3 runs, 2 walks, and 2 strikeouts. Hyo-jin Yaung went 0.2 innings with a run and walk. Ernesto Estrella got 1 out and allowed a hit, run, and got a strikeout. Jorge Moya struck out the side, but allowed a hit, run, and walk. Danny Niewald got the loss, 2.1 innings with a run and walk. Watson faced just one batter, House, and allowed the homer. I'd option him to AAA after the game...

Thomas Dillard was 2-for-5 with a solo homer. Jr. was 3-for-6 with a double, run scored, and RBI. Seth Beer was 1-for-4 with 2 walks, 2 runs, and a three run homer. Garrett Frechette came off the bench and was 1-for-3 with a double.

I actually have two games off, which is a little weird, but I checked my schedule and there is a double header scheduled for August 22nd with the Phillies, and I'm moving that game to the 25th.

April 24th-April 30th

April 24th, 2026: I claimed SS Jordy Barley off waivers and placed him on the active roster. The speedy defensive stud was having a rough season with the Giants, but I have faith in his raw abilities. So much faith I'm trying him out in rightfield. To make room, I DFA'd Ken Adeniran.

We're off to Philly for three, and we'd see Josh Wolf (1-1, 6.75 ERA), Sixto Sanchez (2-0, 4.41 ERA), and Jim Gilbert (2-0, 3.32 ERA).

April 25th, 2026: Brennan Malone will begin a rehab assigment at AAA, and I recalled Marc Bjork from AAA.

We opened the series with Jordan Montgomery (2-1, 2.66 ERA, 0.79 WHIP) facing Josh Wolf (1-1, 6.75 ERA, 1.77 WHIP). Barley will make his Marlins debut in RF. We were able to bounce back after the sweep, and we topped the Phillies 5-1.

Montgomery was solid, 5.2 innings with 5 hit, a run, walk, and 5 stirkeouts. The rest of the pen combined for 3.1 innings, 3 hits, 4 walks, and 2 strikeouts. Alpha Quivers got the final out and allowed a hit, earning his 6th save of the year.

Isaac Nunez was 1-for-4 with a solo homer. Cole Roederer was 2-for-5 with 2 runs, a double, and triple. Garrett Frechette was 1-for-3 with a walk and run scored. Barley was 1-for-4 in his debut and looked fine in the outfield. He has ratings of 53-89-89, so he should learn it well. After teaching him right, I'd play him a bit at third, and then left and center.

April 26th, 2026: Red SP Zach Davies is out for the year with a torn flexor tendon. He was 0-1 with a 2.50 ERA in 4 starts to start the season.

The Giants signed Dellin Betances to a 1-year, $5.2 million contract.

We looked to win the middle game with Mike Soroka (0-3, 6.39 ERA, 2.13 WHIP) facing Sixto Sanchez (2-0, 4.41 ERA, 1.10 WHIP). We got four in the fourth and beat the Phillies 6-4 to even our record at 10-10.

Soroka went 5, allowing 8 hits, 4 runs, a walk, and he struck out 3. Danny Niewald, Hyo-jin Yaung, Ernesto Estrella, and Jorge Moya eanred holds setting up Alpha Quivers, who earned the save. They combined 4 innings with a hit, 2 walks, and 5 strikeouts.

Garrett Frechette was 2-for-4 with a homer, 2 runs, and 2 RBI's. Lewis Brinson was 1-for-4 with a base clearing double.

Nationals righty Lyon Richardson tossed a 1-hit shutout in a 10-0 win over the Rockies. At Coors field!

April 27th, 2026: Juan Ramirez heads to AAA on a rehab assignment. I also outrighted Adeniran to A+ Jupiter.

We still sit 14th in the Power Rankings.

We looked to finish the sweep with Jake Florence (0-1, 3.44 ERA, 2.13 WHIP) battling Jim Gilbert (2-0, 3.32 ERA, 1.20 WHIP). We got two in the 9th to take a 7-5 lead that Quivers would maintain.

Florence went 5.2 innings with 7 hits, 4 runs (3 earned), 4 walks, and 6 strikeouts. Greg Walston allowed 2 hits, a walk, and run in 0.1 innings. Ernesto Estrella got the win, an inning with 2 strikeouts. Quivers also had an inning with 2 strikeouts.

Deshawn Hardamon was 2-for-5 with a three run homer. Austin Hendrick was 2-for-4 with a triple, run scored, and RBI. Cole Roederer came off the bench, and got a 2-run homer and sac-bunt. Isaac Nunez was 2-for-3 with a walk and run scored.

We're headed back home to face the Pirates for three. We'll see Sean Geise (2-1, 1.27 ERA), David Peterson (1-1, 2.89 ERA), and Bobby Nicholson (0-2, 5.40 ERA). We're also in 2nd, but 5.5 games behind the Nationals.

April 28th, 2026: We opened the series against the Pirates at beautiful Marlins Park with Devon Peterson (2-1, 3.12 ERA, 1.19 WHIP) facing Sean Geise (2-1, 1.27 ERA, 1.22 WHIP). We tried to blow it, but edged the visitors 3-2.

Pereson pitched a gem, 6.1 innings with 2 hits, an unearned run, 3 walks, and 3 strikeouts. Greg Walston and Hyo-jin Yaung earned holds before Jorge Moya got the save, although Moya allowed a hit, run, and got 2 strikeouts.

Deshawn Hardamon was a perfect 3-for-3 with a walk, solo homer, and 2 runs scored. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-4 with a double. Jordy Barley was 1-for-2 with 2 RBI's, a walk, and steal. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-2 with a run scored, walk, and steal.

April 29th, 2026: Oakland will be without RHP Fremont Braunsteiner for the year with a torn flexor tendon in his elbow. The German youngster was 1-1 with a 2.76 ERA and 0.86 WHIP in 16.1 innings out of the pen.

We looked to keep rolling with Steve Paustian (1-1, 2.82 ERA, 1.12 WHIP) facing David Peterson (1-1, 2.89 ERA, 1.23 WHIP). We won by the same score, perhaps our favorite score, 3-2.

Paustian tossed a decent game, 6.1 innings with 5 hits, a run, 6 walks, and 5 strikeouts. Yaung earned his 7th hold, 1.2 innings with a run, 2 hits, and 4 strikeouts while Jorge Moya picked up his 3rd save.

Cole Reoderer was 1-for-1 with a sac-fly, walk, and 2-run homer. Jordy Barley was 2-for-3. Lewis Brinson was 2-for-3 with a run scored. Deshawn Hardamon was 2-for-4.

April 30th, 2026: Oakland will be without RHP Dillon Maples with radial nerve compression. He was 0-1 with a 3.18 ERA in 5.2 innings with an impressive 11 strikeouts.

We looked to finish April with a sweep, as Jordan Montgomery (3-1, 2.42 ERA, 0.85 WHIP) took on Bobby Nicholson (0-2, 5.40 ERA, 1.54 WHIP). It took 14 innings, but Jon Reid hit a walk off solo homer off Chad Green, as we finished a second straight sweep with a third straight 3-2 win.

Monty had an okay outing, 4 innings with 4hits, 2 runs, a walk, and 7 strikeouts. The rest of the pen tossed 10 innings with 3 hits, 2 walks, and 15 strikeouts. 7 of those came from Marc Bjork, who struck out 7 of the 9 hitters he faced in 3 perfect frames. Alpha Quivers struck out the side in the 9th, but also allowed a walk and hit. Ernesto Estrella went 3 innings with a hit and 3 strikeouts. Ignacio Hinojos went 2 innings, with a hit and 2 strikeouts, while earning the win.

Austin Hendrick was 1-for-3 with 2 runs, 3 walks, 2 steals, and a double. Thomas Dillard was 3-for-6 with a double. Jordy Barley was 2-for-6 with a double. Seth Beer was 2-for-4 with a walk and sac-fly. Deshawn Hardamon was 2-for-6.

I made a few roster changes after the game, optioning Garrett Frechette to AAA to recall Juan Ramirez from his rehab assignment. I guess the clubhouse wasn't a big fan of Frechette either.

The Rays come to town to start a home-away series. At home, we'd see Brendan McKay (2-1, 3.54 ERA) and Zach Peek (2-1, 5.40 ERA) before we head to Tampa for two more.

May 1st-May 7th

May 1st, 2026: We opened the home and away at Marlins Park as the Rays came to town. They'd send Brendan McKay (2-1, 3.54 ERA, 0.86 WHIP) to the mound against Mike Soroka (1-3, 6.62 ERA, 2.04 WHIP). Juan Ramirez is hitting 7th and playing CF in his 2026 debut. We played an overall awful game, and lost 7-1.

Soroka went 5.1 innings with 6 hits, 5 runs, and 3 strikeouts. Greg Walston allowed a run off a hit with a strikeout in 1.2 innings. Ignacio Hinojos allowed 2 hits and a run without getting an out.

Lewis Brinson was 1-for-4 with a solo homer. Dewitt McGregor was 1-for-2 with a double and walk.

May 2nd, 2026: The Rockies will be without C Sean Murphy for the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament. He was hitting .200 in 11 games.

The Rangers signed CL Jose Leclerc to a 3-year, $21 million per year contract. He has 216 career saves to go with a 3.11 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, and 797 strikeouts in 588.1 innings.

We looked to split the home two with Jake Florence (0-1, 3.75 ERA, 2.08 WHIP) taking on Zack Peek (2-1, 4.50 ERA, 1.14 WHIP). We scored 3 quick runs in the first, and won the second game 4-1.

Florence pitched well, 6.2 shutout innings with 4 hits, 3 walks, and 3 strikeouts. Hyo-jin Yaung and Ernesto Estrella got holds. Jorge Moya pitched the 9th, allowing a hit, run, and strikeout.

Thomas Dillard was 2-for-3 with a solo homer and hit by pitch. Cole Roederer was 2-for-3 with a walk and run scored.

We're off to Tampa for the final two games, and we'd see Chad Whye (1-1, 0.60 ERA) and Paul Blackburn (1-0, 6.00 ERA).

May 3rd, 2026: The road part of the Florida Series took place between Devon Peterson (3-1, 2.51 ERA, 1.11 WHIP) and Paul Blackburn (1-0, 6.00 ERA, 2.07 WHIP). We took advantage of the pitching matchup, and edged them 6-4.

Thomas Dillard was ejected aruging a call in the first inning.

Peterson went 4.2 innings with 5 hits, 3 runs, 2 walks, and 3 strikeouts. Hinojos got the win, 1.1 innings with 3 strikeouts. Yaung, Dnany Niewald, and Estrella earned holds before Alpha Quivers got the save. Quivers did, however, allow a run off a hit with a strikeout.

Austin Hendrick was 3-for-4 with a double, run scored, 2 RBI's, and solo homer. Cole Roederer was 3-for-5 with 2 runs, 2 doubles, and a solo homer. Seth Beer was 2-for-4 with 2 homers, a solo shot and two run shot. Vlad Jr. was 1-for-4 with a a double and walk. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-3 with a walk.

May 4th, 2026: RF Jarred Kelenic is headed to AAA for a quick rehab assignment. I'd most likely recall him after our next series.

The White Sox will be without RHP Jon Duplantier for the year with a torn rotator cuff. He had a 1.93 ERA in 9.1 innings with strikeouts and a 1.29 WHIP.

At 16-11, we've moved up to 8th in the Power Rankings.

We looked to win the Florida Series with Steve Paustian (2-1, 2.51 ERA, 1.26 WHIP) facing Chad Whye (1-1, 0.60 ERA, 0.47 WHIP). We won 9-7, but lost Steve Paustian, who will miss about a week with back spasms. I might have to place him on the DL.

Marc Bjork came out of the pen after Paustian walked the only batter he faced, going 2.1 innings with 5 hits, 4 runs, a walk, and 2 strikeouts. Paustian was charged with a run as well. Hinojos got the win, 2.2 innings with 5 strikeouts. Greg Walston and Ernesto Estrella got holds while Quivers got a save. Danny Niewald pitched between Walston and Estrella, allowing 2 runs in 1.1 innings with 3 hits, a walk, and strikeout.

Jr. was 3-for-5 with 3 runs, 3 RBI's, 2 doubles, and a homer. Deshawn Hardamon was 3-for-4 with a double, run scored, and RBI. Thomas Dilard was 1-for-4 with a walk, double, run scored, and RBI. Isaac Nunez was 2-for-4 with a run scored, RBI, and double.

I did place Paustian on the DL, and called up Brennan Malone from his rehab assignment in AAA. Bjork will replace Paustian in the rotation.

We head to New York to face the Mets for three. We'll see Cal Coughlin (0-3, 3.10 ERA), Noah Syndergaard (1-2, 4.22 ERA), and Robert Stephenson (0-2, 3.95 ERA).

May 5th, 2026: The Yankees will be without former Marlin Joe Jimenez for the year with a torn UCL. He's in the final year of a three year deal, and tossed just 1 inning this year.

The Mariners signed CL Jandel Gustave to a 1-year, $26.2 million contract.

We opened the series with Jordan Montgomery (3-1, 2.70 ERA, 0.90 WHIP) taking on Cal Coughlin (0-3, 3.10 ERA, 1.13 WHIP). Monty was amazing, and we on 4-0.

He went 6, allowing just 1 hit, 1 walk, and he struck out 5. Greg Walston and Jorge Moya got saves, but we didn't need save for the 9th.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was 3-for-4 with an RBI and was also 1-for-2 stealing bases. Seth Beer was 1-for-4 with a solo homer and RBI double. Thomas Dillard was 2-for-4 with a solo homer. Cole Roederer was 1-for-3 with 2 runs, a double, and walk. Austin Hendrick was 1-for-4 with a double.

May 6th, 2026: The Amateur Draft pool was revealed, and here's who OSA considers the best prospects and what my scout and their scouts consider their potentials.

1. RF Chris Peters (1.5/5): Selected by the Braves 5th Overall in 2023.
2. RHP Nate Moss (3/5)
3. LHP Amari Boards (2/4):
4. LHP Ethan Pistner (4.5/4): I think I found who I want...
5. CF Chad Ermer (2.5/3.5)
6. CF Juan Barela (2.5/4.5)
7. RHP Juan Morales (1.5/5)
8. RHP Juan Alfredo Sica (0.5/4)
9. LHP Godrell Kennevrew (0.5/4)
10. RHP Mike Courtade (2/4)

My scout doesn't love this class, but it isn't bad by any means. It's not that strong, but there are a decent amount of solid starting pitchers. Both Ricky Case (5) and Steve Fox (5) look like studs, although Fox may not end up a starter. Pistner is really good as well, and Mucip Atil (4), Joe Marin (4), and Billy Stiles (4). Really the only good hitter is CF Ian Cavett (4). The save pick is Jorge Luna (1.5/4.5), a college reliever.

In case you were wondering where my 2023 unsigned guys are:

1st Round: RHP Kevin Sturgeon (0.5/0.5) Selected by the Pirates 8th overall in 2024.
3rd Round: 1B Ben Kempf (0.5/0.5): Selected by the Brewers 28th overall in 2024.
9th Round: CF Sean Bair (0.5/0.5): Selected in the 13th Round by the A's in 2024.
13th Round: SS Danny Deliso (0.5/2)
15th Round: CF Ken Ormand (1.5/0.5): Selected by the Angels in the 23rd Round in 2024.
16th Round: CF Jeremy Page (0.5/0.5)
19th Round: SP Juan Arteaga (0.5/0.5)
25th Round: SP Juan AlyArez (0.5/0.5)
29th Round: SP Braedon Chiasson (0.5/0.5)
30th Round: CF Sean Addis (0.5/0.5)
33rd Round: C Jonathan Hall (0.5/0.5)
34th Round: CF Juan Rivera (0.5/0.5)
35th Round: CF Nate Cody (0.5/0.5)
37th Round: SP Luis Ospina (0.5/0.5)
38th Round: SP Murdoch Pardy (0.5/0.5)

Doesn't look like I really missed anything.

Back to baseball, the struggling Mike Soroka (1-4, 7.04 ERA, 1.83 WHIP) took on Noah Syndergaard (1-2, 4.22 ERA, 0.97 WHIP). Not only is Soroka 0-2 with a 7.88 ERA against the Mets this year, Gregorio Alvarenga is hitting .418 career against him, Robert Hassell .471, and Adrian Hernandez .429 with a homer. This should be a fun one... We did get 4 in the 6th, but that was it in the 6-4 loss.

Austin Hendrick left with an injury. I'd likely place him on teh DL to recall Kelenic from his rehab assignment.

Soroka went 5, allowing 5 hits, 3 runs, 3 walks, and he struck out 3. Danny Nieawrld fot the loss, 0.2 innings with a hit, run, 2 walks, and a strikeout. Hyo-jin Yaung allowed 2 hits and a run with a walk and strikeout.

Seth Beer was 1-for-4 with a three run homer. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-3 with a double and walk. Jon Reid was 1-for-3 with a triple and run scored. Vlad Jr. was 1-for-4 with a run scored and RBI.

May 7th, 2026: Tears were shed in Atlanta, where owner John Malone passed away with illness. His son, John Jr., will take over the club with a heavy heart. The Braves will honor the elder Malone the rest of the year. John Jr. is considered controlling and demanding, not a good combination.

We looked to win the series with Jake Florence (1-1, 2.93 ERA, 1.86 WHIP) facing Brady Singer (1-3, 3.18 ERA, 0.91 WHIP). Again, Adrian Hernandez has a favorable matchup, 7-for-11 against Florence. It was close, but we topped the Mets 4-2 to win the series.

Florence went 7, allowing 7 hits, 2 runs, and he struck out 7. And Hernandez was 0-for-4. Danny Niewald got the hold and Alpha Quivers the save. Both pitched perfect frames with a strikeout.

Isaac Nunez was 2-for-3 with a run scored, RBI, and walk. He was a worse 1-for-3 on steal attempts. Dewitt MacGregor was 1-for-4 with a solo homer, the first of his career. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-4 with a two run homer. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-4 with a double.

We're headed back home to face the Cardinals for three before a day off. We'll see Lenny Torres (1-2, 3.31 ERA), Joe LaBrie (1-3, 3.48 ERA), and Jon Sullivan (0-5, 6.99 ERA).

May 8th-May 14th

May 8th, 2026: His diagnosis is still pending, but I placed Austin Hendrick on the DL to recall Jarred Kelenic from his rehab assignment.

Kelenic returend to the lineup and hit 2nd and played RF. Devon Peterson (3-1, 2.92 ERA, 1.16 WHIP) took on Lenny Torres (1-2, 3.31 ERA, 0.95 WHIP) as we welcomed the Cardinals to Marlins Park. And like usual, it was sold out. It feels weird saying that. Sadly, the home fans didn't see a win, and the Cardinals improved to 9-22 with a 7-6 win. We should've won...

Peterson allowed 4 runs (3 earned) off 6 hits and 2 walks in 4 innings with 4 strikeouts. Brennan Malone allowed 2 runs in an inning with 2 hits. Ernesto Estrella got the loss, 3 innings with 2 hits, a run, and 3 strikeouts.

Isaac Nunez was 1-for-4 with a solo homer and steal. Seth Beer was 2-for-4 with a two run homer. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was 2-for-4 with a double and run scored. Jarred Kelenic was 1-for-4 with a hit by pitch, double, and RBI in his return to the lineup. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-4 with a two run homer. Cole Roederer was 1-for-4 with a steal, sac-bunt, and 2 runs scored.

Aaron Judge hit his 400th career homer in a 8-6 Yankees win over the Reds. The 34-year-old is a career .239/.354/.519 hitter with 895 career RBI's in 1,384 career games.

May 9th, 2026: We looked to even the series with Marc Bjork (0-0, 5.68 ERA, 1.11 WHIP) making his first career start agains former Marlin Joe LaBrie (1-3, 3.48 ERA, 1.10 WHIP). Bjork is a starter naturally, but has pitched out of the pen a lot for us. We tried to blow it, but we barely held on for a 6-4 win.

Bjork pitched well, 7 innings with 4 hits, 3 runs, 2 walks, and 11 strikeouts. Alpha Quivers got a hold, although he tried for the save, allowing a run off a hit and 2 walks with a strikeout. Hyo-jin Yaung got the last two outs, including a strikeout, to earn his first save of the year.

Vladdy was a perfect 3-for-3 with a two run homer, solo homer, and walk. Seth Beer was 2-for-4 with a two run homer. Juan Ramirez was 2-for-4 with 2 runs, a double, a steal, and RBI. Cole Roederer was 1-for-4 with a run scored, walk, and steal.

Rockies SS Vidal Brujan was 5-for-6 in a 17-4 win over the Cubs. I really wish I got something of value when I traded him, but Coors Field has really been kind to him.

May 10th, 2026: Austin Hendrick was diagnosed with a oblique strain, and will miss about 5-6 weeks. After his 10 day time runs out, I'm going to option him to AAA to save service time.

The Cubs will be without CL Dylan Cease for the year with bone chips in his elbow. The always injured Cease had 2 saves and a 1.04 ERA in 17.1 innings.

We looked to win the series with Jordan Montgomery (4-1, 2.24 ERA, 0.81 WHIP) taking on Jon Sullivan (0-5, 6.99 ERA, 2.05 WHIP). According to the game, we have the position advantage at all 9 lineup spots. Don't let Sullivan's stats decieve you though, the former 2nd overall pick back in 2023 is rated a 2.5/4.5 and looks like a stuf. Montgomery was great again, and we won the finale 4-1.

Monty went just 5.2 innings, with 3 hits, a run, 2 walks, and 6 strikeouts. Greg Walston and Yaung earned holds before Quivers got his 12th save of the year. All three guys struck out 2 hitters.

Juan Ramirez was 1-for-3 with a solo homer, 3 runs scored, and a walk. Cole Roederer was 1-for-2 with 2 walks, a steal, a run scored, and a double. Jr. was 2-for-3 with a double and RBI.

Tomorrow is an off day, before the Braves come to town for three.

May 11th, 2026: Garrett McDaniels will head to AAA to begin a rehab assignment. He's not on the 40-man roster, and my 40 is currently full, so he will probably be down there a while.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was named Player of the Week, as he hit .609 with 3 homers, 9 RBI's, and 7 runs. For the season, he's hitting .269 with 4 homers and 22 RBI's.

We're alos up to 5th in the Power Rankings. At 21-13, we are just 3 games out of first.

Atlanta comes to town for three. We'd see Ken Harty (1-2, 5.93 ERA), Ty Madden (1-3, 3.34 ERA), and Ian Bedell (2-0, 3.69 ERA).

May 12th, 2026: Today's game will be between players traded for each other: Mike Soroka (1-4, 7.07 ERA, 1.70 WHIP) and Ken Harty (1-2, 5.93 ERA, 1.58 WHIP). It was a shocking pitcher's duel, and we edged the visitors 2-1.

I did lose two players to injury. Jarred Kelenic will head to the DL for 3 weeks with a hamstring strain. Greg Walston will miss 5 games with a finger blister, although I think I may option him to AAA to recall Ben Popkin from his rehab assignment.

Soroka went 5, allowing 7 hits, with a run, 4 walks, and 8 strikeouts. The rest of the pen went 4 innings with a hit and 5 strikeouts. Walston got the win, the hit in 0.2 innings. Jorge Moya got a hold, 1.1 innings with 3 strikeouts. Quivers got the save, striking out the last two batters of the game.

The reinging player of the week was 1-for-3 with a solo homer. Kelenic was 1-for-2 with an RBi double before leaving with injury. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-3 with a double.

May 13th, 2026: I optioned Walston to recall Popkin, and recalled LF Matt Hogan from AAA. Hogan, a former Cub prospect, will be in line to make his debut.

The Rays will be without 2B Willi Castro for the year with a concussion. He was hitting .330 with 5 homers and 17 RBI's in 109 at bats this season.

We looked to keep winning with Jake Florence (2-1, 2.87 ERA, 1.70 WHIP) facing Ty Madden (1-3, 3.34 ERA, 1.14 WHIP). The speedy Hogan will leadoff and play LF in his major league debut. The Braves got three in the first, and ended up winning 6-3.

Florence went jsut 3, allowing 4 hits, 3 runs, 3 walks, and he struck out 2. Brennan Malone went an inning with 2 htis, 2 runs, and 3 walks. Jorge Moya allowed a run in 1.1 innings with a hit, 3 walks, and 3 strikeouts. Igancio Hinojos struck out 4 in 1.2 innings.

Matt Hogan had a great debut, 2-for-4 with a solo homer. Juan Ramirez was 2-for-3 with a solo homer, steal, and 2 runs scored. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was 1-for-3 with an RBI and walk.

May 14th, 2026: We looked to win another series with Devon Peterosn (3-1, 3.29 ERA, 1.24 WHIP) taking on Ian Bedell (2-0, 3.69 ERA, 1.23 WHIP). It was a close one, but we got 3 in the second and one more in the 6th to win the finale 4-3.

Peterson went just 4.1 innings with 7 hits, 3 runs, and 5 strikeouts. Ben Popkin got a win in his season debut, going 1.2 innings with a walk and strikeout. Hinojos and Yaung got holds and Quivers got the save. Hinojos struck out 4 and walked 1 in 1.1 innings.

Cole Roederer was 3-for-4 with a double, homer, and 4 RBI's. He needed just a triple for the cycle. Dermott MacGregor was 1-for-2 with 2 runs, 2 walks, and a double. Vlad Jr. was 2-for-3 and was hit by a pitch.

Fun fact about the division: generally an over powering division, just the Nationals (25-12) and us (23-14) are over .500. Atlanta (16-18), Philly (16-20), and the Mets (13-23) are all struggling this year. The NL as a whole isn't that good, with the Brewers (21-17), Pirates (20-18), Dodgers (23-15), Padres (22-17), and D'Backs (22-17) the only teams over .500.

Andrew Benintendi was 5-for-5 in a 21-4 Red Sox domination of the Rays.

Houston comes to town for three, and we'll see Marcos Molina (2-4, 6.08 ERA), Luke Weaver (1-2, 4.05 ERA), and Yeremi Ceballos (3-1, 1.91 WHIP).May 8th, 2026: His diagnosis is still pending, but I placed Austin Hendrick on the DL to recall Jarred Kelenic from his rehab assignment.

Kelenic returend to the lineup and hit 2nd and played RF. Devon Peterson (3-1, 2.92 ERA, 1.16 WHIP) took on Lenny Torres (1-2, 3.31 ERA, 0.95 WHIP) as we welcomed the Cardinals to Marlins Park. Jarred Kelenic was 1-for-4 with a hit by pitch, double, and RBI in his return to the lineup. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-4 with a two run homer.

Houston comes to town for three, and we'll see Marcos Molina (2-4, 6.08 ERA), Luke Weaver (1-2, 4.05 ERA), and Yeremi Ceballos (3-1, 1.91 WHIP).

May 15th-May 21st

May 15th, 2026: Lazaro Armenteros is headed to AAA for a rehab assignment, and I activated SP Steve Paustian from the DL. I optioned Marc Bjork to AAA to make room.

We opened the series hosting the Astros in a packed Marlins stadium with Jordan Montgomery (5-1, 2.16 ERA, 0.82 WHIP) taking on Marcos Molina (2-4, 6.08 ERA, 1.57 WHIP). We got three in the second and won the opener 5-2.

Thomas Dillard left with an injury... He had an RBI triple in his only at bat.

Monty went 5.2 with 4 hits, 2 runs, 4 walks, and 5 strikeouts. Danny Niewald and Ernesto Estrella earned holds before Alpha Quivers recorded the save.

Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-3 with a walk and two run homer. Dewitt MacGregor was 1-for-3 with 2 runs scored and a double. Vlad Jr. was 2-for-4. Cole Roederer was 1-for-4 with a run scored.

May 16th, 2026: Steve Paustian (2-1, 2.83 ERA, 1.29 WHIP) made his return to the rotation against Luke Weaver (1-2, 4.05 ERA, 1.29 WHIP). It wasn't pretty, and we dropped the middle game 8-1.

Cole Roederer lost with an injury... Yay... He was 1-for-3 with a double, walk, and RBI before leaving.

Paustian struggled, 3 innings with 6 hits, 5 runs, 3 walks, and 3 strikeouts. Ben Popkin allowed 2 unearned runs with a hit, walk, and strikeout in 2 innings. Brennan Malone went 2 innings with 2 hits, a run, and 2 strikeouts. Hyo-jin Yaung struck out the side, but walked 2, in the 9th.

Deshawn Hardamon was 2-for-4 with a double and triple. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-4 with a double and run scored. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-3 with a run scored.

May 17th, 2026: Roederer is off to the DL with a strained hip flexor, and he'll miss 2 weeks. I recalled Lazaro Armenteros from his rehab assignment.

The Nationals lost CL Colten Panaranto for the year with a torn rotator cuff. He was 1-0 with a 1.50 ERA and 12 saves.

The Angels will be without SP Chris Willaman for the year with a torn ulnar collatreal ligament. He was 2-3 with a 8.04 ERA with 18 strikeouts in 28 innings.

We looked to win the series with Mike Soroka (1-4, 6.27 ERA, 1.85 WHIP) taking on Yeremi Ceballos (3-1, 1.91 ERA, 1.09 WHIP). They got 6 in the 8th and we dropped the finale 8-3...

Soroka went 7, allowing 5 hits, 2 runs (1 earned), and he struck out 7. Yaung didn't get an out, walked 2, allowed a hit, and three runs scored. Jorge Moya went 0.2 innings with 3 hits, 3 runs, a walk, and a strikeout. LF Matt Hogan made his pitching debut, tossing 1.1 innings with a hit and 2 strikeouts. He is a partial two-way player.

Lewis Brinson was 2-for-4 with a solo homer. Lazaro Armenteros was 1-for-4 with a double and 2 RBI's. Isaac Nunez was 2-for-4 with a run scored. Juan Ramirez was 2-for-4 with a run scored.

Supposedly Dermott MacGregor called out Desahawn Hardamon for his lack of effort. I'm hoping this doesn't become a problem...

We'll head to LA for four with the Dodgers. They'd send Robinson Ortiz (1-2, 6.30 ERA), Rafael Montero (0-0, 2.30 ERA), Mike Clevinger (3-1, 3.95 ERA), and former Marlin Walker Buehler (3-3, 3.64 ERA).

May 18th, 2026: We dropped to 6th in the Power Rankings. At 24-16, we are tied for the top Wild Card.

We opened the series with Jake Florence (2-2, 3.32 ERA, 1.75 WHIP) taking on Robinson Ortiz (1-2, 6.30 ERA, 1.67 WHIP). Florence was great, and we won the opener 6-1.

Florence went 7.1 innings with 4 hits, 2 walks, and 6 strikeouts. Ben Popkin went 1.2 innings with 3 hits, a run, walk, and 2 strikeouts.

Juan Ramirez went 1-for-3 with a three run homer, walk, and 2 runs scored. Dewitt MacGregor was 2-for-3 with a hit by pitch and run scored. Florence was 1-for-4 with a run scored, 2 RBI's, and a double. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was 1-for-4 with a double and hit by pitch. Lewis Brinson was 1-for-3 with a walk, double, and run scored.

So with the Hardamon situation, I have three options. Suspend him for 5 games, do nothing, or release him. Releasing is not even an option, he's a 3.5/4.5 stud second basemen who's almost 24. I really don't want to suspend him, but he did shove MacGregor to the ground. I had to do the suspension and hope for the best.

May 19th, 2026: Game two saw Devon Peterson (3-1, 3.57 ERA, 1.28 WHIP) take on Rafael Montero (0-0, 2.30 ERA, 1.02 WHIP) who's making his first start after 17 relief appearences. Both teams scored a run in the 3rd, but there was no more scoring in regulation. In the 10th, MacGregor hit a solo homer, but in the bottom hald, Zion Aldaba hit a walk-off two run homer off Quivers.

Peterson was great, 7 innings with 3 hits, a run, 3 walks, and 6 strike outs. Quivers got the loss, 1.2 innings with a hit, 2 runs, a walk, and 2 strike outs.

MacGregor was 2-for-4 with a solo homer and 2 runs scored. Seth Beer was 1-for-3 with a walk.

May 20th, 2026: Dillard has a back strain, and will head to the DL for the minimum. I needed to place him on the DL since MacGregor was tired. I called up Jake Taylor.

Game three of four saw Jordan Montgomery (6-1, 2.28 ERA, 0.89 WHIP) take on "former Marlin" Mike Clevinger (3-1, 3.95 ERA, 1.32 WHIP). Both teams scored 3 in the fourth and 1 in the 8th, but they got the first run in the 1st.

Monty struggled, 3.1 innings with 7 hits, 4 runs, a walk, and 2 strike outs. Yaung got the loss, an inning with a hit, run, and 2 strike outs.

Vlad Jr. was 1-for-3 with a walk, 2 RBI's, a sac-fly and a steal. Lazaro Armenteros was 1-for-2 with a walk, run, and steal. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-4 with a steal and walk. Matt Hogan was 1-for-3 with 2 walks.

Rockies 3B Sahid Valenzuela was 5-for-6 in an 8-6 loss to the Reds.

May 21st, 2026: We needed the win to split the series, and Steve Paustian (2-2, 3.98 ERA, 1.45 WHIP) faced his former teammate Walker Buehler (3-3, 3.64 ERA, 0.96 WHIP). Of course, we couldn't, and dropped the finale 3-1.

Paustian allowed 3 in 5 off 6 hits, a walk, and he struck out 7. Jorge Moya struck out the side in the 9th.

Vladdy was 2-for-3 with a walk, double, and solo homer. Matt Hogan was 1-for-4 with a double. Jordy Barley was 1-for-3.

We got tomorrow off, and the All-Star fan vote will begin. Although, we are now the 2nd Wild Card and have just a 1 game lead over the Padres. We are also 4.5 games out of first.

May 22nd-May 28th

May 22nd, 2026: All-Star Voting begins today!

We're off to Oakland for a quck two game set. We'll see Nivaldo Pool (0-0, 6.10 ERA) and Jared Southard (4-2, 3.04 ERA).

May 23rd, 2026: The Tigers will be without RHP Jaden Hill for the year with a torn labrum. He tossed 32.1 innings with a 5.85 ERA and 42 strike outs.

We opened the A's series with Mike Soroka (1-4, 5.40 ERA, 1.65 WHIP) facing Nivaldo Pool (0-0, 6.10 ERA, 1.65 WHIP). Up 3-1 in the 9th, Nasim Nunez (who's ratins are very similar to Isaac Nunez) hit a two run homer of Alpha Quivers to tie up the game. In the 13th, Isaac Nunez hit an RBI double in a 2 run 13th to win the opener 5-3.

Soroka pitched fine, 5.2 innings with 7 hits, a run, walk, and 2 strike outs. Igancio Hinojos got a hold, 2.1 innings with a hit, walk, and 3 strike outs. Quivers blew the save, 2 runs off 3 hits with a walk and 2 strikeouts in the 9th. Jorge Moya got the win, 2.1 perfect innings with 2 strike outs.

Jordy Barley was 3-for-5 with a walk, steal, and two run homer. Nunez was 2-for-6 with a run scored, 2 RBI's, and the double in the 13th. Jake Taylor was 2-for-5 with a double, run scored, and RBI. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-4 with a run scored and 2 walks.

May 24th, 2026: The Reds will be without RHP Brenan Hanifee for the year with shoulder inflammation. He was 2-0 with a 4.76 ERA at struck out 29 in 28.1 innings.

Another season ending injury saw Brewers starter Luis Aguilar go down with the same injury. He was 0-3 with a 5.04 ERA in 6 starts.

We looked to sweep the quick two game set with Jake Florence (3-2, 2.81 ERA, 1.60 WHIP) taking on Jared Southard (4-2, 3.04 ERA, 1.29 WHIP). We got four in the fifth to win the finale 8-4.

Florence had another weird start, 4.2 innings with 5 hits, just 1 run, but 5 walks and only 3 strikeouts. Ben Popkin got the win, 1.2 innings with a hit, run, 3 walks, and 3 strikeouts. Brennan Malone allowed 5 hits and 2 runs in 1.1 innings with a strikeout. Hyo-jin Yaung got the save, 1.1 innings with a hit and 3 strike outs.

Lewis Brinson was 2-for-5 with 2 runs, 2 RBI's, and a homer. Seth Beer was 2-for-3 with a solo homer, 3 runs, 2 walks, and a steal. Lazaro Armenteros was 2-for-4 with a run scored, walk, RBI, and two steals. Juan Ramirez was 2-for-5 with a double. Matt Hogan was 1-for-3 with a walk, run scored, RBI, hit by pitch, and double. Jake Taylor was 1-for-3 with a double and hit by pitch.

We get tomorrow off before heading home for another interleague series, this time with the Angels.

May 25th, 2026: Mariners SP Mitchell White is out for the rest of the year with a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament. He was a perfect 5-0 with a 2.97 ERA and struck out 41 hitters in 57.2 innings.

At 27-19, we dropped a spot to 8th in the Power Rankings.

We headed back home to prepare for a three game set with the Angels. We'd see Josh Staumon (2-0, 3.70 ERA), Peter Solomon (3-3, 6.15 ERA), and JoJo Romero (2-6, 5.98 ERA).

May 26th, 2026: White Sox owner Jerry Reinsdorf passed away, and left the team with his son, Jerry Jr. The younger Jerry has had a lot of control over the team recently, so it should be a smooth transition.

I optioned Jake Taylor to AAA and activated Thomas Dillard from the DL.

Dillard returned to the lineup as we hosted the Angels. Devon Peterson (3-1, 3.27 ERA, 1.22 WHIP), who faced the Angels a lot as a Ranger, took on Josh Staumont (2-0, 3.70 ERA, 1.03 WHIP) to start the series. We had a big eight run 6th to win the opener 9-4.

Peterson pitched well, 6 innings with 6 hits, 3 runs, 3 walks, and 6 strikeouts. Ben Popkin allowed a hit, run, and 2 walks with a strikeout in the 7th.

Deshawn Hardamon was 2-for-4 with a two run homer as his suspension has finished. Matt Hogan and a pinch hit, 2-run triple in the 6th. Vladdy was 1-for-3 with a pair of walks, a steal, and run scored. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-3 with a walk, run scored, and steal. Seth Beer was 1-for-4 with a double, walk, and RBI. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-4 with a run, walk, and 2 RBI's in his return from the DL.

May 27th, 2026: I traded LHP Garrett McDaniels to the Angels for CF Jhon Solarte, and then DFA'd Matt Hogan.

Solarte, 25, is a speedy defensive superstar who helps with the outfield situation. I tried claiming the young switch hitter off waivers earlier in the season, but the Angels had a better priority. This year he's hit well too, .275/.338/.304 with 5 RBI's and 3 steals with the Angels and Red Sox.

Game two of the three game set saw Jordan Montgomery (6-1, 2.84 ERA, 0.99 WHIP) taking on Peter Solomon (3-3, 6.15 ERA, 1.71 WHIP). Solarte hit 8th and played CF in his Marlins debut. It was a great pitching matchup, and we edged the Angels 2-1.

Seth Beer left after getting hit by a pitch. Uh oh...

Monty pitched amazing, but got a no decision, tossing 6 innings with 2 hits, a run, 2 walks, and 9 strikeouts. Jorge Moya got the win, striking out two in a perfect 7th. Yaung struck out all three batters he faced in the 8th and got a hold. Quivers got 2 strikeotus in a perfect 9th to earn his 16th save.

Lazaro Armenteros was 2-for-3 with a two run homer. Vlad Jr. was 1-for-2 with a double, walk, steal, and hit by pitch. Solarte was 1-for-3 in his debut for us.

Nationals CF Trejyn Fletcher was 5-for-5 in an 8-6 win over the Padres. The young stud is hitting an impressive .358/.434/.642 with 10 homers, 25 RBI's, and 7 steals.

May 28th, 2026: Seth Beer is diagnosed with an elbow contusion, so I placed him on the DL and activated Cole Roederer. I'm going to try Roederer at first for now. He's actually got a third basemens arm, but no other good infield ratings.

The first set of All-Star votes were published. Thomas Dillard ranks 2nd for catchers. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. ranks 3rd for 3B.

We looked to finish the sweep with Steve Paustian (2-3, 4.17 ERA, 1.45 WHIP) facing JoJo Romero (2-6, 5.98 ERA, 1.48 WHIP). Down 3-2 in the 7th, we got three to win the finale 5-3.

Paustian went 7, allowing 5 hits, 3 runs, a walk, and he struck out 7. Yaung, Ernesto Estrella, and Moya earned holds, each getting an out in the 8th. Alhpa Quivers tossed a perfect 9th for his 17th save.

Vladdy was 2-for-4 with a triple, run scored, and 2 RBI's. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-2 wiht a run scored, RBI, sac-fly, steal, and hit by pitch. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-4 with a steal, run scored, and RBI. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-4 with a double. Jhon Solarte was 1-for-3 with a run scored, walk, and steal. Cole Roederer was 2-for-3 with a run scored and triple in his return to the lineup.

The Padres C Edilberto Mendoza was a perfect 5-for-5 in a 12-4 win over the Nationals. That win helps me cut the Nats lead to just 1 game.

The Phillies come to town for three, as we look to continue our nice 5 game win streak. We'll see Josh Wolf (4-4, 5.29 ERA), Sixto Sanchez (2-3, 5.29 ERA), and Steve Fettig (5-1, 2.52 ERA).

May 29th-June 4th

May 20th, 2026: RF Jared Kelenic will head to A+ Jupiter to begin another rehab assignment.

We opened a series hosting the Phillies with Mike Soroka (1-4, 4.93 ERA, 1.62 WHIP) facing Sixto Sanchez (2-3, 5.39 ERA, 1.20 WHIP). The Phillies got 4 in the 7th to take a 5-4 lead, but former Philllie Isaac Nunez hit a 2-run shot off Andrew Cabezas and we held on for a 6-5 win.1

Soroka was okay, 6 innings with 6 hits, 4 runs, 2 walks, and 4 strikeouts. Ignacio Nunez went an inning with 2 hits, a run, and 2 strike outs. Ben Popkin got the win, 0.2 innings with a strikeout. Alhpa Quivers struck ou the side in the 9th to get his 18th save.

Nunez was just 1-for-4 with the big two run homer. Jhon Solarte was 1-for-4 with a three run homer. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-4 with an RBI double in the first. Cole Roederer was 1-for-3 with a run scored and walk. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-2 with 2 runs and 2 walks.

Former Marlin prospect RF Monte Harrison hit three homers in a 7-5 Brewers win over the Mets. Arizona C Raymond Torres was 5-for-5 in a 11-4 win over the Pirates.

May 30th, 2026: I outrighted LF Matt HOgan to AAA.

Game two saw Jake Florence (3-2, 2.73 ERA, 1.63 WHIP) take on a tired Steve Fettig (5-1, 2.52 ERA, 0.91 WHIP). We needed to take advantage of him only being on three days rest instead of four. It took 10 innings before Deshawn Hardamon hit a walk-off single off Andrew Chafin.

Florence went 5, allowing 7 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks and he struck out 4. Hinojos got a hold, striking out 2 in the 6th. Jorge Moya blew the save, 1.1 innings with 2 hits, a run, 2 walks, and 2 strikeouts. Ernesto Estrella got the win, pitching the 10th and getting a strikeout. Danny Niewald struck out both hitters he faced to finish the 9th. The waiver claim has a 1.99 ERA and 1.06 WHIP in 22 innings this year.

Hardamon, the hero, was 2-for-4 with a walk and solo homer. Jhon Solarte was 2-for-3 with a run scored and hit by pitch. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was 1-for-4 with a walk and double.

I'm also going to try Kelenic, who's rehabbing, at first base to fill in when he's back for Beer if needed.

May 31st, 2026: Arizona will be without CF Enrique Bradfield for the rest of the year with a ruptured achilles tendon. The former 12th Overall Pick was hitting .325 with 2 homers and 12 RBI's in 80 at bats.

We looked to finish May with a sweep, as Devon Peterson (4-1, 3.39 ERA, 1.25 WHIP) took on Aaron Nola (1-3, 4.44 ERA, 1.36 WHIP). Despite an 8 run fifth, we lost the finale 13-11...

Peterson had a rough outing, 3 innings with 8 hits, 5 runs, a walk, and 3 strikeouts. Brennan Malone also had a tough outing, 2 innings with 5 hits, 4 runs, a walk, and 3 strikeouts. He's really struggled this year, and I wish I could option, but the 3.5/4.5 25-year-old has too much talent to take him off the roster and risk losing him to waivers. Hinojos was also charged with 2 runs off 2 hits and he got a strikeout. Yaung got the loss, 2 runs and 3 hits with 2 walks in 0.1 innings.

Vladdy was a perfect 4-for-4 with 3 runs, 4 RBI's, a walk, and a pair of homers. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-4 with a walk and three run homer. Cole Roederer was 2-for-5 with a double and 2 runs. Deshawn Hardamon was 2-for-5 with a run scored and RBI.

Phillies CF Ernesto Arambula hit for the cycle as well. The former Marlin was part of the Mickey Moniak trade back in 2023.

We'd stay homer as Arizona comes to town for four. We'd see most of the rotation, Steven Gingery (7-1, 3.00 ERA), Jean-Christophe Hernandez (4-0, 2.68 ERA), Zach Liginfelter (0-5, 6.13 ERA), and Jhoan Duran (1-6, 6.93 ERA).

June 1st, 2026: We start June ranked 5th in the Power Rankings. At 32-20, we finished May 18-10.

We opened the four game series with Jordan Montgomery (6-1, 2.70 ERA, 0.95 WHIP) taking on Steven Gingery (7-1, 3.00 ERA, 1.19 WHIP). The pitching was brilliant, and we shut the D'Backs out 4-0 to start the series.

Monty went 5, allowing 3 hits, 2 walks, and he struck out jsut 1. Ben Popkin, Ernesto Estrella, Ignacio Hinojos, and Brennan Malone got holds. The pen combined for 4 innings with 3 hits, a walk, and 6 strikeouts.

Junior was 3-for-4 with a double, steal, and RBI. Isaac Nunez was 2-for-5 with a run scored and steal. Jordy Barley hit a pinch hit solo shot in the 9th. Deshawn Hardamon was 2-for-5 with 2 runs scored. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-4 with a double.

June 2nd, 2026: I didn't need to free a 40-man spot, but I DFA'd Luis Delgado.

We looked to take game two as well, with Steve Paustian (3-3, 4.12 ERA, 1.35 WHIP) taking on Jean-Christophe Hernandez (4-0, 2.68 ERA, 1.01 WHIP). Who Lazaro Armenteros loves to hit against. He's 7-for-11 with 4 homers in his career against the Canadian righty. The D'Backs got 5 in the 5th and got the win 7-4.

Paustian had a rough outing, 6 hits and 6 runs in 4 innings with 4 walks and 6 strikeouts. Popkin allowed 3 hits and a run in the 6th. Seven other pitchers pitched the last 4 innings with 2 hits, 2 walks, and 6 strikeouts. Quivers struck out the side in the 9th.

Juan Ramirez was 3-for-4 with a run scored and RBI while being a homer away from the cycle. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was 1-for-4 with a double, run scored, and 2 RBI's. Cole Roederer was 2-for-4 with 2 runs, a walk, and steal. It's gonna be hard optioning him when Kelenic gets back...

July 3rd, 2026: Just a half game out, we could take the division lead with Mike Soroka (1-4, 5.05 ERA, 1.59 WHIP) facing Zach Linginfelter (0-5, 6.13 ERA, 1.44 WHIP). It took 11 innings, but Iestyn Spreckley hit a solo homer off Estrella as they won game three 5-4.

Soroka went 7, allowing 7 hits, 4 runs, 4 walks, and striking out 3. Estrella went 2 with 3 innings, a run, walk, and 3 strikeouts while getting the loss.

Vladdy was 2-for-5 with a walk and two run homer. Dewitt MacGregor was 3-for-5 with a run scored. Cole Roederer was 2-for-4 with a walk, run scored, hit by pitch, and RBI. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-5 with a solo shot. Isaac Nunez was 2-for-3 with two walks.

June 4th, 2026: Fan vote update: Dillard 2nd, Vlad 3rd, and Quivers 5th.

The Indians lost 29-year-old rookie Jake Wong for the year with a stretched elbow ligament. He was 3-1 with a 5.13 ERA in 31.1 innings and he struck out 30.

We needed to work the split with Jake Florence (3-2, 2.81 ERA, 1.65 WHIP) facing Jhoan Duran (1-6, 6.93 ERA, 1.52 WHIP). We got four in the 8th to tie the game, but Michael Brooks hit a go-ahead solo homer in the 9th as the D'Backs, who we can never beat, won 7-6.

To be fair, they are 33-26 this year. But still...

Florence went 5.1, allowing 7 hits, 5 runs (4 earned), 2 walks, and he struck out 5. Brennan Malone allwoed a hit to the only batter who he faced, and he eventually scored. Quivers got the loss, 3 hits and a run in the 9th.

Lazaro Armenteros was 2-for-4 with a double, homer, 2 runs, and 3 RBI's. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-4 with a double. Cole Roederer was 2-for-5 with 2 runs scored.

After the game, I DFA'd Lewis Brinson to recall Jarred Kelenic from his rehab assignment. Roederer was doing too good to option, and Brinson has really struggled.

Up next, the Amateur Draft!

Amateur Draft

Happy Amateur Draft day! I'm looking to select the newest talent to enter the Marlins organization. I've had some bad classes, and some less bad classses, but generally, the good players I take end up getting traded. Either way, there is always a chance I can strike gold.

With the first pick of the 2026 draft, the St. Louis Cardinals select: CF Juan "Splits" Barela, who my scout only rates 2.5 potential compared to OSA's 4.5.

1st Round, 22nd Overall: SP Joe Martin (4): It was a tough choice between him and Steve Fox (5), but my scout sees Martin as a guaranteed starter and Fox just boarderline. Martin, an 18-year-old from Palo Alto, CA out of Washington HS in Fremont, CA was 9-0 in 13 starts with a 0.30 ERA and 0.64 WHIP as a sernior. He struck out 173 hitters in 91 innings with help of his 100 rated stuff. His best pitch is a devestating slider that also ranks a 100. He doesn't get the best movement, but with his sidearm arm slot and the ability to hit 93-95 with his sinker, he gets a ton of ground balls. He has a passable change up as well, but to become a true ace, he needs to refine it.

1st Round, 29th Overall: RP Jorge Luna (1.5/4.5): I really don't like taking relievers this early, but there isn't much talent and Luna is an absolute stud. The junior out of North Carolina Central, he looks like a big league reliever already. He's got a plus-plus fastball that hits tripe digit and a elite slider that he has excellent command of. He's also a sidearmer, and he can pitch a lot of innings out of the pen while fielding his position well. I could bring him straight to the majors, but I think with a little, although not too much, minor league seasoning, he'll become a feared back of then pen righty.

1st Round, 34th Overall: CF Curt Walsh (3): Here is where the talent diminishes. Walsh is still a solid guy, but maybe for a 3rd or 4th round pick. He's got great speed and range, and a decent left handed bat, but he's nothing special. He's god plus contact, power, and discipline, but he strikes out a lot and doesn't hit many extra base hits. He's got big league potential, but he's a average starter at best.

2nd Round, 62nd Overall: SP Shawn Perryman (3): Says he won't sign, but he's one of the few actual good players out there. He's got plus-plus stuff with a solid arsenal. The durable lefty can pitch deep into games, has a knee-buckling curvebal, solid four seam fastball, and quality knuckle curve. He doesn't throw too fast right now, but with age he can increase his velocity. He doesn't have the best movement, but makes up for it with plus control.

3rd Round, 98th Overall: SP Jon Clark (2.5): He's a back of the rotation starter at best, but he's got talent. He induces a lot of ground balls, hits 93-95 with his plus fastball and has a plus slider with plus movement. His change up is average, but it could use work. And while he does have the ability to throw a lot of pitches, he has poor control. If he can master that, he could be a nice pick.

4th Round, 129th Overall: 2B Bobby Bentivenga (2.5): He'll never be much of a defender, but he hits the ball far, and had relative high consistency. He's got plus-plus power and doesn't strike out too much. He doesn't have the best eye, but makes enough contact to make up for it. He isn't very fast either, but he could eventually transition into a solid first basemen.

5th Round, 159th Overall: CF Sam Pell (2.5): He's got decent verastility, and has experience at third, short, left, center, and right. He's a solid outfield defender, and could be a good defender in all three spots. He's got decent foot speed, but won't steal too much. He also has a very well-rounded bat, average at contact and avoiding K's, but plus at power, gap, and eye. I see him as a productive bench player, especially since he can hit from both sides of the plate.

6th Round, 189th Overall: RF Dave Naulty (3): He says he won't sign, but is the second option if Perryman doesn't sign. "Snake Eyes" is a lefty was blinding speed that doesn't translate to defensive success. He's never going to give you much with his glove, but has elite contact abilities, and a really good bat. He's got potentials of 90/78/60/63/64, and if he doesn't sign with me, he could be a top pick when he finishes whatever college he may want to do.

7th Round, 219th Overall: CF Kelyn Trejo (2.5): The rating may be a bit generous, but he's definitely worth a pick. He's got great speed and great range that will allow him to stick in center. He's got plus power, but swings and misses a lot. His good discipline keeps him from striking out too much, but right now, I just see 4th outfielder.

8th Round, 249th Overall: SP Nate Walters (2): He wants to go to college, but he's worth the gamble. He's a durable righty that can go deep into games. He's got an elite cuveball and plus stuff as a whole. He hits around 92-94 with his a plus fastball and goes about 6-8 MPH lower with a plus change up. He's got control probelms he could work out in college.

9th Round, 279th Overall: CL Dan Tipton (2.5): Can you say average reliever? The senior from Rio Hondo college is already near fully developed, a classic low ceiling/high floor college stopper. He doesn't have the best stuff for a reliever, and only throws around 89-91, but he has pinpoint control.

10th Round, 309th Overall: SP Skyler Fitzpatrick (1.5): This is the best starter available... He's a durable righty who can go deep into games, but he's overall uninspiring. He's got a decent fastball that sits in the 88-90 range, and he has alright control, but he lacks movement on his sinker and change up. He's got a long way to go, but his career arc is up to him.

11th Round, 339th Overall: SS Gilberto Castro (2): He's a superior defender who can play all over the infield, and possibly the corner outfield as well. He's got an elite arm, is slick turning double plays, and is a great baserunner, but lacks speed and a bat. He's got a good eye and decent pop, but doesn't make much contact. He's calm under pressure, but looks like a future utility infielder.

12th Round, 369th Overall: RP Rocky Shoemaker (2.5): He's got a future as a lefty specialist, and it's nearly impossible to steal off him. He keeps the ball on the ground with help from his plus-plus change up. He's very average with his stuff, movement, and control, but he's a reliable pen arm.

13th Round, 399th Overall: RF Junior Ritcher (2): Won't sign. Think Adam Dunn, before he got out of shape. He's fast, hits dingers, and has a keen eye, but man, he's going to strike out all the time! College should suit him.

14th Round, 429th Overall: 2B Kennan Muttart (2): Won't sign. The Canadian lefty has a great eye, great pop, but just can't make contact. He strikes out a lot, and isn't really much of a fielder. He doesn't make a lot of errors, and has passable range, but doesn't have an arm. He's slow on his feet, but a smart runner.

15th Round, 459th Overall: CF Juan Escudero (2): Won't sign. He's got the range for center, and will be a great defender at all three outfield spots. He's got a solid all around bat, although my scout doesn't like his contact. I think the Florida native will get better in college.

16th Round, 489th Overall: CF Jonathan Walters (2): The lefty has great speed, great range, and a solid bat. Again, he may have contact problems, but his defense and mentality will take him far. I think with a little luck, he could surprise the doubters.

17th Round, 519th Overall: C Chris Billing (1.5): He's not the best defender behind the plate, but he's got a pretty good at. He will strike out a lot, but has great pop and nice contact. He could sneak into the majors as a backup catcher.

18th Round, 549th Overall: CF Juan Montoya (2): Won't sign. The Florida native is a decent outfielder and can stick in center. He's not the best hitter out there, but he's got decent tools.

19th Round, 579th Overall: SS Steve Cooper (1.5): He's a decent infielder, but is hurt by his arm strength. He's got a great eye and will get a lot of extra base hits, but strikeouts, and contact as a whole, is a problem for him.

20th Round, 609th Overall: C Joel Swanson (1.5): Undrafted out of high school, he showed enough at Loyola to get my 20th Round selection. He's a solid defender with enough of a bat that he's an interesting prospect. He just lacks the hustle needed.

21st Round, 639th Overall: CF Charile MacPherson (1.5): He's got great speed and excellent range, but needs to stay focused. He's got a decent bat too, and could continue to improve and reach a big league roster. The switch hitter has a great eye, and it's his best offensive quality.

22nd Round, 669th Overall: CF Dan Hitz (1.5): Won't sign. He's one of those dime a dozen outfielders in nearly every draft that's good at defense and at least partly fast. He's got an okay bat, but nothing really special.

23rd Round, 699th Overall: SP Sergio Arellano (1): Honestly, he's not that bad. He's a durable righty that can go deep into games. He's got four pitches, and while none of them are spectactular, they aren't terrible. He needs to work on his movement and control, but he's an interesting depth arm for the rotation.

24th Round, 729th Overall: SP Sam Hampton (1): I think he ends up a reliever, but he's definitely an interesting arm. He's got a 94 rated curveball and plus-plus stuff in his three pitch arsenal. The lefty could be an interesting option out of a pen, or a starter in organizations that don't mind low stamina.

25th Round, 759th Overall: SP Juan AlyArez (0.5/0.5): He's not good, but I took him in the 25th round in 2023, so why not take him again? He's got great stamina, but will likely end up a middle reliever. He's got a solid personality, and could surprise.

26th Round, 789th Overall: CF Dan Killingsworth (1.5): He's an all or nothing hitter that will hit a ton of bombs, but strike out twice as much. He's likely more suited for right, but could stay in center. He's got good foot speed as well, and a solid eye.

27th Round, 819th Overall: C Murdoch Levick (1): Won't sign. He's a great pitch framer, but has an awful arm. He's got a decent bat as well, and heading to the states for college could help the young Canadian.

28th Round, 849th Overall: SS Mike Ferguson (1): I actually really like him. He can play literally every position on the field, and will be above-average to better at all of them. He's got a solid bat and I see a good future for him in the majors.

29th Round, 879th Overall: CF Chris Morris (0.5): We're at the tools picks... He was selected back in 2022 in the 18th round by the Tigers, but hasn't really inspired much in most scouts. He does have amazing speed and range, but isn't much of a hitter.

30th Round, 909th Overall: SP Brad Smullen (0.5): He's got pinpoint control and can throw a lot of pitches. He throws four slow pitches as a lefty sidearmer, but really isn't that special.

31st Round, 939th Overall: SS Ethan McKinney (0.5): Won't sign. He can play all over the dimaond and has decent footspeed. I don't think he's ever taken batting practice, but he could start in college.

32nd Round, 969th Overall: SP Jake Miller (0.5): Won't sign. He likely ends up a reliever. He's got four alright pitches, but not much stamina. He's a tall righty, so he can improve his veolcity.

33rd Round, 999th Overall: C Daniel R. Suber (0.5): He won't sign. He's not good, but he's got the R in his name, so that's pretty cool. And it's never a bad idea to draft a catcher.

34th Round, 1,029th Overall: SP Mike Evans (0.5): He throws a screwball! It's a solid pitch, and one of the four he throws. He's a depth arm for the rotation, but the lefty could turn some heads.

35th Round, 1,059th Overall: CF Ernesto Vuelvas (0.5): He won't sign, but he throws a knuckleball! The speedy outfielder has a cannon of an arm and can hit a little. He's also a decent, although not good by any means, pitcher.

36th Round, 1,089th Overall: C Arturo Mendoza (0.5): He's honestly underrated. He's got a great contact and gap tool, and is passable behind the plate. I'm not saying he even makes my GCL team, but he should have been selected already.

37th Round, 1,119th Overall: SS Joe Settle (0.5): He's a great defender with a cannon of an arm. He lacks a little range, so is likely suited for third, but he does make up for it with quick feet. He's got nice pop as well, but isn't the hardest worker.

38th Round, 1,149th Overall: SS T.J. Whitlow (0.5): The Florida native won't sign, but he's a great defensive player. He's got an elite eye as well, but bairly hits the ball, and when he does, it doesn't really go anywhere.

39th Round, 1,179th Overall: SP Jimmy Mize (0.5): He's got a ton of stamina and has a 79 rated change up. He's not too good outside of that, and gets hurt a lot, but Casey Mize has turned into a solid pitcher for the Twins.

40th Round, 1,209th Overall: 2B Chris Pollock (0.5): Selected in the 35th Round by the Red Sox in 2022, he attended Miami-Dade College and stole a ton of bases. He's not a good defender, but he's super fast. So there is that.

That concludes an uninspiring 2026 draft class...

Here's the status of the 2023 class that didn't sign and was eligible to be selected again:

13th Round: SS Danny Deliso (0.5/2): Selected by the Cubs in the 6th Round
16th Round: CF Jeremy Page (0.5/0.5): Selected by the Astros in the 30th round, then released
19th Round: SP Juan Arteaga (0.5/0.5): Went undrafted and will return for his senior year
29th Round: SP Braedon Chiasson (0.5/0.5): Went undrafted and will return for his senior year
30th Round: CF Sean Addis (0.5/0.5): Went undrafted and will return for his senior year
33rd Round: C Jonathan Hall (0.5/0.5): Went undrafted and will return for his senior year
34th Round: CF Juan Rivera (0.5/0.5): Selected by the Rays in the 22nd Round
35th Round: CF Nate Cody (0.5/0.5): Went undrafted and will return for his senior year
37th Round: SP Luis Ospina (0.5/0.5): Selected in the 28th Round by Arizona, then released
38th Round: SP Murdoch Pardy (0.5/0.5): Went undrafted and will return for his senior year

I'm hoping future classes will have more unsigned guys selected...

Next, I'm going to take a look at the 2021 class and how I did after 5 years.

I selected and signed 16 hitters, and none of them have played in the majors. I selected and signed 7 pitchers, and none of them have played in the majors. Nice...

1st Rounder Ken Adenrian was on the 40-man roster, but was later DFA'd. He's dropped a ton ratings wise, but still looks like he could become either a 4th outfielder or mop up reliever. Although all of a suddon he's a 5* potential reliever, which shocked me when I switched his position. So perhaps there is hope?

Here's what else is in the organization:

3rd Rounder Sergio Varas is in AA for us, but I'm not too confident in his abilities. He's teammates with Josh Windom, who pre-injury looked like a stud. He can still become a solid reliever. 8th Rounder Robby Moreno is in Jupiter, but is rated 1.5/1.5 as a reliever. 11th Rounder Billy Probst is nursing a partially torn labrum, but also looks like a future fringe big league reliever.

Here's what's outside the organization:

2nd Rounder Jeremy Kulhman still has solid potential, and sits in A Cedar Rapids of the Twins organization.

It doesn't look like a quailty class for me...

Some notables on other teams from the 2021 class:

1st Round: Yankees SP Mitch Hart (19-15, 4.54 ERA and 244 strikeouts in 281.1 innings)
1st Round: Reds SP Sean Geise (13-12 with a 4.34 ERA and 211 strikeouts in 219.2 innings)
1st Round: Washington 2B Noah Smith (.277/.350/.371 hitter with 7 homers, 86 RBI's, and 33 steals in 679 at bats)
1st Round: Colorado SS Brady House (.276/.311/.455 hitter with 10 homers and 50 RBI's in 319 at bats.
1st Round: Atlanta SP Chris Helmick (23-16 with a 3.87 ERA and 226 strikeouts in 327.2 innings)
1st Round: Arizona CF Enrique Bradfield (.292/.353/.391 hitter with 5 homers, 42 RBI's, and 11 steals)
5th Round: Boston 3B Garrett Blaylock (.253/.337/.395 hitter with 23 homers and 73 RBI's in 683 at bats)
23rd Round: Rangers SP Jim Gilbert (16-8, 3.48 ERA and 239 strikeouts in 225 innings, including a perfect game)

A few more sidenotes: I'm pondering expansion and reallignment, but need to find a good way to do it. I'm leaining towards the eventual 4 divisions, 5 teams per division, with 8 playoff teams. I think if I expand, it would be four teams twice, or four teams, then two, then two. Likely, the time period would be 3-4 years apart, and I would first create unaffiliated minor league teams for the new franchise that they could then adapt. With this, they could have a relatively full farm system without having an extremely long expansion draft. Likely, these independent minor league teams will be in the higher levels. I will also bring back former, defunt franchise names, such as the Expos for the majors or the San Frnacisco Seals for the minors.

Now, back to baseball games, with a three game series in Chicago with the Cubs. We'll see Zach Attianese (0-4, 10.07 ERA), Pablo Ochoa (6-1, 2.82 ERA), and German Marquez (2-2, 6.23 ERA).

June 5th-June 11th

June 5th, 2026: After the draft, we got to play the Cubs at Wrigley field. Devon Peterson (4-1, 3.96 ERA, 1.34 WHIP) faced Zach Arrianese (0-4, 10.07 ERA, 2.03 WHIP). We couldn't score, and the Cubs shut us out 6-0.

Peterson lasted just 2.2 innings, allowing 3 hits, 4 runs, and 2 walks while striking out 4. Ignacio Hinojos went 2.1 innings with 3 hits, a run, walk, and 5 strikeouts. Danny Niewald went 2.1 innings with 2 hits, a run, walk, and 4 strikeouts.

Isaac Nunez was 1-for-3 with a double. Juan Ramirez went 2-for-3.

June 6th, 2026: 1st Rounder Curt Walsh agreed to a $500,000 bonus.

The Mariners will be without LF Mike Spooner for the year with post-concussion syndrome. He was hitting .425/.511/.600 in 40 at bats this year.

Blue Jays righty Jean-Louis Vautrin tore his labrum and will miss the rest of the year. In 8 starts this year, he was 2-3 with a 5.30 ERA and 1.40 WHIP.

A little trade action as well: The Braves acquired RHP Mashiaro Tanaka and 1B Luis Guerra from the Reds for RHP Whip Mifflen and LHP Lucas Gordon. I really like this trade for the Braves.

I also outrighted LHP Luis Delgado to AA.

We needed to get back on track with Jordan Montgomery (7-1, 2.48 ERA, 0.96 WHIP) facing Pablo Ochoa (6-1, 2.82 ERA, 1.19 WHIP). Former Marlin Kyle Lewis hit a walk-off two run homer off a Jorge Moya slider and the Cubs won 5-3.

Lazaro Armenteros and Brennan Malone left with injuries. Malone was diagnosed with a strained shoulder, and will head to the DL for about 3-4 weeks.

Monty pitched fine, 4.2 innings with 5 hits, an unearned run, 3 walks, and 4 strikeouts. Malone allowed a run in an inning with a hit and strikeout. Hinojos allowed a run in 1.1 innings with 2 hits and 3 strikeouts. Moya pitched 1.2 innings with 2 walks, a hit, 2 runs, and a strikeout.

Cole Roederer was 2-for-4 with a double, run scored, 2 RBI's, and a steal. Armenteros was 1-for-2 with a walk, run scored, and steal before leaving with injury. Jarred Kelenic was 1-for-4 with a double and run scored.

June 7th, 2026: I activated Seth Beer from the diasbled list.

The Padres will be without LHP Adrian Morejon for the year with a torn flexor tendon in his elbow. He had a 2.12 ERA and 0.91 WHIP in 34 innings with 30 strikeouts and just 6 walks.

I traded the recently DFA'd Lewis Brinson to the Mets for my former minor leaguer 1B Ashton McGee.

We needed to avoid the sweep with Steve Paustian (3-4, 4.91 ERA, 1.45 WHIP) taking on German Marquez (2-2, 6.23 ERA, 1.25 WHIP). The game froze midway through, but eventually it loaded and we won 9-4. Thankfully...

Jarred Kelenic and Hyo-jin Yaung both left with day-to-day injuries that will not involve DL time.

Paustian went 4, allowing 5 hits, 4 runs, 2 walks, and he struck out 3. Danny Niewald got the win, 2 innings with a hit and strike out. Ernesto Estrella and Ben Popkin pitched the 7th and got holds before we increased our lead.

Kelenic was 3-for-5 with a double, run scored, 2 RBi's, and a steal. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was 2-for-4 with a walk and three run homer. Jhon Solarte was 1-for-5, but had a two run triple. Cole Roederer was 2-for-5 with a run scored. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-4 with a walk and run scored.

Nationals 3B Tanner Kohlheep was 5-for-5 in a 12-8 win over the Dodgers. Astros 1B Yordan Alvarez was 5-for-5 in an 8-5 win over the Royals.

The big news, however, took place between Boston and New York. Red Sox SP Aldredo Rivera was brilliant, walking just 1 batther and striking out 12 in a no-hitter! The Red Sox cruised to a 6-0 win, and Rivera etched his name into the record books with this performance.

We're off to Pittsburgh where we look to get back on track. We'll face Ken Haugen (1-4, 5.40 ERA), Jonathan Kearns (2-2, 4.41 ERA), Mitch Keller (3-7, 4.14 ERA), and Sean Geise (4-5, 2.82 ERA).

June 8th, 2026: Armenteros broke a bone in his elbow, and will be out for the year. As an imprending free agent, he has likely played his last game as a Marlin. I recalled Greg Walston from AAA.

The Orioles will be without CL Nick Burdi for the rest of the year with a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament. He was 1-0 with a 2.97 ERA and he saved 13 games.

We dropped to 8th in the power rankings, and at 34-25 sit in 3rd place.

We opened the series at PNC Park with Mike Soroka (1-4, 5.06 ERA, 1.59 WHIP) taking on Ken Haugen (1-4, 5.40 ERA, 1.37 WHIP). It was a close one, but we were edged out 2-1. Yay...

Soroka pitched well, 6.1 innings with 4 hits, a run, 3 walks, and 3 strike outs. Yaung got the loss, allowing a run with a hit and strikeout.

Juan Ramirez was 1-for-4 with a solo homer. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-3 with a double. Dewitt MacGregor was 1-for-2 with 2 walks. Vlad Jr. was 1-for-4 with a steal.

Carlos Correa hit his 300th career homer as the White Sox beat the Rays 17-2. In 1,592 career games, he's a career .299/.370/.513 hitter with 1,035 RBI's and 1,785 career hits.

June 9th, 2026: We needed a win, with Jake Florence (3-2, 3.14 ERA, 1.65 WHIP) taking on Jonathan Kearns (2-2, 4.41 ERA, 1.50 WHIP). We got three in the first, but that was all, and we lost 5-3...

Florence only went 3 innnings, allowing 4 hits, 3 runs, and a walk with 3 strikeouts. Greg Walston got the loss, allowing a hit that later scored to the only batter he faced. Estrella was chaged with 2 hits, a run, and a walk in 1.2 innings with 2 strikeouts.

Seth Beer was 1-for-4 with a three run homer in the first. Vlad was 2-for-4 with a run scored. Jhon Solarte was 2-for-4.

Now isn't this crazy. Just a few days after the Rivera no-hitter, Tigers SP Michael Fulmer tossed a no-hitter in a 2-0 win over the Red Sox. He walked 3 and struck out just 2, but Fulmer didn't allow a single hit.

June 10th, 2026: 2nd Rounder Shawn Perryman decided not to sign, and will head to college.

The Brewers will be without former 4th Overall Pick Andy Hippler for the year and part of next year with a ruptured ulnar collateral ligament. He tossed just 3.1 innings in his big league career, allowing 5 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks, and he struck out 4, but Hippler is one of the top young relief prospects in the leafue.

We needed a win to at least make the split possible, with Devon Peterson (4-2, 4.36 ERA, 1.36 WHIP) taking on Mitch Keller (3-7, 4.14 ERA, 1.12 WHIP). Considering we have every positional advantage, we should win. And thankfully, we crushed them 12-1 with help from 10 runs in the last two innings.

Peterson tossed 6 innings with 4 hits, a run, 2 walks, and 8 strikeouts. Jorge Moya got the hold, 2 innings with 3 hits and a strikeout.

Juan Ramirez was 2-for-4 with a sac-fly, homer, 2 runs, and 4 RBI's. Thomas Dillard was 2-for-5 with a double, homer, 2 runs, and 5 RBI's. Deshawn Hardamon was 2-for-5 with a three run homer. Jhon Solarte was 2-for-3 with a hit by pitch, walk, run scored, and steal. Jarred Kelenic was 1-for-4 with a double, walk, and run scored. Jordy Barley was 1-for-2 with a double and run scored as a pinch hitter in the 9th.

Rangers SP Ryan Dease tossed a 8-hit shutout in a 6-0 win over the Nationals.

Giants 3B Manny Machado hit his 400th career homer. The 33-year-old is a career ,279/.334/.481 hitter with 1,198 RBI's in 2,089 games.

June 11th, 2026: Fan vote update: Dillard ranks second for catchers. Vladdy third for third. Quivers is fourth for relievers.

We needed to finish the series with a win, and Jordan Montgomery (7-1, 2.31 ERA, 1.01 WHIP) taking on Sean Geise (4-5, 2.82 ERA, 1.51 WHIP). We got 4 in the 1st, but it wasn't enough, and we lost 6-5. Wow this was a great road trip...

Luckily, we get tomorrow off...

Oh yeah, and Montgomery left with a sore elbow, and will head to the DL for most likely just 10 days. He allowed 8 hits and 6 runs in 3 innnings. The rest of the pen tossed 5 innings with 6 hits.

Thomas Dillard was 1-for-4 with a grand slam in the first. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-4 with a solo homer. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-4 with a double. Jarred Kelenic was 1-for-3 with a walk and run scored.

After the game, I recalled Marc Bjork from AAA.

Orioles SS Logan Davidson was 5-for-7 in a 15-5 win over the Yankees.

Well, we have just a 1 game lead for the 2nd Wild Card, 3.5 games behind Philly for home field, and 4.5 behind Washington for the division. It's been a rough stretch, but we can head home where we are 19-11 this year.

June 12th-June 18th

June 12th, 2026: 4th Rounder Bobby Bentivenga agreed to a $240,000 bonus and 5th Rounder Sam Pell agreed to a $190,000 bonus.

On my day off, I worked on a few possible trades. I sent an offer in, but got nothing agreed upon.

We're headed back home to host the Athletics, and we'd see Brandon Neeck (2-0, 4.23 ERA) and Nivaldo Pool (0-2, 6.98 ERA) before another off day. I hate when this is how we get our off days...

June 13th, 2026: I signed 1st Rounder Jorge Luna to a $700,000 bonus and 3rd Rounder Jon Clark to a $340,000 bonus.

We began the series with the struggling Steve Paustian (3-4, 5.23 ERA, 1.47 WHIP) facing Brandon Neeck (2-0, 4.23 ERA, 1.41 WHIP). The A's got three in the third and held us off for a 5-3 win.

Paustian went 3 innings, allowing 6 hits, 4 runs, a walk, and he struck out 4. Ignacio Hinojos allowed a run off a hit and walk in 2 innings with 4 strikeouts.

SetH Beer was 2-for-4 with a pair of solo homers. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was 1-for-4 with a solo homer. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-3 with a walk.

June 14th, 2026: 1st Rounder Joe Martin agreed to a $850,000 bonus.

We looked to win the finale to split the two game set with Mike Soroka (1-4, 4.71 ERA, 1.54 WHIP) facing Nivando Pool (0-2, 6.98 ERA, 1.65 WHIP). It was well pitched game by Soroka, and we won the finale 4-1.

Soroka went 8, allownig 4 hits and a walk, while striking out 4. Alpha Quivers got the save, striking out two in a perfect 9th.

Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-3 with a double, sac-fly, and 3 RBI's. Thomas Dillard was 2-for-4 with a double and run scored. Isaac Nunez was 2-for-4. Vlad Jr. was 1-for-4 with a run scored.

We get tomorrow off, and will head to Atlanta.

June 15th, 2026: At 36-29, we dropped a spot to 10th in the Power Rankings.

Off to Atlanta to face the Braves for a three game series. We'll see Mack Anglin (1-3, 3.67 ERA), Mashiaro Tanaka (3-5, 4.54 ERA), and former Marlin Ken Harty (2-4, 4.13 ERA).

June 16th, 2026: A pair of players saw thier seasons end. SS Brady House of the Rockies tore his posterior cruciate ligament, and Nationals SP Sonny Warner damage his elbow ligament. Both players have 4.5 potential, House 2.5/4.5 with Warner 4.5/4.5.

We opeend the series at SunTrust Park with Mack Anglin (1-3, 3.67 ERA, 1.56 WHIP) taking on Jake Florence (3-2, 3.41 ERA, 1.65 WHIP). Both pitchers have lost to the opposing team. Florence has trouble with Johnny Houghtby, like most pitchers, who is 7-for-18 with 2 homers. We got six in the 8th and won the opener 10-6.

Florence went just 4, with 6 hits, 3 runs, and 3 strikeouts. Ben Popkin allowed 3 in 1.1 innings with a hit, 5 walks, and a strikeout. Hyo-jin Yaung got his first win of the year, tossing 1.2 innings with a hit. Jorge Moya got the hold and Alpha Quivers the save.

Jarred Kelenic was 1-for-3 with a steal. Isaac Nunez was 2-for-5 with 2 runs and a solo homer. Jhon Solarte was 1-for-4 with a grand slam. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-4 with a double.

Rockies CF Mike Sandberg was 5-for-5 in an 8-7 win over the Giants.

June 17th, 2026: Jordan Montgomery's recover is now unclear. Yay...

Game two saw former Marlin Ken Harty (2-4, 4.13 ERA, 1.25 WHIP) face Devon Peterson (5-2, 4.11 ERA, 1.33 WHIP). Harty, just 25, was sent out in the Soroka trade, and man do I wish I hung on to him. He's now a 4/4.5 with absolute insane stuff. He was solid today, and we were edged 4-3.

Peterson went 4.2 innings with 6 hits, 3 runs, and 4 strikeouts. Hinojos tossed 2.1 innings with a hit and 4 strikeouts. Jorge Moya got the loss, allowing 2 hits, a run, 2 walks, and 2 strikeouts, but walked Freddie Freeman with the bases loaded to end the game.

Jarred Kelenic was 2-for-4 with 2 runs and a solo homer. Vlad Jr. was 2-for-3 with a walk, double, and run scored. We only had four hits as a team. The last run came from a Seth Beer sac-fly.

White Sox RF Mason Robbins was 5-for-5 in a 10-7 win over the Blue Jays. Former Marlin Josh Weske tossed a 3-hit shutout in a 6-0 Phillies win over Arizona.

June 18th, 2026: Fan vote update: Thomas Dillard is second at catcher. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. ranks second at third base. Alpha Quivers ranks fourth for relievers.

Marc Bjork (1-0, 4.72 ERA, 0.97 WHIP) returned to the rotation against Mashiaro Tanaka (3-5, 4.54 ERA, 1.20 WHIP). We got three in the 9th, but still fell 5-3 as we continue a rough patch.

Bjork allowed 5 in 4 innings with 6 hits. The rest of the pen pitched 4 innings with a hit, 3 walks, and 4 strikeouts.

Kelenic was 2-for-4 with a double and two run homer. Junior was 1-for-4 with a double and run scored. Jhon Solarte was 1-for-2 with a walk.

Padres C Edilberto Mendoza was 5-for-5 in a 6-5 win over the Brewers.

We're headed home to face the first place Nationals for three games. We'll see Hunter Wood, Cole Ragans (4-5, 3.48 ERA), and Jhon Vergara (4-3, 4.30 ERA) as we need to get back on track.

I'm a little worried about the team, but I don't want to make drastic moves. Yet...

We opened the series hosting the Nationals with Steve Paustian (3-5, 5.60 ERA, 1.52 WHIP) taking on Hunter Wood, who's making his first start of the year. It was a close one, but we edged them 4-3 to open this crucial matchup.

Former Marlin and current Twin reliever Drew Steckenrider will miss the rest of the year with a damaged elbow ligament. He tossed 20.2 innings with 16 strikeouts and a 6.97 ERA.

We looked to win the series a day ealry with Mike Soroka (2-4, 4.32 ERA, 1.42 WHIP) facing Cole Ragans (4-5, 3.48 ERA, 1.31 WHIP). Soroka has trouble with Nationals 1B Andreson Franco, who's a career 14-for-42 hitter with 3 homers. Franco did get an RBI single off Soroka, bbut it wasn't enough as we beat the first place Nats 6-4.

Soroka went 5.2 innings, allowing 5 hits, 3 runs (1 earned) and he struck out 5. Walston, Jorge Moya, Yaung, and Ernesto Estrella got holds while Alpha Quivers got the save. Moya allowed a run in 1.1 innings with a walk and 3 strikeouts.

June 21st, 2026: We looked to finish the sweep with Jake Florence (3-2, 3.60 ERA, 1.64 WHIP) taking on Jhon Vergara (4-3, 4.30 ERA, 1.34 WHIP). Florence was great, and we got the brooms out after the 4-1 win.

Florence went 5.2 innings with 3 hits, a run, 2 walks, and 4 strikeouts. Walston, Moya, Niewald, and Estrella got holds before Quivers shut the door in a perfect 9th.

Cole Roederer was 2-for-4 with 3 RBI's. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-4 with a run scored and driven in. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-2 with 2 walks and a run scored.

Next, the Cubs come to town for four as we look to stay hot. We'll face Zach Attianese (1-6, 7.18 ERA), German Marquez (4-2, 4.57 ERA), ex-Marlin A.J. Puckett (2-6, 5.09 ERA), and Jorge Flores (5-3, 3.05 ERA).

June 22nd, 2026: Now 40-31, we shot up the power rankings to 4th.

We opened the four game set with Devon Peterson (5-2, 4.22 ERA, 1.33 WHIP) taking on Zach Attianese (1-6, 7.18 ERA, 1.62 WHIP), who's only win came against us. We got three quick runs in the first, and curised to an 8-2 win.

Peterson didn't have the best outing, 4.2 innings with 6 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks, and 5 strikeouts. Ben Popkin finished the 5th with a strikeout to get the win. Danny Niewald got a hold, tossing 2 innings with a hit and 3 strikeouts. Ignacio Hinojos pitched the last 2 innings with a walk and 5 strikeouts.

Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-4 with a walk, 2 runs, and solo homer. Jhon Solarte was 2-for-5 with a double.

Today is my favorite day, where I have to lower my GCL roster from 71 to 40...

I traded four prospects to the Phillies for CF Juan Rueda. I traded four more to the Mariners for RF Juan Luera. I traded four more to the Rockies for SP Sergio Montemayor to finish the cuts.

June 23rd, 2026: We looked to win our 5th straight with Marc Bjork (1-1, 6.23 ERA, 1.10 WHIP) facing German Marquez (4-2, 4.57 ERA, 1.15 WHIP). The pitching was perfect, and we shut them out 4-0.

Bjork went 5.1 innings with 2 hits and 10 strikeouts. Estrella, Popkin, and Yaung earned holds, and Hinojos struck out the side in the 9th. We only allowed 3 hits and struck out 19. Only Aramis Ademan (a walk in his only plate appearence) batted today and didn't strike out.

Junior was a perfecr 4-for-4 with a triple, 2 RBI's, and 2 steals. Jarred Kelenic was 2-for-3 with a solo homer, 3 runs, a walk, and a double. Jhon Solarte was 1-for-4 with a triple. Jordy Barley had a pinch hit single and also stole second.

June 24th, 2026: We looked to extend our win streak to six with Steve Paustian (4-5, 5.10 ERA, 1.52 WHIP) facing former Marlin A.J. Puckett (2-6, 5.09 ERA, 1.30 WHIP). It wasn't even close, and we crushed them 11-0.

Paustian allowed just 3 hits and 3 walks with 9 strikeouts in 6 innings. Jorge Moya got a hold, but then we just exploded for 7 runs in the 6th.

Jhon Solarte was 2-for-2 with 3 runs, 2 RBI's, 2 walks, a double, and triple. Isaac Nunez was 3-for-4 with three run sscored. Seth Beer was 2-for-5 with a run scored and RBI. Jordy Barley had a pinch hit, 2 run triple, and also scored. Vladdy was 1-for-5 with a solo shot. Jarred Kelenic was 2-for-3 with a run scored, 3 RBI's, and a walk.

June 25th, 2026: All Star Update: Dillard second for catchers. Vladdy second for third base. Quivers third for relievers.

We looked to sweep the four game series with Mike Soroka (3-4, 4.12 ERA, 1.39 WHIP) facing Jorge Flores (5-3, 3.05 ERA, 1.16 WHIP). We got three in the 6th, and held onto a 4-2 lead to sweep the series.

Soroka went 6 with 6 hits, 2 runs, 3 walks, and 3 strikeouts. Jorge Moya tossed 2 innings with a hit, walk, and 2 strikeouts to get the save. Alpha Quivers pitched a perfect 9th with two strikeouts to close his 24th game.

Will Wilson of the Tigers hit three homers in a 10-4 win over the Padres.

We have a day off tomorrow to enjoy Miami before the Mets come to town.

June 26th-July 2nd

June 26th, 2026: Brennan Malone will head to AAA on rehab.

The Mets will come to town tomorrow for a three game set. We'll see Brady Singer (1-10, 5.35 ERA), Robert Stephenson (1-6, 4.90 ERA), and Noah Syndergaard (3-3, 3.60 ERA) as we look to stay hot.

June 27th, 2026: I activated Jordan Montgomery from the DL and optioned Marc Bjork to AAA.

The last place, 26 win Mets, came to town as Jake Florence (4-2, 3.45 ERA, 1.59 WHIP) took on Brady Singer (1-10, 5.35 ERA, 1.23 WHIP). It was a close one, but we gave the Mets their 50th loss in a 4-5 victory. It is really, really nice to see the Mets suck...

Florence couldn't get out of the 5th, going 4.2 innings with 5 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks, and 4 strikeouts. Ben Popkin got the win, 2 runs (1 earned) in 0.2 innings with 3 hits. Hyo-jin Yaung, Danny Niewald, Ernesto Estrella, and Greg Walston got holds while Alpha Quivers got the save.

Jarred Kelenic was 1-for-4 with a two run homer. Florence was 1-for-2 with a 2 run double. Seth Beer was 2-for-3 with a double, walk, and run scored. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-4 with a walk and run scored.

Heliot Ramos was 5-for-5 in a 8-6 Giants win over the Rockies.

June 28th, 2026: We looked for win number nine with Devon Peterson (5-2, 4.20 ERA, 1.35 WHIP) taking on Robert Stephenson (1-6, 4.90 ERA, 1.19 WHIP). Another shutout, and we held off the Mets in a 2-0 win.

Peterson pitched well, 6.1 innings with 4 hits, 3 walks, and 11 strikeouts. Moya and Yaung earned holds while Quivers got the save.

Thomas Dillard was 1-for-2 with a double and sac-fly. Seth Beer was 1-for-3 with a walk, double, run scored, and RBI. Vladdy was 1-for-3 with a walk.

Now a Royals SS, the longtime Indian Francisco Lindor hit his 300th career homer. He's a career .309/.377/.518 hitter in 1,749 games with 1,088 RBI's.

June 29th, 2026: We shot up all the way to first in the Power Rankings. At 46-31, we are just half a game out of first.

10 in a row? Jordan Montgomery (7-2, 2.99 ERA, 1.08 WHIP) makes his return to the moynd against Noah Syndergaard (3-3, 3.60 ERA, 1.14 WHIP). Jarred Kelenic hit a leadoff homer, and that was the only scoring as we finished our homestand a perfect 10-0.

Monty went 5 with 4 hits, 2 walks, and 3 strikeouts. Moya, Walston, Niewald, and Yaung earned holds while Ernesto Estrella got the save. Moya struck out 5 of the 6 batters he faced (the last was a walk).

Kelenic was 1-for-4 with the solo shot. Junior was 1-for-3 with a double. Monty himself was 1-for-2.

Twins 1B Danny Contreras was 5-for-6 in a 16-6 win over the Red Sox.

We're off to Milwaukee and finally back where we belong: first place. We'll see Victor Mederos (4-4, 3.60 ERA), Jake Webb (6-3, 4.30 ERA), and Joey Lucessi (3-1, 1.91 ERA).

June 30th, 2026: The Red Sox will be without Pedro Araujo for the year with a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament. He was 4-2 with a 3.79 ERA and 5 saves in 42 relief appearences.

A battle of first place teams took place at Miller Park with Steve Paustian (5-5, 4.64 ERA, 1.47 WHIP) facing Victor Mederos (4-4, 3.60 ERA, 1.26 WHIP). We got four in the fifth to extend out streak to 11 with a 9-4 win.

Paustian went just 4, allowing 4 hits, 3 runs, and 4 walks while getting just 3 strike outs. Ignacio Hinojos got the win, 2 strikeouts in the 5th. Walston, Niewald, Estrella, and Popkin got holds before we got two runs in the 9th.

Thomas Dillard was 2-for-4 with a solo homer and double. Deshawn Hardamon was 2-for-5 with a solo homer, double, and 2 runs scored. Vlad Jr. was 2-for-4 with a walk and RBI. Jarred Kelenic was 2-for-3 with 3 walks, a steal, a run scored, and RBI. Seth Beer was 1-for-5 with a walk, 2 runs, and solo homer. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-5 with a three run homer.

A's superstar SS Jonathan Guzman was 5-for-5 in a 6-3 win over the Braves.

July 1st, 2026: Blue Jays righty Jacob Nix will be out for the year with shoulder inflammation. He tossed 11.1 innings with a 2.38 ERA and just 5 strikeouts.

Vladdy was named NL Batter of the Month, hitting .384 with 7 homers, 21 RBI's, and 18 runs scored. This year he's hitting .320/.393/.556 with 15 homers and 54 RBI's.

We looked to win #12 with Mike Soroka (4-4, 4.04 ERA, 1.39 WHIP) taking on Jake Webb (6-3, 4.30 ERA, 1.24 WHIP). The only scoring came in the 6th, where the Brew Crew got 5 runs to snap our streak.

Soroka allowed 4 runs in 5 innings with 3 walks and 3 strikeouts. Danny Niewald allowed a pair of hits and a run in an inning of work.

We had just 3 hits. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-4 with a double. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-4. Seth Beer was 1-for-3 with a walk.

July 2nd, 2026: The International Amateur Pool is released today! There is one guy that I absolutely love, and a few other solid options. Only problem is, I have literally no money...

I extended a majority of the personell that would re-sign. That includes scouting director Jaron Madison and manager Aaron Boone.

All-Star update: Dillard third, Vladdy 2nd, Nunez 3rd, Quivers 2nd.

Nationals SP Hunter Wood is out for the year with a torn flexor tendon in his elbow. He was 0-1 with a 4.38 ERA.

Now tied in first with the Phillies, we looked to bounce back quick with ace Jake Florence (4-2, 3.47 ERA, 1.58 WHIP) taking on Joey Lucchesi (3-1, 1.91 ERA, 0.86 WHIP). It was a tight one, but we edged them 5-4 to leave Milwaukee with a series win.

Florence went 6, allowing 3 hits, a run, and a walk with 8 strikeouts. He should've got the win, but Ernesto Estrella did instead, allowing 2 runs off 3 hits with 2 strikeouts in the 7th before we scored more runs in the 8th. Hinojos allowed a run and walk in the 8th with 2 strikeouts to get a hold. Alpha Quivers struck out two in a perfect 9th for his 27th save.

Isaac Nunez was a perfect 4-for-4 with a steal, 2 runs, 2 RBI's, a double, and homer. Thomas Dillard was 2-for-4 with 2 runs and a solo homer. Jhon Solarte was 1-for-4 with a solo homer. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-3 with a double.

We're off to St. Louis for four, where we will see Lenny Torres (2-3, 3.59 ERA), Eric Webster (3-2, 3.25 ERA), Joe LaBrie (6-7, 4.39 ERA), and Junior Fernandez (2-9, 7.54 ERA).

Side note: I'm planning on changing the active roster limit in the majors to 26 to allow for more flexibility and hopefully, less injuries and fatigue around the league.

Another quick note, the Draft Pick deadline is the 5th, so I'll do the updates I need for the future pool either that day or after I finish the two series report.

July 3rd-July 9th

July 3rd, 2026: The Royals will be without SP Erlnig Moreno for the year with a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament. He was 3-6 with a 5.04 ERA and 54 strikeouts in 75 innings.

The Nationals will be without LHP Jerrod Eaddy for the year with bone chips in his elbow. The former 7th rounder made 13 relif appearences with a 2.89 ERA in 18.2 innings with 19 strikeouts.

We were supposed to open a four game series with the Cardinals today, but the game was postponed. We'll play a double header tomorrow.

Mets C Wilson Contreras was 5-for-5 in a 8-3 win over the Nationals.

July 4th, 2026: Game 1 saw Devon Peterson (6-2, 3.89 ERA, 1.33 WHIP) take on Lenny Torres (2-3, 3.59 ERA, 1.08 WHIP). We got five in the 7th in a 10-3 opening win.

Peterson pitched well, 6 innings with 5 hits, 3 runs, 4 walks, and 8 strikeouts. I only needed two relievers, and they tossed 3 innings with 2 hits, a walk, and 2 strikeouts. St. Louis used 6.

Jarred Kelenic had a monster game, 3-for-4 with 4 runs, 5 RBI's, a double, and two homers. Juan Ramirez was 2-for-4 with 2 runs, a hit by pitch, doubleh, and steal. Thomas Dillard was 2-for-5 with a double, run scored, and RBI. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was 2-for-5 with a run scored, RBI, and double. Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-5, but hit a two run homer. Jordy Barley was 1-for-3 with a wlak, run scored, and RBI.

Game two saw Jordan Montgomery (8-2, 2.78 ERA, 1.09 WHIP) take on Eric Webster (3-2, 3.25 ERA, 1.44 WHIP). It was a close one, but they edged us 9-7 to split the double header.

Monty went 4, allowing 5 hits, 5 runs, and a walk with 2 strikeouts. Greg Walston went 1.1 innings with 4 hits and 3 runs. Ernesto Estrella was charged with a run in 1.2 innings with 2 hits, a walk, and 2 strikeouts.

Vlad was 3-for-5 with 2 runs, 3 RBI's, and a homer. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-4 with a solo homer, 2 runs, and a hit by pitch. Jhon Solarte was 2-for-4. Deshawn Hardamon was 2-for-5.

July 5th, 2026: I made a trade to free up some salary space, sending RP Luis Delgado, SP Alex Balog, and 2B Derek Cartaya to the Rangers for RP Sanshiro Onuma with his salary being retained, and cash considerations.

Onuma, 33, came over from Japan, and is a lefty rated a 3/3. He's an extreme groundball pitcher with an absolutely nasty slider. "Sandshrew" has 220 MLB innings under his belt with a 4.83 ERA and 1.60 WHIP. I optioned Walston to place him on the active roster.

The Twins will be without LHP Fo-hian Renouf for the year with shoulder inflammation. In 63.2 innings he has struck out 56 and worked a 4.10 ERA.

Now a game out of first, Steve Paustian (5-5, 4.76 ERA, 1.50 WHIP) took on former Marlin Joe LaBrie (6-7, 4.39 ERA, 1.18 WHIP). It wasn't close, and the Cardinals beat us 7-2 to take the series lead.

Paustian went 5 with 5 hits, 4 runs, 3 walks, and 7 strikeouts. Danny Niewald allowed 2 runs off 2 hits and didn't get an out. Estrella was charged with a run off 2 hits with 2 strike outs in 1.1 innings.

Deshawn Hardamon was 2-for-4 with a two run homer. Jarred Kelenic was 2-for-4. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-3 with a run scored and walk.

Blue Jays 3B Nolan Arenado hit his 2,000th career hit. The former Rockie and Dodger has the flu, but still managed to earn the milestone. The 35-year-old has played in 1,981 career games with a .269/.330/.519 triple slash to go with 440 homers and 1,274 RBI's.

July 6th, 2026: The draft pick deadline was yesterday, so today I find out where all my former players will play college ball:

2nd Round: SP Shawn Perryman (LSU 2029)
6th Round: RF Dave Naulty (San Diego 2027)
8th Round: SP Nate Walters (Miami OH 2029)
13th Round: RF Junior Ritcher (Seton Hall 2027)
14th Round: 2B Kennan Muttart (Auburn 2029)
15th Round: CF Juan Escudero (South Carolina 2029)
18th Round: CF Juan Montoya (Fresno State 2029)
22nd Round: CF Dan Hitz (San Jose City 2029)
27th Round: C Murdoch Levick (Missouri State 2029)
31st Round: SS Ethan McKinney (Arkansas Tech 2029)
32nd Round: SP Jake Miller (Stony Brook 2029)
33rd Round: C Daniel R. Suber (San Francisco 2029)
35th Round: CF Ernesto Vuelvas (San Diego 2029)
38th Round: SS T.J. Whitlow (Vanderbilt 2027)

I will recieve the 63rd Overall Pick for Perryman deciding not to sign with me and go to LSU instead.

Tampa will be without LHP Richard Lovelady for the year with a torn rotator cuff. He was 3-4 with a 4.50 ERA in 34 innings.

The Power Rankings dropped us to 3rd. Our 50-34 record is 2 games behind the Phillies, who sit atop the Power Rankings.

The Orioles acquired RHP David Sosebee and RHP Sergio Magdaleno from the Pirates for LHP Joe Farr. It's an absolute steal for Baltimore.

We needed to avoid the sweep with RF Jarred Kelenic (0-0, 0.00 ERA, 0.00 WHIP) making a spot start against Arlinthon De Dios (1-1, 3.50 ERA, 1.28 WHIP). Kelenic is a two-way player, and I needed someone to fill in with the double header. He hit third and tossed 7 scorless innings in a 5-0 victory. Wow. He was 0-for-3 with a walk, but dang what a game.

In the 7 innings, he struck out 7 and allowed just 2 hits. Ben Popkin and Ignacio Hinojos tossed hitless innings, Popkin walking a hitter and Hinojos walking one and striking out one.

Jordy barley, who I used in RF to replace Kelenic, who had to pitch, was 2-for-4 with 2, 2-run homers. I killed it with substitutions today! Vladdy was 2-for-4 with a double and run scored. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-4 with an RBI. Jhon Solarte was 1-for-4 with a run scored.

Our next series in San Francisco, where we'll play the Giants for three. We'll see Wes Hicks (2-9, 5.77 ERA), Yonny Chirinos (2-4, 4.55 ERA), and Madison Bumgarner (4-7, 4.63 ERA). But first, I'm editing the 2029 class.

Some names to look ahead for are:

SP Alfredo Briceno, Cal-State Fullerton (Baltimore, Supplemental Pick)
3B Sam Hoch, Wichita Sate (Yankees, 12th Round)
SP Eddie Marchionne, Texas (Indians, 5th Round)
SP Dave Shears, Yale (Tigers, 1st Round)
C Juan Luis Ramirez, Georgia Tech (Tigers, 29th Round)
3B Sean Holbrook, Arkansas (Mariners, 17th Round)
SP Gil Krause, Michigan State (Rangers, 35th Round)
SS Tommy Simpson, UCLA (Braves, 38th Round)
CF Mike Winner, South Carolina (Phillies, 8th Round)
CF Kevin Clark, UCLA (Brewers, 3rd Round)
SP Eric Estes, USC (Brewers, 5th Round)
1B Eric Cowart, Ohio State (Rockies, 5th Round)
RF Andy Crow, Cal-State Fullerton (Padres, 40th Round)
RF Chad Shaeffer, Virginia (Giants, 5th Round)

July 7th, 2026: The Mariners lost RHP Brad Roney for the rest of this year and at least half of next year with a torn ulnar collateral ligament. He made 42 relief appearence and worked a 3.31 ERA with 75 strikeouts in 51.2 innings.

Former Marlin John Curtiss is out for the season with bone chips in his elbow. The right had a 3.40 ERA and struck out 74 in 47.2 innings of relief work.

The Brewers sent 3B Jose Ramirez to the Red Sox for SP Alfredo Rivera. It's a fair deal, but Rivera pitched a no-hitter exactly one month from today.

We opened the series at the Bay with Mike Soroka (4-5, 4.22 ERA, 1.39 WHIP) facing Wes Hicks (2-9, 5.77 ERA, 1.55 WHIP). We scored a run in the 7th and 2 in the 8th to tie it. It took 11 innings, but Jon Reid hit a pinch hit 2-run double in the 11th as we escaped with a 5-3 win.

Soroka went 6 innings, allowing 6 hits, 3 runs, and a walk with 5 strikeouts. Alpha Quives got the win, 2 innings with a strikeouts before Danny Niewald earned the first save of his career.

Thomas Dillard was 2-for-4 with a two run homer and a walk. Juan Ramirez was 2-for-5 with a RBI and steal. Seth Beer was 2-for-4 with 2 runs scored and a walk. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-4 with a walk, run scored, and steal.

July 8th, 2026: Game two saw Jake Florence (4-2, 3.34 ERA, 1.52 WHIP) take on former Marlin Yonny Chirinos (2-4, 4.55 ERA, 1.31 WHIP). We got five quick runs to take the series a game early with a 7-3 win.

Cole Roederer left with quadircep soreness, but won't miss enough time to head to the DL. Since it's a day to day injury, he can play though it as well.

Florence went 5.2 innings with 5 hits, a run, and 6 strikeouts. Ernesto Estrella got just 1 out and allowed 2 runs, a hit, and he walked a hitter.

Jarred Kelenic was 3-for-5 with a triple, run scored, 2 RBI's, and a steal. Deshawn Hardamon was 2-for-5 with 2 RBI's. Jon Reid came off the bench to replace Roederer, and was 1-for-3 with a walk, 2 runs, and a steal. Roederer doubled home a run in his only at bat.

July 9th, 2026: Mike Soroka asked me for an extension, but I don't have any money. Not like I would extend him, considering a 28-year-old starting pitcher would demand too much and the fact that he's fragile. But it's always nice to hear your players want to stay.

The All-Star rosters were announced today. Representing the Marlins are SP Jake Florence and CL Alpha Quivers. Both of them are making it for the first time. I'd say Jordan Montgomery and Vlad Jr. deserved it as well. Monty is 8-3 with a 3.22 ERA and 1.11 WHIP with 67 strikeouts. Vladdy is hitting .313/.386/.542 with 16 homers, 58 RBI's, and 15 steals.

Just 1 game out of first, we looked to finish the sweep with Devon Peterson (7-2, 3.93 ERA, 1.34 WHIP) taking on Madison Bumgarner (4-7, 4.63 ERA, 1.27 WHIP). Despite all the years MadBum has spent in the bigs, none of my starters had more then 10 at bats against him. He was great, and they edged us 3-2 to end the first half of the season.

Peterson went 5.2 with 8 hits, 3 runs, and 5 strikeouts. Danny Niewald tossed 2 innings with 2 strikeouts.

Isaac Nunez was 1-for-3 with a steal and run scored. Dewitt MacGregor was 1-for-3 with a double, run scored, and RBI. Jarred Kelenic was 1-for-4 with a double and RBI. Seth Beer was 1-for-4 with a double.

Just named to his third All-Star game, 24-year-old Sergio Barreto tossed a 1-hit shutout in a 5-0 win oer the A's.

Another recently named All-Star Mike Trout hit his 500th career homer. The 14-time All Star is a career .293/.412/.561 hitter with 1,340 career RBI's in 2,096 games with the Angels. He's slowed down a bit, and this is likely going to be the first full season in his career with a WAR below 3.5.

We end the second half with a 53-35 record, two games out of first, and second best in the NL. It's not exactly where I want to be right now, but there is time to get better and upgrade. I'm likely to stay put, since a lot of my stars (Beer, Dillard, Ramirez, and Hardamon) are having really rough seasons, and are bound to pick it back up.

We do have a little break from games with the Break, but I doubt it will contain very many transactions.
