He was quite possibly my least favorite player of all time as a child. (I grew up near Boston)

I can understand that, I'm sure most Sox fans (and other AL East team's fans) couldn't stand him.

I think this season is going to be a lot of fun for both of our teams!

O’s fan here. Bracing for watching Machado come play in the big Apple. Hoping some way some how Philadelphia is able to lure him but I think Manny wants the attention of NY.

Franchise Player, likely gone at the end of the year but there is no denying his impact on the team. Bringer of Rain.

Never really in the conversation of all-time best pitchers and certainly not one of the most dominating or exciting - and it would be hard to make the case that he should be. That said, it's pretty hard to argue with 324 W, 3574 K (7th All Time), and lifetime WHIP of 1.142. He also holds the record for most consecutive at bats without a HR (1354), most 9-scoreless innings starts with a no decision (7), and consecutive losses to a single team (13 to the Cubs).
A standup guy, great pitcher, great broadcaster, Hall of Famer:

Funny, they both hit .267 lifetime. I will give Mike the edge in offense, for sure power wise. Brooks gets the edge on defense with 16 Gold Gloves to 10. They were both phenomenal. But to say...not even close..is not even close!!
