The Jays lost a close one to the Rays as they see their play-off chances slipping away.

Tampa won 3-2.

The Jays couldn't solve Matt Andriese today as they fell to the Rays 5-1.

Marcell Ozuna hit a solo shot for the only Toronto run.

Slade Heathcott hit his 11th homer.

Beau Taylor's 8th inning Grand Slam bailed out the Jays and sent the game to extra inning where Logan Morrison's 13th inning RBI single gave Toronto a 6-5 win over the Angels!

Kes Carter broke out o this slump in a big way, going 3 for 5 with a homer and 3 RBI in a back-and-forth game vs the Mariners. Marcell Ozuna's RBI double in the 11th proved to be the difference maker as Toronto won 7-6.

A spectacular catch by Jordan Smith cost the Jays the game, losing 2-1 to the Mariners.

The bigger loss might end up being Aaron Sanchez leaving the game with a sore shoulder.

A couple of Toronto minor leaguers have announced their retirement.

Munenori Kawasaki spent parts of 3 seasons in the bigs, most recently in 2014 with the Jays.

Chad Girodo never got higher than A ball.

Aaron Sanchez has shoulder tendinitis. He will miss the rest of the regular season but if the Jays manage to pull off an unlikely play-off bid, he could be back.

It came down to the last play for the second day in a row but the Mariners held on for a 3-2 win over Toronto.

The Astros won. The Magic Number is now 5.

Clinched Play-off Spots:

AL West - L.A. Angels
AL 1st Wild Card - Seattle Mariners

NL East - Philadelphia Phillies
NL Central - Chicago Cubs
NL West - L.A. Dodgers

Other races:

AL East - The Rays lead the Jays by 10.5 games. Their Magi cNumber is 1.
AL Central is a dogfight. The White Sox, Twins and Tigers are all tied. Cleveland trails by 3.5.
AL 2nd Wild Card - Astros lead Jays by 6.

NL Wild Card - Marlins are up 4.5 on the Reds, who lead the Nationals by 3.5.

The Jays just couldn't get it done, falling 6-4 to the Yankees.

Derek Dietrich and Didi Gregorius hit homers. Logan Morrison left the game with a bruised shin. He will sit for a couple of days.

Kes Carter left the game in the 1st inning with injury and Seth Smith took his lineup spot... and cracked two home runs as the Jays beat the Yankees 4-2.

Rafel Devers also hit a homer and Jon Lester also led the game with an injury. The season is starting to wear players down.
