Quick Update on Rolen's Roster Set

I'll take the high road and say that I'm patiently waiting for Erich's rosters. I've used them for every version of the game i've owned, and they've yet to dissapoint. If you don't feel that you want to use his roster set, then don't, there are two available right now, and apparently Cubby is working on one as well. But, please, don't try to start a flame war. We've been down this path before, and it isn't pretty.

I agree with you. I know it can be hard...but, we need to wait. Erich has always brought out great mods. For sure, Erich is a stand up guy. If he says he's working on it...then he is working on it. BTW, it pains me to agree with a Yankees fan

I will tell anyone that wants to hear it that you are a patient guy. Without getting into sorted details...trust me I griped at battists (Steve) a storm over a bug in the game. He never griped back....I tip my hat to him. I know I would have snapped back. LOL

i had to comment on this. i am a long time ootp'er and been on forums forever. I didnt post much but always kept an eye out on things, hell i had to make a new acct i didnt even remember my old info lol.

I am starting a new league and am waiting patiently on rolens roster set to start. why am i doing this, simple he makes the best roster sets in my eyes and goes the extra step for us all. for ANYONE to challenge rolen about his devotion and such should be flogged. yes we are all chomping at the bit for the set, hell guys like me that have owners waiting for a league prob more then some, but we will continue to wait and give rolen all the respect that he deserves. the amount of time he had devoted to us over the years with his amazing sets, his devotion to the community, and just being a good guy damn well deserves it. i will continue to wait and be supportive as long as it takes. that is what you do when you are waiting for the best.

sorry for my horrible misspelled rant but i had to come to bat for the guys that dont usually post on the forums like me, i am sure alot of us feel the same way and rolen get better and keep up the good work, anything you ever need from the ootp community we are here to support.

Don't take out the frustrations of the Cubs season on Erich, not that the White Sox are doing any better Just take a deep breath and chill. Erich is doing all that he can to put out the highest quality rosters set. He doesn't get paid for this and does this because he is a nice person. If you don't want to wait, there are other sets out there for you to use. Now, let's all get back to the topic...

I have used Rolens roster set in 6.5 and am patiently waiting for his set in 2007 because they pwn everyone else soo bad!

Anyway, these other 2 sets I have been trying lately baffle me. How can Pedro Astacio be better than Roy Oswalt. How can Brian McCann be the best rated player in the league? The list goes on.

In the other two sets, there were pretty much zero ratings for any player in the 200-250 range. WHY? How does Albert Pujols have worse contact ratings than So Taguchi? You would think players like Big Papi, Pujols, Jose Reyes, etc. would have some stud ratings in their contact, power, etc. ratings for the respective player. I have noticed that not one roster set for 2007 has utilized the rating scheme right at all. I am asking if you are utilizing this correctly because of the other rosters sets I've seen, it's horrible, but Rolens is on another level, but I am just hoping he does the ratings right.

I agree, but on the same level, don't discredit what these other guys have done. They made rosters for us to use and didn't ask for any compensation. Lastly, you have to understand that the game doesn't recognize names, so it can be possible Astacio is good based on his ratings and how he developed.

True, they did a good job on pretty much everything. The guys are all in the right spots on the teams, their profiles are correct, etc. but the ratings, I think could have been done better, and I am hoping Rolen or Cubbyfan does it good.

I have just completed the CSV file that has every player on their correct major and minor league team as of the 1st of April. There was about 3900 names I went through. I have now forwarded the file on to Rolen to import to the game (About noon EST). I'm sure he is working today but I will contact him and further offer my assistance to get this project complete.

Moderators, this is not a complaint nor am I flaming anyone. I devoted a great deal of my personal time to lend a hand in getting this thing done. I would just like to see where we stand.
