How is Johnson? Being from my high school, I like following him but see that he's on the DL. Don't get much info on him. What says you all?

Absolutely tears up the minors because he can get away with pulling everything no matter what. IMO, he's not much of a solution at first base, and once everybody is healthy Swisher should be there permanently.

Todd Walker starting at 1B and hitting 5th again. Someone hurry up and get healthy. I can't stand this much longer!

****. Looks like Nick Swisher hyper extended his knee running the bases. He had to leave the game. Scutaro comes in to pinch run - will he play CF??

Braden is a crooked hat guy.
But so far, good debut. Much better than Jason Windsor's last year.

Swisher is reported to have a strained left hamstring.
According to my "Oakland Athletics Injury Reporting" translation book, that means that he's actually got a completely severed leg.

This game has pretty much been handed on a silver platter to the A's. It's just a matter of if the bullpen can avoid being ****ty today.

I go to Vegas and the whole A's team gets hurt. I really think 15 of the 40 man roster should be doctors.

That had to be one of the worst calls I've ever seen to end a game that close. The ball was about 4-6 inches from the glove of the first baseman and Chavez had his full foot on the bag and was still called out.

Doesn't matter. Piazza was on deck and right now he would have a hard time hitting earth if he fell out of a plane.
He sure is seeming to be a lot more Eric Karros than he is Frank Thomas right now. This pathetic excuse for a major league offense is absolutely wasting the best starting pitching in the majors right now. The last time through the rotation, the starting five has allowed 1 (Kennedy), 1 (Gaudin), 1 (Haren), 1 (Braden), and 2 (Blanton) earned runs. How they haven't won every single one of those games is just terrible.
