John W. Patterson was an outfielder (plus a few games in the infield) for several Negro League teams during the period of 1894-1908. The photo caption places him as manager of the Columbia Giants of Chicago, 1899-1900, but the top word on his chest doesn't appear to be Columbia. The bottom word could be Giants. Walter "Rev" Cannady
Walter "Rev" Cannady was an infielder with a lengthy career in the Negro Leagues which lasted from 1921 to 1945.
