Wow,what a legend. Bob Foster as well. To think 63-1 against this type of competition. Congrats to the Beavers..what a team. Very interesting week in the UTBA. Things beginning to take shape and heat up. I see that a few teams are cheering certain teams to be "spoilers" just like the NFL....good stuff guys. I cant say how much I have enjoyed this league, and no..I am not into S&M..dont enjoy losing..lol. Seriously, what a great idea..this UTBA. Who was the brainchild behind this league? It has certainly added life to my TBCB experience. Although I have always loved and played TB with regularity over 20+ years,I must admit that before I was accepted into this league that I was suffering one of those periods of TBCB "burnout" and this has pulled me right back into my addiction full steam..lol. Thanks to everyone involved.

Jbergey22 first pitched the idea and then SAL offered to run it and came up with a reworked version of his MBF rules. Here is the thread where it all came together:

I got the idea basically from reading SAL's dynasty so I think he deserves most of the credit. A league like this is only as good as its members + a great commish and this is a great group. Makes it a lot of fun.

A couple of well knowns jumped aboard early and gave the league instant credibility, from there it was everyone else that made this happen.

I agree, Some of them bouts were very surprising. Frazier does alright for being a 3 rated fighter against all these powerful heavyweights. Coming into the match I didnt think I matched up very well, many of my advantages I felt were in classes I had pre-prime and rookie fighters so I figured it would be a battle and probably would have listed you as a fav.

I'm happy to see Taylor has been performing well for you Mike. I was beginning to think he was just an overated 10 rated fighter.

Couple of question guys.

1)Do we want to run the individual tournaments before the Conference Championships & World Team Title match or after?

In the past, individual titles have always been a stake anytime a champ fights.
2)Do we want to continue this throughout the tournaments?

1) I vote for after to keep interest up through the end.

2) Yes

1. After the playoffs, the individual tournaments can take abit of time to get though and I know I wouldn't want to be sitting around waiting for the tournaments to end to find out how the playoffs went down. Plus, I think it follows better to get all the team stuff out of the way before the individual tournaments.

2. I say yes keep the titles at stake if a guy fights and beats the champion I see no reason why he shouldn't become champ himself.

Also, in the Top 20 how in the heck did Andrew Lewis go from being champ at the beginning of the season to not even being ranked in the Top 20 towards the end. That has to be one of the biggest drops ever.

I wanted to run some sort of a boxing league for the longest time. Just didn't know how to go about it so I started the MBF to see if there was any interest in the idea. jbergey is the one that jumped in feet first and got this league rolling. I offered my services to jbergey to run the league & the rest is history.
The UTBA spelled the death of the MBF since both leagues are pretty much the same. But stay tuned, another universe will be starting in KS down in the Inside the Ropes thread in the near future.

Yeah, that would do it and I must say I no longer feel all that bad about that trade I made with Chris.

I'm pleased to see that my man Fausto Rodriguez had a hand in the demise of "Six Heads." He's been a pain in the a@# for the Tomatoes since the beginning of the league. Unfortunately, I have to deal with him again next round against the Haymakers - unless Chris decides to overhaul his roster again and ships him off somewhere...

You should feel bad, with Chris sending you a World Champion(Sweet Pete) as one of the fighters in the deal and you sent him a lemon in Lewis.
