I have to say a little disappointed. I looked on Google. Nothing good but Mostly cards and GETTY IMAGES. NOT WHAT I WAS HOPING FOR.BUT I GUESS I'M ASKING A LOT. SORRY FOR ASKING. IT WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN.

I don't remember where this one came from. Looks nice enough to have been a Henry Yee or Merkle image, but can't say for sure (and this is how it came; no watermark, autograph or other ID has been removed).

(Note: plenty large enough to isolate J.C.)

Since I started collecting baseball images I have learned to be patient. It may take years, but if you are diligent and patient what you want may turn up when you least expect it. Over and over I have seen images I never expected to see and had given up looking for suddenly appear. Stick with it, it's worth it.

Coulda sworn I posted the '67 Cleveland image here when it was posted on eBay, but it must not have uploaded. It's one of the great white whales. That's also a photo of the photo, so here's the original, with the autograph cleaned off:

Alan Brice passed away on July 30. Thanks to Fat Jack's tip, I was able to find the attached photo of Brice in the July 19, 1962 issue of the Indianapolis Star. The aspect ratio looks a little off, but I left it the way it was published in the newspaper. The uniform is that of the Indianapolis Indians.

This probably doesn't belong on the major league thread, but he's appeared here already, not long ago (thanks, Merkle).

From time to time, I'll just do a cold google search for "Mets" or "Seattle Pilots" or whatever--not getting too far down the rabbit hole...just checking. Usually there's nothing new but, every once in a while...

I've seen a couple of B&W Bruce Fitzpatricks, and a few colorized ones, but hadn't seen an actual color image of this "original" Met (or "Hey, you, almost a Met" if you prefer). This was on a Mets Tumblr site. I don't do the Twitters or the Tumblrs because I'm an old dog not interested in learning new tricks. I'm a little bummed because they say they "sat down with" Bruce and he shared stories...but there aren't any stories. Maybe they're somewhere (YouTube or something), but its late and I'm tired. Anyway, cool pic. Hopefully, this'll be new to some of you, as it was to me. I give you original and, um, let's call it "extra crispy". The image was largely resistant to quickie fixes, but I did try (my blue sky is outright colorized). I could do better if I put some more time into it (I think).

Speaking of Scheinblum: Little known fact: In 1972 the entire starting Kansas City Royals was selected to the American League All-Star team as reserves: Amos Otis, Lou Pinella, and Richie Scheinblum (in his only all-star year).
