Thanks! That Picture of Jeff Means You Could be an Urban Outfitter
(Puns about that guy are too easy; they'll make my other efforts seem sub-Urban.)
Canadian-born Chad Ricketts landed in the Tampa area, but didn't have enough Florida loyalty to sign with the Marlins when they tabbed him in the 59th round of the 1993 draft. He commuted to Winter Haven for two seasons at Polk J.C. and impressed the Cubs enough to get tabbed in the 9th round in 1995. Of course, Cubs might have simply known they'd eventually be purchased by a family named "Ricketts" and were getting in some early brown-nosing… Anyhow, the Cubs AI wants to try Chad out at the Major League level, and why not? He excelled in splitting '98 between Daytona in the FSL and AA West Tennessee, posting a combined 25 saves. IRL, of course, the Cubs sent him back to West Tennessee, which seems harsh. He had another fine season, boosting his K/9 to over 10.0 and…earned a trade to the Dodgers. Chad and Terry Adams for Ismael Valdez and Eric Young Sr. The Dodgers at least put him at AAA, and he had a good season for the Albuquerque Dukes in 2000 and another for the Las Vegas Stars in '01. And then was traded to Toronto, Ricketts and Luke Prokopec going north and Cesar Izturis and Paul Quantrill heading south. As a Syracuse SuperChief in 2002, Ricketts had another fine year, again over 10K/9 for the fourth consecutive season and…got released?? At age 27, after pitching more than decently at AAA? (A few too many walks, so he could have a better WHIP, but the ERA was fine, the K's outstanding, and the FIP was above average. Very strange. Especially as the Jays had just traded for him that spring.) What's even more bizarre is that Ricketts couldn't get another job. 30 teams and nobody wanted this guy? Not even at AAA as a spare arm? Chad still wanted to pitch (he spent two years in the Indies before hanging it up)…but nobody wanted him. My best guess is that he got caught with steroids and was banned from O.B., but that's just a guess. I can't find any record of it. Huh. |

Terry Puhl
Thought I'd give Terry Puhl a makeover. I'm not very experienced but I got tired of making so many requests I thought I'd give one of these .fg a shot.

Elly De La Cruz
Scouting grades: Hit: 55 | Power: 55 | Run: 60 | Arm: 60 | Field: 55 | Overall: 55
It would be hard to find a prospect who has gone from unknown quantity to Top 100 more rapidly than De La Cruz. Receiving a modest bonus of $65,000 at the start of the 2018-19 international signing period, the Dominican infielder performed well during his pro debut in the Dominican Summer League in 2019, but nothing that tipped anyone externally off about what was to come. De La Cruz has the chance to be a true five-tool player. He showed off bat speed and athleticism in the DSL, but added strength was the huge contributor to his explosion on the scene in the U.S. He can swing it from both sides of the plate, looking a little more comfortable from the left side. He can be very quick to the ball, but he’ll have to continue to refine his approach as he advances as he can get over-aggressive. He started to show he can tap into his considerable raw power in 2021, with some believing he might eventually be a plus hitter with plus power. -mlb.com |

Kyle Nelson
So far this season, Kyle Nelson is 1-0, with a 1.48 ERA & 2.47 FIP and a 2.86 SO/W ratio.
The Diamondbacks’ analytics staff, led by pitching analyst Ross Seaton, identified the effectiveness of Nelson’s four-seamer/slider combination. So, just five days after Nelson was released by Cleveland, he was claimed off waivers by Arizona. For the Diamondbacks, the optimism caused by Nelson’s hot start is amplified by his age. At 25, Nelson is under team control through 2027. He is, in other words, the exact type of piece Arizona is hoping to unearth this season, as it begins building the foundation of its next playoff-contending roster. “They keep telling me that they believe in me,” Nelson said. “And not only are they telling me, but with their actions, the way they're using me, the opportunities they've provided me with, it really shows. So it helps just feeling that belief.” - AZ Republic Nelson was already on my list of current players to update, so happy to kill two birds with one stone. |

It's just my preference is all. It's not a big deal if he doesn't have them.

Zac Gallen
“My dad would joke around and say that a plane could crash behind the mound and I’d turn around say, ‘Alright, next pitch,'” Gallen told Arizona Sports’ Bickley & Marotta on Tuesday.
“I think the biggest thing is just getting comfortable. Last year, everything was just super new, just trying to take in the experiences,” Gallen said. “Not to say I’m not taking in the experiences now. But it’s feeling more like, ‘Alright, this is legit, the debut’s over,’ all the fairy tale and stuff like that. Now it’s down to business. Just being quick on making adjustments, understanding what I have to do better, start-to-start, catch play to catch play, whatever it is, just taking more of a notice of things like that.” What’s more: The Diamondbacks got Gallen in a trade from the Marlins. It cost them their top prospect, shortstop Jazz Chisholm, but the D-backs have quickly turned a trade piece into this year’s ace of the rotation. - arizonasports.com Here's the media day photo facegen for Zac. I'll post the glasses alternative based on that pic, percolaten, under First_Last naming convention - just change it to the minor league ID code this file has to make it your primary one. I realize that Mac users still have an issue with some people with Spring Training Photo Day beards looking similar and that glasses can also help him stand out from the crowd. Happy to oblige. |

Zac Gallen with glasses
Here's Zac with those glasses as best as I can get it from that photo. percolaten's correct, there just are no good straight-on shots of him with the glasses. He definitely has a preference off the mound to not wear them. I'll probably be using the media day photo in my game/pack but, again, downloading this one and saving it as "gallen000zac.fg" over the other one will make glasses-Zac the primary facegen.
Anyway, best I could do in the time I have with the image we had to work with... |

Thanx so much! Job well done, especially considering you had to deal with the glare on the glasses.

LansdowneSt facegens, July updated pack on MediaFire
The July 4 zip file is posted.
Here's the full description posted on my thread: https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...08#post4916808 Here's the link, if you want to cut to the chase... https://www.mediafire.com/file/ox6gx..._Pack.zip/file Note to percolaten that the non-glasses Zac is in the pack, so save that one to the side and add it atop this if you use it. Same to those that prefer Zac with glasses. In the end, I had to choose just one. |

Larry Andersen
Larry Andersen was traded to... [voice quivers with regret of what could have been]. Uh 'em, Take two. Larry Andersen was traded by the Houst-... [Red Sox fan chokes back tears...]. Sigh. No narrative today. Just two words. .... Jeff Bagwell...
I have a different fg from the CU Facepack. Looks like the original creator used the same picture I used for it (the Phillies head shot photo) but I took the red out and narrowed him a bit as some pics have him with a narrower head appearance. |
