OK, my first attempt at uploading those changelog things I was talking about. The first is a list of players whose birthdates were wrong. Most of the 20th century ones were off by just a year, so it was probably a transcription error. But to give you an idea as to how daunting this whole task is: it's over 500 players.

And this is a list of players with the wrong birth nations listed. There were 12 players listed as being born in Toronto, The United States, for example. (And I checked all the players, I didn't just assume it was wrong--there could be a Toronto, Kansas or something. I mean, there is an Ontario, California.)

Just wanted to thank you again for the targeted list. I pasted all the info from the Google Drive onto a Word document to track the corrections. I've completed 3 pages of edits out of the 15 and am continuing to work through it. I know this was a lot of work for you and as someone that undertakes similar volunteer efforts, I just wanted you to know the work you did is very much appreciated and once all of this (and any others) is entered, every customer using OOTP will benefit going forward.

Can you take a look at Phenomenal Smith of the Philadelphia Athletics for the 1884 season?
I believe the game has him released and signing with Pittsburgh on June 29.
However he started a game for Philadelphia on August 14th.
He was only traded once so he couldn't have been on Pittsburgh on August 14th.
He was released from Philadelphia on August 27th.
He made his only start for Pittsburgh on Sep 1st.
So maybe release from Philadelphia on August 27th
and have him sign with Pittsburgh somewhere between August 28th and August 31st.

Trade database error

January first 1892 Jim O'rourke is released by the Giants and signed by Washington in the database... this is an error since yes he played with the Senators in real life but in 1893 to end his career, he was with the Giants the entire 1892 season.

His real life stats are fine in the game for 1892 and 93 the error is in the trade database (and it is there since many versions).

Yeah thats what i have on my transaction spreadsheet.
O'Rourke playing for NY in 1892 and then Washington in 1893.

Wonder if its because he was assigned to Washington by New York on sept 15th 1892 but diudn't play for Washington till 1893.
He also played 1 game for the Giants in 1904.

Probably since the error is there since a very long time... New York release him first day of the year (as the database usually made most of the moves that day) but he never come back or play for a team in 1892 (this is the only transaction for him for the year in the game database).

Edit: in my game the transaction was skipped since the historical team id was incorrect for washington... but as I said the Senators doesn't send him back to New York before the season start.

Forgot about that... Lans you should correct this in the database since 1904 isn't included in his real life stat and he retired after the 1893 season in the game.

Jim's 1904 is in the database already. Transactions are somewhere else, so I will leave the transaction issues for pstrickert to look at.

OK I guess you fixed it at some point this summer because 1904 isn't included in the database I started my game with (stop in 1893)... no problem I'll do a copy and paste of his numbers in the editor tab after loading him as a free agent in 1904 when I'll reach that year.

Thanks! The 15 pages are now 24 on the master I'm copying the to-do-list over to. Some of these I did already when I was fixing other bio items from the submitted list, so good news for me.

I kind of took a liberty with middle initials. Basically, if they aren't listed with their middle initial on Baseball-Reference.com (some are), and there was no other player with that name while they were active, I got rid of it. But using the same logic, I added S. to a Logan Allen because we've got TWO of them right now.

Not sure if already mentioned, but Larry Shepard (manager for the Pirates in the 60s and then pitching coach for Reds) is in the database as Shepard Larry.

Also, the city of Parkton in Maryland seems to have a space at the front or something--if you sort cities in the US by name, it shows up first. Editing city/world stuff looks like a nightmare, though.
